It’s like, ‘Millie, shut up. No.’ And I’m like, ‘Understood.’ Absolute king energy.

It was a word that had a definition, and then it started getting noticed by the mainstream internet and immediately got abused beyond meaning anything other than a generic insult for someone you disagree with.

Just a bunch of men going "gee, I wish I wasn't such a piece of shit". It's really telling how male feminists seem to assume that just because they're a socially incompetent borderline rapist incel that all men are like that.

You took it way too personally and aren't going to change anything by "go off kween"ing someone.

Marxism is not one sentence that identifies two groups and assigns them to classes There's a bit more to it than that but when you strip it back to its absolute essentials, that's pretty much what it is. Another important thing to note about marxism is that it's completely wrong, and all of its conclusions are bad. So obviously a feminism based on marxism would be bad, but that's largely down to marxism itself being inherently flawed rather than this specific reinterpretation somehow going wrong…

he’s still on your side Promoting a false narrative in an attempt to defend a particular ideology isn't "on our side". Especially when that ideology was instrumental in the creation of what he's attempting to denounce. he’s denouncing feminism and gender idealogy on its face While also attempting to defend the very system that created it - which isn't actually denouncing it at all. Why are y’all being scum bag pricks? All or nothing eh? Fucking Reddit assholes hiding being a keyboard You're gett…

I would much rather not have abortions at all, but if a country is going to allow women to unilaterally kill their children it should also allow men to unilaterally cede parental obligations. That is to say; no matter which side of the debate you come down on, equality should mean equal.

As with virtually every subreddit, exposure has accelerated its slide into a circlejerk shitpile. Not that it was ever really good per se - subreddits organised around snark rarely are - but its meteoric rise has caused a much faster degradation in quality than most subreddits.

Also, even if feminism doesn't see gender differences as a zero-sum conflict, it sees the power attained from the attention paid to them as one, which is why it attempts to monopolise discussion using phrases like "feminism is for men too!" and tries to squash any alternatives such as the MRM.

this guy is being respectful, informative, and sounds very intelligent in his case. He is neither informative, since that requires factual information being transmitted, nor is he sounding intelligent with his long rants trying to separate very obviously connected things.

Critical theory is a feminist invention. It has nothing to do with the left and never did. Uhh no, my dude. It's a marxist creation from from the mid 1900s. Traditional and Critical Theory was published in 1937. identity politics, which is a term invented by a feminist in the early 1980s, The Combahee River Collective who coined the term was a critical theorist group. Just in case it wasn't clear they were marxists, they published a paper called Capitalist Patriarchy and the Case for Socialist F…

The left adheres to universalism. Lol no it doesn't. Feminism has nothing to do with Marxism Radical feminism is literally marxism with "the bourgeois" changed to "men" and "the proletariat" changed to "women".

That's a lot of words that don't even slightly touch the undeniable fact that modern feminism and gender ideology is the latest evolution of critical theory, which is a leftist ideology. I get it - it's uncomfortable to look at these things as being part of "your" ideology, but that's how it be and ranting about it to us isn't going to change that. I simply reject all types of divisions of humanity into groups of "us" and "them" And yet here you are dividing people into "the real left" and "femi…

somehow Because he doesn't actually challenge their principles. In this very article he even says "women don't make up enough of the STEM field" and again the pernicious lie that the real problem is neglected men turning towards 'bad ideas' and not, you know, men being neglected.

Meh. NPR won't cover anything actually pro-male and frankly the way he frames a lot of this makes it clear he's not a male advocate, this book is just about diagnosing a problem rather than treating it.

What’s your reason for specifically labelling yourself an MRA rather than an egalitarian? You can be both. I like the label "MRA" though because it makes it clear that there are areas men are specifically disadvantaged, and I want to fight for those too.

Which bad faith questions? The ones that make them feel uncomfortable like "if feminism is for men too how does it help them?"

I frankly wouldn't care. You would, though. Because if you didn't care you wouldn't still be here :^)
