You’re welcome.

Yes, we disagree on the existence of unilateral decisions. No one has sole control over all the factors of any decision, but I believe unilateral decisions still exist. I respect your position that they do not.

You’re free to say that. You’re not free to lie about what I said.

My original comment does not address the decision to have the child in any way, much less whose burden it is. it’s factually incorrect that women are obligated to pay child support for kids they don’t want to the same degree as men. It is absolutely possible to abandon a kid without the consent of the father. I can have a kid, never tell the father he got me pregnant, and deliver it to a safe haven, without risk of ever paying child support.

You won the argument by agreeing with my original comment?

What in the world? This is the comment you replied to: it’s factually incorrect that women are obligated to pay child support for kids they don’t want to the same degree as men. It is absolutely possible to abandon a kid without the consent of the father. I can have a kid, never tell the father he got me pregnant, and deliver it to a safe haven, without risk of ever paying child support. I have not participated in any disagreement about “which parent had the unilateral decision to prevent the bi…

you are changing the logic we agreed upon in the beginning of this conversation. I have no clue what you are talking about. What you’ve just described are extenuating circumstances that influence people’s ability to make decisions The existence of my car is an extenuating circumstance? No. if this is the case then a women DOES NOT have the unilateral decision to surrender or get an abortion when we consider external forces that influence her decision Yes, that is YOUR POSITION. I disagree with y…
/r/PurplePillDebate23/08/24 05:55 PM

No decision ever taken is without the influence of other’s past decisions. If I go outside to my car right now, and drive a thousand miles east, without talking to anyone, my decision is influenced by my parents decision to be together, the car manufacturers decisions, the department of transportation for every state I cross.. Your position is that unilateral decisions do not exist. So I don’t know why you wasted my time arguing about one.
/r/PurplePillDebate23/08/24 05:45 PM
2

But you’re saying that it’s unilaterally just the man? The woman has zero part in getting pregnant? And because the man unilaterally gets her pregnant, nothing she does later is unilateral (abortion, surrender, etc)? Even if she doesn’t tell him or involve him?
/r/PurplePillDebate23/08/24 05:37 PM
1

The decision to have a child or to not have a child fully rest on the person who can unilaterally determine whether or not to set off a chain of events Which person is that??
/r/PurplePillDebate23/08/24 05:33 PM
1

OK? But the answer you your question is yes, correct? You think women are able to unilaterally surrender a child they have been carrying for 10 months?
/r/PurplePillDebate23/08/24 05:24 PM
1

Would you describe this hypothetical differently? I have sex with a man. I realize I’m pregnant. I do not tell him. I break up with the man and end contact. I give birth. I surrender the infant to a safe haven, giving it up for adoption. This is unilateral, yes?
/r/PurplePillDebate23/08/24 05:20 PM
2

Nope. What does that have to do with the fact that it’s possible for a woman to unilaterally surrender a child?
/r/PurplePillDebate23/08/24 05:12 PM
1

but that would be illegal if the father is fit to parent. What law do you imagine this breaks?? Show me a case where a woman surrendered an infant without naming the father, and was prosecuted because the father was fit to parent.
/r/PurplePillDebate23/08/24 04:57 PM
2

I’m not arguing the validity of abortions. Just that it’s factually incorrect that women are obligated to pay child support for kids they don’t want* to the same degree as men.* It is absolutely possible to abandon a kid without the consent of the father. I can have a kid, never tell the father he got me pregnant, and deliver it to a safe haven, without risk of ever paying child support.

any potential parental obligations from accidental pregnancies should be considered voidable by written or verbal agreement between the biological parents, just like with egg and sperm donations. I agree with this as long as it happens the same way it does with sperm donors: BEFORE CONCEPTION. Men should be able to present a contract to potential sex partners indicating that they waive all rights and responsibilities to any potential offspring. This way, both partners can make an informed decisi…

Women can have abortions. Women can drop off their infant in a safe haven drop box in many locations across the US.

Most women have dated at least one guy who spent so much time playing video games that it harmed the romantic relationship, and potentially their ability to take care of themselves (sleep), perform well at work, or maintain friendships. So most women will try to avoid repeating the scenario, even if it means rejecting men who play games in moderation.
/r/PurplePillDebate22/08/24 06:10 PM

At point would you acknowledge a man's efforts are sufficient and the environment he is in is the issue? This is a false choice. There are a lot of things that could make women disinterested in a man that have nothing to do with “effort.” There are un changeable aspects to people’s appearance and personality that are beyond their control. A lack of success of a particular person does not necessarily say anything about effort or environment. “Sufficient” is not a relevant metric here.

But if the argument is that society is vapid, so marriages are vapid, what is the point of the last paragraph? Suddenly everything about the way we live our lives is vapid, except for Stephanie’s micro wedding?

For initial attraction, personality is just more readily apparent. If I’m more attracted to people who are funny, of course I’m going to be attracted to someone I see making jokes and laughing. An introvert may be just as funny, but I wouldn’t know it.

I guess not! I use different strategies to meet people for different purposes, and it works well for me. The advice I’d give a single guy to find a date is completely different than the strategy I’d use to find a gal pal.

You are here glorifying marriage before it was a choice, telling us it was more legitimate. That’s how I know you don’t value choice. It’s not that complicated. If I said that running a southern cotton farm was a more legitimate business in the 1700s than today, that’s a clear statement, even if I never mention slavery. What you exclude from your comparison speaks as loudly as what you highlight.
/r/PurplePillDebate21/08/24 07:38 PM

unwise and silly to fully renounce the past and embrace this shitty society That’s not the discussion. And I never addressed the aspect of choice Yes, your values speaking. I think the institution of marriage is much more legitimate today, precisely because it’s a choice. You see choice as irrelevant to the legitimacy of an institution, because your values are different. You think wearing a ring or having a buffet at a party is more relevant to the legitimacy of an institution. And that’s a posi…

Women used to have to get married for financial security and social acceptance. Women used to have to stay together unless they could prove that their partner was at “fault” in the eyes of the law, and potentially their church. That’s when you say marriage was more legitimate. Today marriage is something people have to choose to do and choose to stay in. That’s when you say marriage is less legitimate. It’s less legitimate because people have white collar jobs and because they throw a party when…
/r/PurplePillDebate21/08/24 07:15 PM

Marriage is less legitimate… but marriages are not less legitimate… interesting. Women getting married because they can’t support themselves single or because they’re worried about being shunned from their community… a legitimate institution. Women getting married because they actually choose to… a result of captitalism and spritual bankruptcy… because they have a party or something.

I’m assuming you mean Keynesian. His name was John Maynard Keynes. a spend first economy which in turn is commercializing multiple institutions, including marriage. Great, TELL US HOW. When my grandmother married John the coal miner because he built a house on his parents property, HOW was that marriage more legitimate. When I married Bill because he was a midlevel manager at a tech firm and could qualify for a mortgage in a HCOL city, HOW is it marriage less legitimate. You are the one who cont…

Why is a house someone bought “of less true legitimate value” than a house someone built or inherited?

Did you read your post? Furthermore, many past societies weren’t primarily driven by monetary value, but rather, what you can tangibly bring to the table. People used to bring tangible THINGS, back when marriage was legitimate. less about financial provision As opposed to now, when it’s about the financial provision of THINGS. Which is less legitimate, for reasons?
/r/PurplePillDebate21/08/24 06:20 PM

This makes no sense to me. “I need to find a husband who can build me a house” and “I need to find a wife who can take care of my babies” is legitimate…? “I need to find a husband who can buy a house” and “I need to find a wife who can pay for daycare” is illegitimate…? Why in the world is the former better or “more legitimate” than the latter?

goes against all the advice from women on here about how easy it is to meet women out in everyday life I guess I don’t know what your referring to. But I’m not sure what advice about dating has to do with making same-sex friends? I'd bet there are 100x more women using apps like bumble bff than men using those same apps for platonic friendships. I completely agree, but I’m not sure what the point is? Why is it crazy to put effort into making new friends?

What does that have to do with what we’re talking about? Marriage becomes an exclusive “attractive” thing… most people cannot attain. Most people are still going to move in together, have kids together, entangle their finances. They’re going to be even more likely to breakup than if they were married. How are the kids better off? How is society better off?
/r/PurplePillDebate21/08/24 01:12 AM

Why is a breakup of an unmarried family less atomizing than the breakup of a married family? 40% of kids in the US are born to unmarried parents already. How are they better off than kids born to married parents?

this is so common that it is something that therapists have to ask from the get go. its commonness is the thing. it is something that may have once upon a time not long ago been assumed to not be the case. And my point is that you are 100% incorrect. There is no time or context when therapists did not or would not ask about relationships from the get-go. You’re free to think that people are more isolated and overly-reliant on therapists. That doesn’t change the fact that what you are saying abou…

Because issues in relationships are a symptom of many mental health issues, something therapists are looking for… If you say that therapists have to ask about relationships because of capitalism, it means you don’t think therapists ask about relationships to help determine whether someone has a mental illness like depression. /r/PurplePillDebate20/08/24 03:48 AM

We’re still in the same conversation. Therapists have to ask people about their parents, families, and other relationships to figure out what problems they have. Capitalism is not why therapists have to ask these questions! When you walk in a therapist’s office, they don’t know whether you’re isolated from your family because of hyper-individualism or another reason. They have to ask either way.
/r/PurplePillDebate20/08/24 02:49 AM
1

What in the world does this have to do with WHY therapists ask their patients about their interpersonal relationships? You think in less capitalist counties, therapists don’t ask about your parents or your close relationships?

You don’t think things like mental illness can have a negative impact on someone’s ability to maintain relationships with family and friends??
/r/PurplePillDebate18/08/24 09:53 PM

Yes, there’s the systemic view and the individual view. Sure, most wealth inequality is due to inter-general resources. So, on the whole, broke people are broke because they didn’t come from money. But if I didn’t come from money, I can still work to become not-broke. Many people can achieve their goals with a bad personality, because of luck (in money, looks, etc). But also, many unlucky people can achieve their goals because of a good personality.

Bob is financially stable because he inherited a trust fund. Joe is financially stable because he worked hard and managed his resources carefully. Henry is is lazy and reckless. Is Henry broke because he didn’t have rich parents, or because of his personality?

among the first things a therapist asks is if you have a support network of friends and family, exactly because there is this individualist tendency, and capitalist fantasy, that you can just pay someone to do that shit for you. How did you come to the conclusion that this is the reason therapists ask about their patient’s relationships??
/r/PurplePillDebate18/08/24 08:43 PM

You are ignoring two things: It is incredibly new to expect all of these “things” from a romantic relationship. People used to have extended families, churches, and other communities to rely on for these things. Then we shoved all of these things onto a single person, and guess what? That person could not replace an entire community. We’re not replacing a partner with a therapist. We’re replacing a pastor & 10 other people with a therapist. Women used to do more of these “things” in a relationsh…

I think you’re conflating different things. I own my own house, live alone, make my own money, split 50/50 in relationships. For a government pension? For social security benefits of the higher earner? NO. These are the reasons gay people campaigned for marriage. These benefits are life and death for many people, and can ONLY be obtained by getting married.

Women who are giving sex to the top % of men in pursuit of a relationship I think the second part is happening less than you think it is. It’s just that most connections are more sexual and short-term than ever, so women are selecting connections that will be worthwhile if that’s the case. Serious relationships aren’t the ultimate goal for a lot of women a lot of the time. And if it probably isn’t going to be serious, it makes sense to focus on people who are hot and fun.

Another unsubstantiated claim! Fun! I like that it’s a new number each time. “Most men,” 90%, 80%… but what’s consistent is that they’re all made up without any data to back them up.

Feel free to share a source that says 90% of young men are single AND never have sex. But I doubt you’ll be able to. https://ifstudies.org/blog/is-the-sex-recession-over “Figure 3 breaks down rates of sexlessness over the past 10 years by gender for adults aged 18-29. There have been big changes since 2020, with levels of sexual activity in 2022 reaching highs not seen for 25 years. There’s that active imagination again.
/r/PurplePillDebate16/08/24 06:32 PM

Whoa, am I going to be the person who tells you that sometimes people have sex without being in a committed relationship? What a big thing for you to learn! You can’t be this stupid. Someone being single the day they get a survey obviously does not mean they “never have sex,” especially when the data shows the vast majority had sex within the last year.
/r/PurplePillDebate16/08/24 06:25 PM

Not who you’re replying to, but 60%-80% of adults have herpes simplex viruses type 1. If you are saying they should only date other people with HSV-1, you are saying that the average woman should not date your hypothetical virgin guy.

In 2018, over 55% of people between 25 and 34 in the US lived with a romantic partner. Second chart: https://www.census.gov/library/stories/2018/11/cohabitation-is-up-marriage-is-down-for-young-adults.html That is your guy’s age group. The average guy his age didn’t get “no interest.” The average guy is not a virgin. The average guy is not someone without relationship experience. The average guy his age has lived with a romantic partner!
/r/PurplePillDebate16/08/24 03:33 PM
8

Let’s say OP’s guy is 35, and would have been 29 at the time of your source. At that time, only 4.4% of men his age had never had sex. I think we can assume that some of those people lost their virginity in the next 6 years, but this guy was not one of them. And the post isn’t just about not having sex, but any romantic relationship. I’m sure some of those <4.4% had sexless relationships, but again, not our guy. He’s an anomaly.

But you’re using more of the same behavior to back up your theory about the behavior. The same questionable motives that can drive people to have a couples profile photo also drive people to make public posts about how “happy” they are with their partner. https://www.huffpost.com/entry/what-it-means-when-couples-constantly-post-about-each-other-on-instagram_n_5a8b06cfe4b00bc49f4732f6/amp https://relevantmagazine.com/life5/relationships/happy-couple-post-their-partner-less-on-social-media/

Definitely not. People often put photos like that up after one person has been disloyal, pretending to be single or fully cheating. It’s both a way to ward off potential threats/hamper someone’s ability to lie about being in a relationship and a way to try to convince everyone/yourself you’re in a loving relationship.

Aren’t you proving the point that people can tell the difference between different kinds of relationships?
/r/PurplePillDebate15/08/24 03:33 PM

when you completely destigmatize promiscuity, you’re basically saying that all relationships are equal, whether it’s a one-night stand or a long-term commitment. Why would this be true? Like, there’s no stigma against casual friends and acquaintances, but no one thinks they are equal to close friends or a best friend. Why wouldn’t people be able to distinguish between types of romantic relationships, if they’re able to do it for friendships?

You’re proving the point though… You have active animosity towards the women who would date you. That should be a red flag!

This is pretty simple. Your position: All in all, I find it hard to believe that a person that went through proper looksmaxxing would feel inferior to people around them My position: My female friends who have put the most effort into their appearance have expressed feelings of inferiority compared to others around them, more so than other women who have put less effort into their physical appearance. You’re free to think they weren’t “looksmaxxing” “properly.” You’re free to think I’m assigning…

I want to improve women's empathy, so I will make an analogy. Why in the world would you need to make an analogy? Men are also overweight and obese.
/r/PurplePillDebate13/08/24 02:40 AM
5

This is definitely contrary to what I’ve observed and experienced.
/r/PurplePillDebate13/08/24 12:03 AM
3

I’m aware that you heard two anecdotes a decade ago and have chosen to “see” them as evidence of your theory about 8 billion people. Noted! But men are just as out of shape as women, go to therapy less than women, pursue education less than women, don’t buy homes more than women… they don’t even make New Year’s resolutions as much as women! Men’s “need” to improve does not seem to exist in the real world.
/r/PurplePillDebate12/08/24 10:07 PM
3

Yeah, now we’re at the part where you back up your theory, not repeat it. But it sounds like your position is that men “need” to improve… but that it has zero actual impact on their behavior. They “need” to do things women don’t need to do… and do those things at the same amount as women. It’s completely illogical to me, but I guess it’s a position you can have.
/r/PurplePillDebate12/08/24 09:45 PM
2

And therefore… what?!? You’re saying things have been changing for at least 12 years. So where’s the impact? Where’s the widening divide between men and women’s self-improvement?
/r/PurplePillDebate12/08/24 08:18 PM
1

And these anecdotes mean what for mean and women at large? If women think they’re perfect, and men think they need to improve… there should be some actual real world impact! Where is the data?? Men consistently report higher self-esteem in studies. Why??
/r/PurplePillDebate12/08/24 07:47 PM
1

But they are equally as overweight/obese. Men aren’t more likely to be in shape. Women are more likely to take weight-loss drugs like Ozempic. Why?
/r/PurplePillDebate12/08/24 07:14 PM
3

I’m literally asking you what to look at. What can I look at to see evidence that men pursue self-improvement more than women? The only specific reference you made is physical. But men are overweight/obese at the same rates as women (or worse). They join gyms at the same rates as women. All I see is evidence that doesn’t support your theory.
/r/PurplePillDebate12/08/24 06:58 PM
3

If it takes that much time and effort to find any evidence of your theory being true…
/r/PurplePillDebate12/08/24 06:50 PM

People who care about the relationship put effort into maintaining its quality. People who just care about ego and status are only concerned about the threat of it ending/getting dumped. /r/PurplePillDebate04/08/24 03:32 AM

I don’t think so, which is why “fixing the problem” is not the relevant standard. “No means no” is good. It is good even though some dumb fucks decide they don’t need to respect a “no” because they’ve gotten away with it in the past.
/r/PurplePillDebate04/08/24 03:27 AM

Is there any situation in which telling people something has prevented all of them from continuing to do stupid shit? What teaching has resulted in perfect practice across an entire population?
/r/PurplePillDebate04/08/24 02:47 AM
4

Again, people believe the earth is flat. People believe stupid shit. People do stupid shit. But just as there’s a ton of “help” to support people knowing that the world is round, there’s “no means no.”
/r/PurplePillDebate04/08/24 02:44 AM
5

9 and 10 show how someone relying only on their limited perceptions could develop dumb beliefs. That’s WHY we have lessons like “no means no.” That’s the actual point of teaching it. The same way I could “borrow” things without asking from a few people and have them say “that’s fine.” That could lead me to think I never need to ask permission to use anyone else’s property. Acting on that dumb belief could get me jailed or killed. That’s why we teach people to ask.
/r/PurplePillDebate04/08/24 02:32 AM
1

I literally just said I agreed.
/r/PurplePillDebate04/08/24 01:14 AM

/r/PurplePillDebate03/08/24 11:14 PM
13

14- you’ve written this incorrectly, reversing what “yes” and “no” mean. Does simply telling this man that "no means no" address the underlying issues unless additional education and understanding are provided? Yes, it does. The “underlying issues” are the reason for “no means no.” It’s the same as any other teaching. “Ask before you use something of someone else’s.” The rule exists BECAUSE of the nuance of real life. A ton of people in my life would be fine with me borrowing their things. If I …
/r/PurplePillDebate03/08/24 11:00 PM

/r/PurplePillDebate02/08/24 08:15 PM
1

I don’t know what you’re referring to.
/r/PurplePillDebate02/08/24 08:11 PM
2

Descriptively as in how well does it describe something? It was OK. It was unnecessary but not wrong, to add “some” before rapes or women, because neither of us ever implied to was all or most. This wording is obviously clunky, but possible to understand in context: “have never been in a situation where because womens no dont always mean no they would have stopped”
/r/PurplePillDebate02/08/24 08:04 PM
2

It does not address the problem. If a man says, “sure, the woman said ‘no’ to sex with me, because I’ve decided to fuck her without consent because I don’t think she means no because of X,” X is not the problem. It dies not matter what X is. The fact that the man feels he has the right to decide when to respect a “no” is the problem.
/r/PurplePillDebate02/08/24 07:48 PM
2

Your argument is that there are rapes occurring right now because slutshaming is the reason men don’t respect “no.” If slutshaming were gone, these men currently raping women would stop, because they would start believing women when they say “no.” Slutshaming is problem, but it’s not the problem in this situation.
/r/PurplePillDebate02/08/24 07:30 PM
3

If in my world where women are as i prescribed when a woman said no it would always and 100% be no because there would be no cultural norms that make no ambiguous If you’re raping women who say “no,” slut-shaming isn’t the reason.
/r/PurplePillDebate02/08/24 07:22 PM
3

If a woman could say "want to go back to my place to fuck" it would be really useful in lowering the chances miscommunication could lead to rape. LITERALLY HOW?? This makes absolutely no sense to me. You are going to have to spell it out. Obviously any situation in which a woman consents to sex is not rape. That doesn’t stop situations where the woman *does not consent.”

In your mind, why is there a teacher shortage?
/r/PurplePillDebate01/08/24 06:19 PM

You think being a cleaner is a cushy job?? You think being a teacher is a cushy job??
/r/PurplePillDebate01/08/24 02:22 AM

You think nursing is a cushy office job? 🤣
/r/PurplePillDebate01/08/24 01:47 AM

What does this have to do with either your ignorance or your lies? Women have started working in many previously malr-dominated fields, becoming the majority of some of those fields. Other fields remain male-dominated, the same way many fields are female-dominated.
/r/PurplePillDebate31/07/24 11:53 PM

There’s a reason you didn’t answer my questions.
/r/PurplePillDebate31/07/24 11:07 PM

Why would a woman need an excuse not to go into a field? Do men need an excuse for not being dental hygienists?
/r/PurplePillDebate31/07/24 10:42 PM

Probably with all the male dental hygienists, preschool teachers, house cleaners, and administrative assistants.
/r/PurplePillDebate31/07/24 10:26 PM

We’re talking 4 years of undergrad and 9 times out of 10 post graduate school. More women do this than men…
/r/PurplePillDebate31/07/24 10:09 PM

So why haven't women then started working in male labor fields? Is this a joke? Are you not aware of all the fields that used to be male-dominated and aren’t anymore?
/r/PurplePillDebate31/07/24 10:04 PM
1

Good luck with it. Like I said, I’d never use it.
/r/PurplePillDebate30/07/24 07:58 PM

I think you’re really underestimating the problem. 10% of women on dating apps report receiving threats of physical violence. This isn’t Airbnb.
/r/PurplePillDebate30/07/24 07:38 PM
1

How can that be handled with verification? If 5 guys report me as a “foodie call” because I didn’t have sex with them, what would the app verify?
/r/PurplePillDebate30/07/24 07:04 PM
1

I thought you were trolling, but you genuinely don’t understand the difference between descriptive and prescriptive?
/r/PurplePillDebate30/07/24 03:51 PM
2

This is the nature of dating strangers. I’d never use a dating app that allowed men I rejected to rate me.
/r/PurplePillDebate30/07/24 03:22 PM
1

And that’s not an answer to the question. You don’t need to pretend to respond to my question if you just want to rant about sonmething unrelated.
/r/PurplePillDebate30/07/24 02:11 PM
1

That isn’t the question.
/r/PurplePillDebate30/07/24 01:31 PM
4

Tyson. I don’t fuck on the first date, but I don’t think it’s objectionable for someone to want to.
/r/PurplePillDebate30/07/24 09:18 AM

The person who said they knew how most women would behave because of what they’ve “seen” is YOU. But you’ve followed that up with complete garbage and speculation. This is too stupid.
/r/PurplePillDebate30/07/24 09:10 AM
7

and probably lust for him It’s incredibly weird that you keep telling me what you imagine women think as proof of what other women would do. Your imagination is not “proof” of what “most women” would do.
/r/PurplePillDebate30/07/24 09:04 AM
8

Well, the number of concert tickets he’s ever sold is about 1% of the amount you just claimed paid him for photos. Let’s just guess 1% of concert-goers buys backstage passes. So that’s 0.01% of what you claimed. You’re only a few hundred million off!
/r/PurplePillDebate30/07/24 08:55 AM
9

You’ve completely destroyed your point? You claimed you could speculate about “most women” because of what you’ve “seen.” Then you proceeded to blatantly lie about what you’ve “seen,” only to replace it with a different speculation. would debase themselves to the nth degree for a single night with the man. You’re imagining something about a group of women and then claiming that proof of how most women behave. It’s embarrassing that you still think you have a point to defend.
/r/PurplePillDebate30/07/24 08:47 AM
3

And neither is related to this conversation.
/r/PurplePillDebate30/07/24 08:04 AM
13

hundreds of millions of women who pay upwards of thousands of dollars for pictures of him grabbing their asses You cannot believe this. The population of the US is over 300 million people. You think the equivalent of a US population has paid Chris Brown to touch their butt on camera? If he spent one minute on each woman, and worked 24 hours a day touching butts, it would take over 600 hundred years to do what you claim. This says something alright 🙄
/r/PurplePillDebate30/07/24 07:59 AM
16

What in the world could you “see” that proves most women would do this??
/r/PurplePillDebate30/07/24 07:38 AM
7

I just asked you if “men are criminals.” You said no. Now they are?
/r/PurplePillDebate30/07/24 07:35 AM
13

If 100,000 criminal men don’t make men criminals, the baby mamas of Elon and Cannon don’t make women “willing to share.”
/r/PurplePillDebate30/07/24 07:10 AM
7

The generalization is about women. hypergamy and about how women are willing to share certain men?
/r/PurplePillDebate30/07/24 06:59 AM
8

Would you say “men are criminals?”
/r/PurplePillDebate30/07/24 06:57 AM
17

It’s a slippery slope to take such isolated incidents and make generalizations about a gender. Over 100,000 men are in prison in the US. What conclusion should I draw about men?
/r/PurplePillDebate30/07/24 06:54 AM

/r/PurplePillDebate29/07/24 08:30 PM
2

Sorry, do you imagine that study is about casual sex only? Why?
/r/PurplePillDebate29/07/24 08:25 PM

disproves that the average sexual partner for women is less than 4. If it did, what would that tell us about how much casual sex the average woman has? Nothing. Does it tell us women have casual sex more often than “rarely?” No.

Most women go for casual sex, atleast a couple of times. Yes, and doing something a few times in your life is doing it rarely. The vast majority of women have fewer than 10 sex partners. Only a portion of those are casual.
/r/PurplePillDebate29/07/24 07:46 PM

Men stay within their league As if men are turning down sex with women above or below their league 🤣
/r/PurplePillDebate29/07/24 07:21 PM
2

Good luck being with her. And no one else, since it’s important to you that your partner is the most attractive person to you.
/r/PurplePillDebate29/07/24 06:16 PM
1

Sounds like Megan Fox is the most attractive woman in the world to you. Are you dating her?
/r/PurplePillDebate29/07/24 06:13 PM
2

I certainly did not. But if they were the cream of the crop to you, they wouldn’t be the cream of the crop that’s available to you. there would be no qualifier. The most attractive person in the world to me is Michael Fassbender. If I were dating Michael Fassbender, he’d just be the cream of the crop. Not the cream of the crop that’s available to me.
/r/PurplePillDebate29/07/24 06:06 PM

That doesn’t sound like the most attractive person in the world. It's important that my partner is the most attractive person to me in the world
/r/PurplePillDebate29/07/24 05:46 PM

In another thread, you said: Bro if I had the options they have, I would choose the absolute cream of the crop as well. Who are you choosing?
/r/PurplePillDebate29/07/24 05:34 PM

I’m sure this is the case. I’m a little on the older side, and have to admit that I’m a little jealous of women growing up now. Being a young woman in the 90s/00s was a really terrible experience. You couldn’t live a full life without enduring constant interruptions, and most of it was negging/harrassment. But it seems to me this isn’t just about hitting on people, but a decline in all in-person socialization.
/r/PurplePillDebate29/07/24 04:30 PM
2

Mating against your choice is “healthy.” That’s a take.
/r/PurplePillDebate29/07/24 04:24 PM
3

Let’s assume men’s are accurate then. CDC says the average man has about 6 lifetime sex partners (median body count for men 24-49). https://www.cdc.gov/nchs/nsfg/key_statistics/n-keystat.htm Assuming most people are in a few relationships throughout their life, we’re talking up to 3 casual sex partners ever?
/r/PurplePillDebate29/07/24 04:13 PM
3

The majorly of men I’ve gone on dates with I did not consider having sex with, casual or otherwise.
/r/PurplePillDebate29/07/24 03:31 PM
4

Good luck!
/r/PurplePillDebate29/07/24 03:22 PM
18

Your source: The median body count for women up to 49 years old is: 4.3 75% of women up to 49 years old have body counts of less than 10. This confirms what I said: Most women rarely go for casual sex
/r/PurplePillDebate29/07/24 03:16 PM
4

I think your idea of a date may be different than mine.
/r/PurplePillDebate29/07/24 03:06 PM

Yes, they do it rarely, meaning “not often” or “seldom.”
/r/PurplePillDebate29/07/24 02:57 PM
6

People rarely buy houses =/= homeownership is rare. My comment: Most women rarely go for casual sex Your source confirms it.
/r/PurplePillDebate29/07/24 02:51 PM
6

Cite your sources. I’ve never seen a reputable study with averages in the double digits over a lifetime.
/r/PurplePillDebate29/07/24 02:49 PM
8

Wanting sex =/= going for casual sex.
/r/PurplePillDebate29/07/24 02:43 PM

Are you referring to one of the linked studies? Or the online survey they did for the article?
/r/PurplePillDebate29/07/24 02:42 PM
7

more than half of young people aged 18-25 have had at least one casual sex encounter in their life. Are you saying this isn’t rare? The linked study says the lifetime casual sex partner count for young women is TWO. Less than one ever two years.
/r/PurplePillDebate29/07/24 02:25 PM
5

I don’t know what to tell you. This seems like a normal part of life. I’m sure I’m not the most attractive woman my partner has been with. It has not occurred to me to care. And it’s not just about sex. Imagine you’re in a new situation and deciding which stranger to make conversation with. You’re going to pick someone who looks interesting, based on their clothes or general appearance. But years later, you’re really not going to care that your wife doesn’t wear the most attention-attracting out…
/r/PurplePillDebate29/07/24 02:17 PM
6

The average woman does not hook up a lot. I’ve never seen a reputable study of lifetime sexual partners that hits double digits.
/r/PurplePillDebate29/07/24 01:54 PM
5

Rarely would mean most women have 0, and a few have a few, and maybe the outliers would have more. Nope. Rarely means “not often” or “seldom.” I’ve been to IKEA several times. I go to IKEA about once every other year. I rarely go to IKEA. All of these statements are true. “ Several is average if not above average, that’s a lot if ur trying to say women rarely go for it at all.” There are many things the average person does rarely. Those are not in conflict.
/r/PurplePillDebate29/07/24 01:46 PM

I’m not following?
/r/PurplePillDebate29/07/24 01:39 PM
0

Several casual interactions ever = rarely.
/r/PurplePillDebate29/07/24 01:33 PM
53

I’m not sure what is confusing about this. Most women rarely go for casual sex, if ever. If a woman is seeking a primarily sexual interaction, she’s going to do it with someone she’s very attracted to.
/r/PurplePillDebate29/07/24 01:26 PM
1

Of course it does. It literally does not break the deal. You’re perfectly willing to date a single mom if you can’t find someone else. That’s a preference.
/r/PurplePillDebate29/07/24 02:19 AM
1

I think your confusion stems from the assumption that others think of their “dealbreakers” like preferences, as you do. I don’t date men with kids. That’s a dealbreaker for me. I’ve turned down a lot of divorced dads. I would always prefer to be single than date a single dad, or violate any of my other dealbreakers. It sounds like you value being in a relationship more than anything else.
/r/PurplePillDebate29/07/24 02:06 AM
2

Why do you pretend it’s a “hard dealbreaker,” if you’re willing to compromise on it to avoid being single?
/r/PurplePillDebate29/07/24 12:46 AM
3

But if you were disfigured in a fire and not considered attractive, would you prefer to be single or date a single mom?
/r/PurplePillDebate29/07/24 12:34 AM
3

In any other case, you would prefer to be single than date a single mom. A lot of people have similar feelings about their standards.
/r/PurplePillDebate29/07/24 12:31 AM
4

But you claim that you would NEVER date a single mom. It’s a “hard dealbreaker.” It’s easy to imagine a lot of accidents that could decrease your attractiveness to make it difficult to find a partner. But you’re claiming that there’s no situation in which you’d lower your standards. Is it not true that you’d rather be single than with a single mom? Were you just bluffing?
/r/PurplePillDebate29/07/24 12:13 AM
6

only makes you less likely to find your partner That’s a feature, not a bug. People raise their standards because they realize they’d rather be single than date someone who doesn’t meet the higher standard.
/r/PurplePillDebate28/07/24 11:43 PM
3

Yeah, if you’re saying “I think we should make sure this is the baby YOU gave birth to, by making sure it matches YOUR DNA,” no one will assume you think she’s cheating.
/r/PurplePillDebate27/07/24 08:32 PM
2

If you think the baby was switched at birth, you can test the mother.
/r/PurplePillDebate27/07/24 08:00 PM
1

we can agree that they used to swipe right/find attractive You want to lump these together. I think you’re incorrect to do so, and continue to disagree with you.
/r/PurplePillDebate27/07/24 05:23 PM
1

I don’t see how men’s swiping habits are relevant to this conversation. Yes, men swipe right on almost everyone. That doesn’t say anything about women’s swiping habits or how selective women are.
/r/PurplePillDebate27/07/24 05:17 PM
1

That may be the way you use swipe dating apps. It’s not how most women use swipe dating apps. Attractive men get left-swiped because of profile content (or lack thereof) frequently.
/r/PurplePillDebate27/07/24 05:01 PM
1

I absolutely think it would have been lower. Many Tinder profiles are empty, but most OKCupid profiles had a lot of content. Between the profile content and the question answers, OKCupid was about compatibility. That was the point of the platform. It was much easier to find big incompatibilities in potential matches. Swiping is not just about physical attractiveness.
/r/PurplePillDebate27/07/24 04:55 PM
1

My point remains the same: Swiping isn’t just about physical attractiveness. It isn’t a “semantic” difference. There’s zero reason to think OK Cupid users would have swiped right on 20% of men.
/r/PurplePillDebate27/07/24 04:34 PM
1

There are no “swipe stats” from OK Cupid 15 years ago!
/r/PurplePillDebate27/07/24 04:21 PM
1

Your original comment did not compare the selectiveness of women to men. You used two data points that are not equivalent to show that women have gotten more selective.
/r/PurplePillDebate27/07/24 04:01 PM
1

Obviously women are more selective than men.
/r/PurplePillDebate27/07/24 01:46 AM
0

It doesn’t matter what the majority of profiles are like if women are swiping such a small percentage. I’ve never swiped right on an empty profile.
/r/PurplePillDebate27/07/24 01:19 AM

So, the idea is that women are “angry” that men want to use this woman for sex?
/r/PurplePillDebate27/07/24 01:18 AM
-1

Swiping isn’t just about physical attractiveness.
/r/PurplePillDebate27/07/24 01:11 AM

Has sexual skills - as evidence by the meme she created So men don’t like inexperienced low n-count women?
/r/PurplePillDebate27/07/24 01:10 AM

In individual cases about very specific things, sure. But when it comes to men complaining about general trends How does this make sense?? Why should I care more about trends of experiences that individual experiences, if they are still not as bad as what’s happening to women? Men overwhelmingly complain about not having access to women. Women overwhelmingly complain about men doing bad things to them. Someone harming you is always worse than someone leaving you alone, at an individual level or …
/r/PurplePillDebate26/07/24 09:42 AM

Then I still have no idea what you’re trying to say here. I shouldn’t discount men’s complaints because I don’t discount women’s complaints, but apparently I’m still supposed to weigh men and women’s complaints based on my perception of which is worse.
/r/PurplePillDebate26/07/24 09:22 AM

Just to be clear, let’s say I’m hanging out with a female friend and a male friend. Female friend complains that she’s being sexually harassed at work. Male friend complains that his coworker does not want to go out with him. You think I should give equal weight to these complaints, yes?
/r/PurplePillDebate26/07/24 09:10 AM

It's kind if arrogant to say that dating your own gender is "perfectly normal" when it quite literally goes without saying that the same is not true the other way around I honestly have no idea what you’re trying to say here, or with the entire post honestly.
/r/PurplePillDebate26/07/24 08:57 AM

I lived through Donald Trumps 4am tweet rants. The only way women are more emotional than men in politics is if you pretend that most emotions are not emotions.
/r/PurplePillDebate26/07/24 08:40 AM

Can’t? We aren’t trying to.
/r/PurplePillDebate26/07/24 03:18 AM

I’ll interpret “ran by women” as “with women’s rights.” Yes, countries with women’s rights do have more women leaving marriages they entered too young.
/r/PurplePillDebate26/07/24 12:46 AM

Almost all relationships at this age are doomed to fail. I see this scenario happening a lot especially with women 18-24 the relationship is unsustainable with that large of a looks mismatch, and is doomed to fail. For example, marriages starting when the woman is under 24 have some of the highest divorce rates. There’s zero reason to think her relationship with a 4/10 guy was “sustainable.”
/r/PurplePillDebate26/07/24 12:35 AM
1

Oh, I see where you mean, you’re asking “why do you expect the tank to be full of gas instead of water or something else?” My expectations would be around the person, not the requirements. Let’s say I had a diesel vehicle, and a random person told me they took my car to the gas station and filled it up, I would NOT expect they filled it with diesel even though the car requires diesel. Dating requirements are like having a diesel vehicle. You know what fuel it needs. You don’t necessarily think a…
/r/PurplePillDebate25/07/24 03:59 PM
1

But you had to invent the communication, which is the only thing that created the expectation. I always expect people to be and do what they SAY, because they said it, not because of my requirements. If someone says the tank is empty or full, I expect it to be so. If someone says the convertible top is up or down, I expect it to be so. That obviously has nothing to do with the requirements to operate the car. The expectations are not related to the requirements. > So if a woman has requirements,…
/r/PurplePillDebate25/07/24 03:08 PM
1

Therefore when someone says the tank is full Explain this part of the metaphor.
/r/PurplePillDebate25/07/24 02:29 PM
5

You switch from asking about “requirements” to “expectations,” which muddies the waters. I don’t expect much from anyone I don’t know. But I’m not going to bother spending time dating unless certain standards are met. Think about any other preference: “I expect every restaurant to serve seafood” - unreasonable “I’d rather cook at home unless I’m going out for seafood” - reasonable
/r/PurplePillDebate25/07/24 01:58 PM

They are still with someone who is not hot.
/r/PurplePillDebate24/07/24 06:19 PM

If that’s the last unmarried candidate, women have never had the opportunity to vote for an unmarried president.
/r/PurplePillDebate24/07/24 06:19 PM

We’re not discussing the veracity of the claim. We’re discussing whether the claim is made. You say it is not: Nobody denies that average dudes have sex. I’m saying I see that claim on this sub frequently.
/r/PurplePillDebate24/07/24 03:50 PM
5

Are you agreeing with me or disagreeing with me? Men here frequently claim that average guys never have sex. Yes or no?
/r/PurplePillDebate24/07/24 03:29 PM
6

An average dude has 1-2 sexual partners in his whole life I’ve never seen a study with such a low number for the US. Nobody denies that average dudes have sex. I see that claim on this sub every day.
/r/PurplePillDebate24/07/24 03:14 PM
3

hot being a -requirement- for attraction For whom? I don’t know what you’re referring to.
/r/PurplePillDebate24/07/24 02:15 PM
7

On a pure attraction basis, women would rather die alone than be with someone not hot. You might say, "obviously!" but that is not true Of course it’s not true. Men would rather be with a below average woman than die alone. Which has to relevance to the fact that people prefer to sleep with hot people. Women are willing to have transactional sex; trading sexual access for children, support, and security. The existence of sex workers prove that men are also willing to have transactional sex.
/r/PurplePillDebate24/07/24 02:05 PM
1

if the average man had sex with women be finds attractive it would distribute in a bell curve What data are you theoretically graphing here? What is the x axis and the y axis?
/r/PurplePillDebate24/07/24 12:50 PM
14

So, women would rather die alone than be with someone not-hot… AND women will be with someone not-hot to have a family. Sure, that makes total sense.
/r/PurplePillDebate24/07/24 12:15 PM
7

I don’t think the men who have the most sex are doing it for healthy reasons either.
/r/PurplePillDebate24/07/24 12:05 PM
23

women prefer dying alone to being with someone that isn’t hot. Whats your explanation for the majority of men having had sex and relationships?
/r/PurplePillDebate24/07/24 12:02 PM
5

Where does this source address the outcomes of children in marriages “even if the parents hate each other.”
/r/PurplePillDebate24/07/24 11:57 AM
6

No, women who are relatively average still have incredible ease of access to sex compared to men That’s a completely different conversation. You compared men to men, and I compared women to women. In both cases, there’s an uneven distribution of sex and sex partners, with a small percentage having waaaaay more than average.
/r/PurplePillDebate24/07/24 11:22 AM

What does this have to do with my question?? Why did you bring up presidents?
/r/PurplePillDebate24/07/24 11:14 AM
6

And if I compared the amount of sex I had to the women who had the most sex, it would seem like nothing too.
/r/PurplePillDebate24/07/24 11:12 AM

When was the last time a major party ran a presidential candidate who was not married?
/r/PurplePillDebate24/07/24 11:06 AM

How many US presidents can you name who were single men? Even among democrats, the answer is pretty much zero! How in the world does this prove that “women”have any issue with singleness??
/r/PurplePillDebate24/07/24 10:26 AM
12

No one thinks it’s a myth that hot people can have sex with more people! People think it’s a myth that it means that the majority of men don’t have sex, because every study says otherwise AND because it’s obviously false to anyone who has a normal social life.
/r/PurplePillDebate24/07/24 10:08 AM
85

You want people to “debate” the position that people prefer having sex with hot people?
/r/PurplePillDebate24/07/24 09:49 AM
2

You haven’t seen any evidence that it’s false either.
/r/PurplePillDebate24/07/24 09:44 AM
3

If every “research” shows that, it should be easy to cite some sources.
/r/PurplePillDebate24/07/24 09:36 AM

Why can’t half the population have any impact on society??
/r/PurplePillDebate24/07/24 04:10 AM
11

Gross.
/r/PurplePillDebate22/07/24 11:08 PM
13

Yes, and the “girlfriend experience” is a product offered by professionals, not something it’s fair to expect without reciprocation. It’s like expecting your buddy to clean your house every week for free.
/r/PurplePillDebate22/07/24 10:42 PM
6

After getting over the anger phase There are some bizarre assumptions here.
/r/PurplePillDebate22/07/24 09:58 PM

Right, so the conclusion is that fashion is not for men’s attraction, since they don’t care.

I’m a woman who has dated casually and seriously. The only time I’ve had issues with men who date casually is when they have no boundaries. They didn’t want to be serious, but they wanted to act serious. They’d get cranky if I didn’t spend “enough” free time with them or prioritize them over my friends (who would still be there in the future). They’d want a lot of emotional support. They’d want me to spend time with their friends and family. But these things are investments, and they’d already t…

/r/PurplePillDebate22/07/24 09:35 PM

But if men were attracted to last year’s fashion, there’s no “need” for this year’s fashion. If men liked low-rise pants, I didn’t need to buy high-waisted pants when they came into fashion, if male attraction were the goal.
/r/PurplePillDebate22/07/24 09:34 PM

I agree with you. I think capitalism is the foundation of “fashion,” not male attraction.

Dating multiple people has only been around for about a decade. It used to be that when two people liked each other enough to go out on dates that meant they would be loyal This is laughably false. In the US, there was a weird blip in the 90s when exclusivity could often be assumed, but that’s it. There was no 'talk' it was just an unspoken rule. No, even 75 years ago there was a difference between dating and “going steady.”

Not equivalent at all. The man had an opportunity to choose the labor that gave him the currency. He had the opportunity to negotiate the rate and the schedule. He wasn’t given $20 and then told to spend an hour cleaning toilets.

(I know you could reverse the genders here but the term "one that got away" is generally used by girls in context to men) I’ve only seen this in reverse. My female friends never talk about this, but I’ve heard a lot of guys say this or something that implies this.

Now you’re moving the goalpost again. We’ve already established that we are not talking about “expectations.” I don't care what people do of their own free will. I think the critical part of the definition is “unfair.” As a society, we’ve decided that people “deserve” equal access to certain things- school, jobs, eating at restaurants, staying at hotels, etc. We’ve also decided that people don’t “deserve” equal shots at other things. If a man only wants to date blonds, or a woman only wants to date tall men, we might think they would benefit from some self-reflection, but we don’t think it’s “unfair” that others don’t get to date those particular people.…

Most people generally have an idea of what they want at their point in life But unless they are ONLY to no strings attached sex, they DO NOT know if they want it from the person they’re going on a first date with. I'm fairly certain the guy who was thinking about having short term flings isn't gonna end up in a relationship often. lol, this is how a lot of relationships start.
/r/PurplePillDebate16/07/24 02:53 AM

can't mention your intentions from the start I don’t KNOW my intentions when I just start dating someone. That’s what the dating is for. instead of just saying whats obviously going to happen ("lets go back to my place" as opposed to "lets have sex") I’m not sure I’m going to have sex with someone until we’re in private and start messing around! If I don’t like the make out session, I don’t have sex. You’re mischaracterizing getting to know someone as manipulation.

For online dating, Pew research says: 11% of women under 50 have received threats of physical harm. For men it’s 4%. 37% of women under 50 have been called offensive names. For men it’s 18%. Obviously some of those threats and insults are a reaction to being rejected. If you are a man going on a date with a woman, there are real world circumstances that make “benevolent sexism” rational. It is likely that: - your date is taking more of a risk than you are - your date had and has more other options - your date is younger than you (has less time to advance professionally) - your date makes less money than you, even if you’re the same age - your date puts more effort (and money) into her physical appearance Also, you’re probably not looking for a partner who bri…

It's fair to extrapolate marriage dynamics to LTRs, especially when you have millions participants and statistical points over decades. That makes no sense. I can afford health insurance. Through my job. But I can’t sign up for it, because I can’t get divorced. I do believe this would be good for society And you’ve provided zero reason.
/r/PurplePillDebate13/07/24 03:20 PM

Thank you for proving my point by sending me a source about how a spouse can get recourse by consulting a DIVORCE attorney. You can get recourse in family court because you are getting DIVORCED “ The court will have the authority to review the value of all marital property prior to the divorce including the value of the joint bank accounts. The family court judge will also have the authority to divide the funds equitably.”
/r/PurplePillDebate13/07/24 03:17 PM

Of course it is. The reason I can’t afford health insurance is because I cannot divorce the husband who has abandoned me. If I could divorce him, I could get subsidized insurance through work, because divorce is a qualifying event. Abandonment is not. If I could divorce him, only my income would be used to price healthcare plans on the marketplace, not his. There are no legal grounds to sue anyone for taking money out of an account that has their name on it, married or not. Who chose this abuser out of all available people? I don’t know what that means? If you marry someone at 25, and they get into a car crash at 55 that gives them a personality-changing traumatic brain injury, that says nothing about who you picked. So the stats for marriages contradict your logic. I don’t think so. There are reasons that some reasons relationships end before marriage, and other reasons that some relationships end after marriage. The calculations are really different, especially when kids are involved. It’s also not the case that every breadwinner thinks they should do less housework. There’s no recourse for your spouse draining your life savings from the joint account except divorce. If we stay married, there is no recourse.

Did not watch video, but dated a bit as a woman in my late 30s. I matched more with men younger than me, but generally not more than 5 years (but that was probably my age range setting). One of the theories about Gen Z is that they’re having less sex because they’re getting drunk less. Who is to say whether that drunken sex was good or bad? And there’s still a percentage of people waiting for marriage, and a new group of kids identifying as asexual.

Like the other paragraph where you also talk about first dates? From the very first date with a guy, most are already expecting the guy to pay for their meals and cater to them. It must be really devastating to realize that women don’t love you on the first date!

/r/PurplePillDebate03/07/24 11:34 PM

I’m getting the feeling that a lot of folks here missed the memo on how to behave with strangers. Acting confident doesn’t mean acting like someone else. It means acting like you are spending time with someone who has not yet proven that they are worthy of emotional intimacy… because that is the case! It is HONEST to treat a date like someone you barely know instead of a partner. That is who they are.
/r/PurplePillDebate03/07/24 11:20 PM

Of course it is. You should be acting noncommittal with people you just met because you should not be ready to commit to people you just met! It is NORMAL not to be really attached to someone you’ve spent a few hours with on a few dates. They are A STRANGER. Relationships are about BUILDING trust and attachment based on people’s actual personality and actions over time.

Bro! YOU are the one saying that people should be looking for compatible partners but NOT talking about financial goals. Now YOU are saying that financial goals are compatibility and that people should have “already had that discussion.” You can’t have it both ways. If it’s reasonable to divorce over something 10 or 30 years in, it’s not asinine to talk about it before you get married.
/r/PurplePillDebate01/07/24 10:13 PM

Paint the picture for me. My husband refuses to save for retirement. I put money in a 401k. Your plan is that we talk about this… at 62? If you marry a compatible partner, those discussions need to happen and if by chance your goals do not align then by all means walk away. So, we married “compatible” partners, then figured out our goals aren’t aligned… so we “walk away” at 62?? That’s the recommendation?

Match in what sense? If a man makes $33k, is his financematch a woman who makes $33k? Or is his financematch a woman who makes $25k (the median for single women’s income where $33k is the median for single men) Is the match the same, or the equivalent percentile?

Men lead with sex via the shot-gun approach because again it’s the most optimal play for them. if the 25+ men you go on a date with lead with sex, it’s entirely on you for picking these men Men lead with sex? Or only some of them?

And no, most of them weren't busy either. Most of them had one or both spouses working at home to watch the kids and a lot of the dirtiest rooms didn't even have kids or a spouse. You’re talking about people watching kids while working full time jobs not being busy? That’s the claim here? 🤪

In your mind, the top 5% of men are currently available because women haven’t asked them out?
/r/PurplePillDebate30/06/24 07:47 PM

Men are seen as thirsty because their behavior reflects the actual truth that random sex provides more benefit to men and less risk to men. Men are more likely to enjoy and orgasm from sex with randos. Men are less likely to get STDs or harmed during sex with randos. Men pursue sex with randos. This is rational behavior. It’s not rocket science.

Many men tolerate relationships with women they don't like because those women are the only options they had in years You’re proving my point. If I ask a guy out, he may say yes and date me for years, even though he doesn’t like me.
/r/PurplePillDebate30/06/24 06:26 PM

Many men will tolerate a relationship with a women they do not even like if it was easy to get. Healthy women aren’t afraid of being rejected by men, they’re (rightly) afraid of NOT being rejected. They’re afraid of someone wasting years of their life when they don’t love them and aren’t committed to them.

I’m a woman who goes 50/50, and I think there are valid points here. There are men who seek out partners who are younger than them (which usually translates into broke) and who are done up (which means spending their discretionary funds on makeup, clothes, etc), then they complain about having to pay for dinner. Bro, what did you expect? It’s like wanting to date a woman who wears heels, but making her walk from the parking lot with you instead of dropping her off at the door. I’m happy to pay 5…

Women can comment all day about why they prefer to date men with social lives. But it isn’t going to answer your question. Because we have absolutely no clue why men care so little! Dating men who are completely reliant on me for 100% of their social connection is a complete nightmare for me. It’s an impossible burden that makes my world smaller and smaller until I end the relationship.

are dating apps designed to suck in general or are men's in particular at fault for being bad? Both? A lot of men’s profiles suck on a fundamental level. I’m not talking about not being able to make yourself look good, but just the ability to present oneself at all. I swiped left soooo many times because I had no idea what the person looked like. About half of kids are born out of wedlock. About half of marriages end in divorce. The idea that women are or should trade their childbirth for a husband is not rooted in reality. Men get married because they want to be married. Men in high demand (money, tall, educated) get married and stay married more than other men. Because they want to.

Cool beans. My boyfriend is Korean and I have friends in Korea. I don’t think that makes me an expert, but I guess that qualifies me as an expert to you. I think there’s a misalignment of standards and perceived entitlements. Some men think they deserve one kind of lady. But they’ll actually date almost any kind of lady. And it makes them mad. The air you breathe is not toxic because of government-funded programs. The food you eat is inspected. The water you drink is heavily subsidized. Your electricity probably relies on government funded dams or power plants. Any medication you take was informed by government sponsored research and regulated. Any time you send or receive mail, you’re getting a handout. $3000 is nothing, and you are a drain on the system.

Based on what? How are you measuring these levels? And why would it matter? If women are negatively affected by social media, and men are negatively affected by porn AND social media, neither porn or social media need to negatively affect men to the “same level” to have a devastating affect cumulatively.

It’s bizarre to watch all of this news coverage of abortion bans having devastating impacts on individual women and access to health care for all affected women… and then think women want liberal partners because of social media programming. We just want to live bro.

Mentally strong, never has breakdowns or is lost, you cant corner him in a situation where he is "stressed" or depressed. It’s great that you’ve managed to pull this off for 5 years of adulthood… but I’m a lot older than you, and don’t know anyone who has. Not because of personal weakness, but because that’s the nature of life. If you’re not stressed or depressed when your kid is in the hospital or your spouse has cancer, you’re not human.

Completely depends on his personality. The majority of men have gotten married and/or had kids by his age. What’s his romantic history? Did he always have these goals, or are they new? What’s his social life like? Is he able to maintain other relationships, like friendships?

So then it’s obviously completely dishonest to make statements about every waking moment of other people. Is this just complete solipsism on your part?? “I feel invisible and am not having the sex I want so therefore it never happens?”
/r/PurplePillDebate19/06/24 11:36 PM
2

No. You said average guys spend EVERY WAKING MOMENT invisible to women unless he’s perfect. EVERY MOMENT. The majority of men GET MARRIED = you are a lying liar who lies. You had 8 years of visible moments = you are a lying liar who lies.
/r/PurplePillDebate19/06/24 11:25 PM
2

Yeah, my crazy bias for thinking married guys aren’t invisible to women and that guys actively having sex aren’t practically involuntarily celebrate 🤪
/r/PurplePillDebate19/06/24 11:18 PM
1

Of course you wouldn’t. You lied about your experiences because you believe that your actual problems don’t deserve sympathy.
/r/PurplePillDebate19/06/24 11:12 PM
2

At this point, I can’t tell whether you’re even aware of how full of shit you are. But rest assured, I’ve learned a lot about your male experience. You value your partners so little that you’ll pretend they don’t exist if it means getting the smallest amount of sympathy or leverage in a conversation with a complete stranger. You look at these women who have shared their bodies and lives with you, and you round them down to “practically” zero. You “might as well” have had nothing. You come across…
/r/PurplePillDebate19/06/24 10:16 PM
2

But you are specifically practically NOT that. You have sex and could have more sex.
/r/PurplePillDebate19/06/24 10:06 PM

sex doesnt really matter. YOU. BROUGHT. IT. UP. No one asked you to pretend to be involuntarily celibate. Feel free to explain why you did it.

average men spend every waking moment being invisible This guy: Was married for 8 years Had multiple other relationships Has an FWB Brags about the women he’s rejected That’s not invisible.
/r/PurplePillDebate19/06/24 09:59 PM

Yeah, the only thing holding you back is the sex you’re having 🤪
/r/PurplePillDebate19/06/24 08:57 PM

Lol, frame you?? Yeah, I tricked you into pretending to be an incel right after bragging about fucking your FWB.
/r/PurplePillDebate19/06/24 08:52 PM

Being fulfilled with women Im actually attracted to is a different topic which is what I was talking about in this post. Thanks for finally being honest.
/r/PurplePillDebate19/06/24 08:49 PM
2

Men are invisible to women, but you married your dream girl, have had other relationships, have a FWB, and brag about the women you’ve rejected because of your standards. You’re basically an incel, but have sex. You live a life of quiet desperation, but your life is fine. No lies detected. It’s so weird that women don’t understand the male experience!
/r/PurplePillDebate19/06/24 08:44 PM
2

Today: Dude Im basically invisible now. I might as well be an incel crying in moms basement. 9 Days ago: im watching a movie tonight with my fwb after work and afterwards some sexy time. my life is just fine i’M nOt lYiNG!!
/r/PurplePillDebate19/06/24 08:23 PM

You complain about women not understanding the male experience… then proceed to lie to women about the male experience.
/r/PurplePillDebate19/06/24 08:10 PM

Lol, telling me that men are invisible to women and then telling me you spent 8 years married to your dream girl?? You are part of the problem.
/r/PurplePillDebate19/06/24 08:04 PM
1

Why would it do that?
/r/PurplePillDebate19/06/24 08:01 PM

What’s your motivation to lie and exageratte things being worse than they actually are? Surely you realize that once we realize you’re lying, we’re less understanding and empathetic?
/r/PurplePillDebate19/06/24 07:58 PM

Wow, I’m disputing a bullshit claim that you actually made, and your retort is to criticize a claim that I did not make. If you equate getting married to being invisible to women, that’s a you problem.
/r/PurplePillDebate19/06/24 07:48 PM
1

Again, you are telling me that your personal experience is the EXACT opposite of what you just claimed! You were NOT the maximum amount of human, and spent 8 years with your dream girl, and had a string of other relationships. Now you ARE the maximum amount of human, and are “basically invisible.” Are you listening to yourself?
/r/PurplePillDebate19/06/24 07:37 PM
0

Your metric wasn’t “not the same.” Your metric was every waking moment invisible unless they are maximum of amount human. It’s your choice to spout bullshit that’s disproven by your own lived experience! Don’t get mad at me for noticing.
/r/PurplePillDebate19/06/24 07:31 PM
2

The average man has sex and gets married by 30. I don’t think they are all the “maximum amount of human they can be.” The majority of men don’t even brush their teeth twice a day…
/r/PurplePillDebate19/06/24 07:15 PM
13

Possibly, but it would require a lot of terrible sex and failed attempts n the process, and a lot of safety concerns. the implicit permission to threaten the standards of normative behavior are working for her. Not really. Men are just more likely to actually get enjoyment from the activities that would be proposed. Almost no women would have an orgasm watching strangers have sex on a car in the woods, so there’s very little reason go consent to participate. Men aren’t saying yes out of charity,…

The results were garbage, and plenty of people said as much. He claimed to have “dates,” but no one even invited him anywhere. They were just convos.

women would date shorter weaker pasty men who have never seen the inside of a gym If a woman isn’t attracted to these men, why date at all? Even if he did get violent you are more likely to fight him off than a 6ft line backer. Most women murdered by a partner were murdered using a weapon, about half with guns.
/r/PurplePillDebate18/06/24 01:05 PM

Oh no! You didn’t find it compelling?!? Thanks for letting us know!
/r/PurplePillDebate18/06/24 02:52 AM

Am I an outlier? I doubt it. Plus I know so many badass women who are just like me. I’m in a similar spot, and am also surrounded by similar women. But it’s worth noting that it is statistically rare to be healthy, educated, financially independent, and childless at your (and my) age. There are plenty of us… but we’re still lucky.
/r/PurplePillDebate18/06/24 02:45 AM

Fraud is still illegal even when you’re married. A woman who forges her husbands signature or uses cards in his name without permission is still committing a crime.

The women I know tend to become less affectionate and adoring because they’ve been emotionally hurt or disrespected in the relationship, not because of the guy’s physicality. You have to be one more independent if you determine you can’t really count on someone.

Guess what all these men have in common: Divorce. Women aren't loyal in their heart, they're going to dump you as soon as they can find someone better. Russell Bramd decided to divorce his wife and told her by text message. Ben Stiller is literally not divorced! Tiger Woods cheated with on his wife repeatedly. Edit to add: Usher filed for divorce just months after his wife gave birth, which caused such complications that his wife was in a brief coma. Talk about weakest and darkest times…

Why do you keep moving the goalpost? Your post isn’t about what’s “an issue.” Your post isn’t about bans. Your post is about whether it’s as bad as intentionally spreading disease. If premarital sex is as bad as intentionally spreading disease, so is kissing. If you kissed anyone before marriage, you are as bad as anyone who has had sex before marriage. You don’t get bonus points for just risking spreading face herpes.
/r/PurplePillDebate17/06/24 06:49 AM
6

What? Having sex before marriage is as bad as intentionally spreading disease. (!) Kissing before marriage is as bad as intentionally spreading disease… unless one of you has given the other a magic piece of jewelry. This is too dumb.

How I’m “applying the definition?” What?
/r/PurplePillDebate17/06/24 06:37 AM

/r/PurplePillDebate17/06/24 06:34 AM

Are you joking? Of course it does not. Pre literally means BEFORE. That’s why affairs aren’t premarital affairs. They are extramarital affairs.
/r/PurplePillDebate17/06/24 06:29 AM

An issue? That’s not the discussion here. Do you believe kissing anyone before marriage is “as bad as purposely spreading disease?” Have you ever kissed anyone outside of marriage? Did your mother kiss your father before marriage?

Swingers basically may as well just be hook ups. And? Your post is about before and after marriage. polyamory rarely translated to actual marriage Polyamory =/= polygamy. You seem really ignorant about this.

Are you confused about the different definitions of entitled? You can google Miriam-Webster and see them both. A good test of whether you feel entitled as in the synonym for spoiled, is when you think you should get privileges that you don’t think other people should get. Do you think all people deserve the access to clean water? If yes, you believe that clean water is something everyone is entitled to have. Do you believe that you deserve clean water, but that other people do not? If so, YOU ar…
/r/PurplePillDebate17/06/24 05:50 AM

You stated the challenge was to get “dates.” Then you said “interested in seeing Abbey.” You are the only person trying to move the goalpost.
/r/PurplePillDebate16/06/24 09:53 PM

I’m saying it’s dishonest to claim you accomplished something you absolutely did not accomplish.
/r/PurplePillDebate16/06/24 09:48 PM

Does that mean I hold the reigns of power?!?! Sweet!
/r/PurplePillDebate15/06/24 08:54 PM

A small contingent of women took the reigns of power… which actually means that a lot of mostly men are in power but say they believe that women have human rights? Give me a break dude. Most people believe that black people have human rights. At no point in history did a small contingent of black civil rights leaders “take the reigns of power.” The first point does not in any way indicate the second point.
/r/PurplePillDebate15/06/24 08:40 PM

You said a small contingent of women took the reigns of power. You are not describing a small contingent of women taking the reigns of power.

What would be entitlement if not the belief that it’s OK to violate the human rights of others because they won’t have sex with you? You are proving the accusation of entitlement 100% correct.

However, if a man who's unattractive expresses frustration that is so hard to find a women these days Expresses frustration to whom? For what purpose? 50% of the population is male. Are you saying that MEN respond to dating frustration by saying, “male entitlement” and “misogyny?” Or are you saying that 50% of the population is understanding and empathetic, but you need it from women too?
/r/PurplePillDebate15/06/24 06:20 PM

However, the same logic doesn't apply to relationships with women. Women often remember the men who did the least for them. It doesn’t apply to any interpersonal relationships. If men didn’t care about women who didn’t put in effort, you wouldn’t have had any reason to make this post! You’re literally talking about men who bought CARS for women, and then saying women are the ones who like people who don’t put in effort. But we’re not the ones buying cars for people who don’t like us…
/r/PurplePillDebate15/06/24 05:33 PM

I think there’s a generation of women who saw their moms try to go 50/50, and ended up doing everything. My mom was the bigger earner, and did the majority of the housework, cooking, and kid duties.
/r/PurplePillDebate15/06/24 04:03 PM

Yeah, I have dick on tap Are women denying that it’s easy to find men who will fuck them? You can go to Two X and see women talk about how men with fuck anything that moves. This is not something that people deny.
/r/PurplePillDebate15/06/24 03:25 PM

All men want is for women to acknowledge Why? The reason women have needed men to acknowledge their privilege is to make sure laws and policies don’t exclude women from succeeding in public spheres of life. An example is ensuring that women don’t get fired when they are pregnant. Are there laws and policy changes you are lobbying for?

My impression from friends is that women spend a lot of time on dating sites in frustrating conversations. This leads them to get burned out and leave the apps. I’ve learned to unmatch quickly and often. It meant I had more patience to stay online and find a good match. I think that men looking for more serious connections would benefit from women unmatching more, because they’d stay on apps longer instead of getting turned off by men continuing to send them gross messages.

I read Jane Eyre in school and a bit of Fifty shades of grey. I read summary of pride and prejudice and even a book report by a classmate on that. I noticed a pattern, all males had one thing in common tall, handsome and rich. In the only book you claim to have read, the guy was specifically described as NOT TALL (“neither tall nor graceful”). Pride and Prejudice is full of men who are not tall, not handsome, or not rich. You picked three books, all by a British authors, two published in the ear…
