While many stories are shared across cultures (flood stories exist in nearly all cultures), assuming that A is stolen from B would require some evidence. Otherwise B may be stolen from A. Or A and B are independently told and similar (maybe because the said story is true). Saying the evidence is in the literature is a weak argument for origination.

My original point was bad parents do bad things to their children, whether they abuse them or arrange bad marriages… I.e. “prioritizing what THEY want”… good parents either wouldn’t do that or minimize it because they value their childrens needs more than their wants…

Correct… when men say “most women are attractive” what they are saying is “I find women attractive…” not “I would marry any woman no matter how dumb and crazy because I think women are attractive”

Bad parents are everywhere… here in the US they abuse their children, but they don’t arrange marriages. A bad parent will probably arrange a bad marriage… a good parent will probably arrange a good marriage… No systems perfect.

I have never send any evidence that pagan law migrated from northwestern Europe to the Middle East during antiquity. Roman law may have had an influence, but during antiquity the Roman’s were not considered pagans prior to Constantine (and really for a long time after). Birth control didn’t exist in a reliable fashion a thousand years ago… If I am co-opting wombs around the world, I am especially terrible at it.

Arranged marriages were not an institution, and while in the higher classes they had political benefits, for normal people there were other factors that drove it depending on the culture. Worldwide arranged marriages was a common mode throughout history…. They marrying for love phenomenon is very recent. The idea that pagans (and I assume you’re talking about Western Europe and not say Central America) had property rights and not kings isn’t accurate. Worldwide birth rates had to be fairly high …

Why would a woman’s family not be interested in her happiness? Chemistry? Good families want the best for their children. This sort of thing happened in the US to an extent when immigrant communities settled areas of the country… matching a nice boy from a good family or vice versa was common… Today it’s no different that “Johns single and Jane’s single and I think they would like each other, let’s set them up.” I am not necessarily an advocate of arranged marriages, but what goes on in the east…

Non western societies don’t have a vast welfare state, ESPECIALLY for immigrants. Hence people willing to clean a house or cook a meal instead of just collecting SNAP, Medicaid, section 8, pre paid cards for whatever… This used to exist in the US, where the basic expectation was that everyone worked in society, but that’s long gone.
/r/PurplePillDebate20/04/24 01:53 PM

Well a single woman who was educated may be a tutor for a wealthy family. MOST PEOPLE DIDN'T LIVE ALONE... Men or women... Particularly the poor or lower classes. The concept of a cosmopolitan single middle class male is nonsense. If you were poor and didn't want to marry and uneducated (which for the most part in 1600 poor = uneducated), you may be limited to some kind of domestic work (cook, servant, candlemaker)... Nuns were the one job any woman could do because it paid ZERO lol... No one wa…

/r/PurplePillDebate18/04/24 08:47 PM

throughout history education has been afforded by the wealthy. In western societies reading and writing was rare for both men and women until the Enlightenment when it became more and more commonly available to the masses. Western countries didn't just educate boys... What society are you referring to, Islamic countries? Until very recently gold digging wasn't a option for anyone, particularly uneducated women. Women in society read, wrote, and played multiple instruments SPECIFICALLY because ed…

The first sink fixin is free, after that just ask the wife "is Margie going to blow me or are you?", turns out there is actually a whole profession mainly staffed by men that do that sort of sink fixin work for a living.
/r/PurplePillDebate18/04/24 07:39 PM

I think the theory is that those Millennials and Gen Z's are going to put serious strain on the cat food and cat accessories industries in the coming years.
/r/PurplePillDebate18/04/24 07:37 PM

So I don't think this is true at all. I think this is mainly narrative framing. With women the framing is "where have all the good men gone". With men its "Incels are losers and its their fault" Both of those common narratives have the men at fault.
/r/PurplePillDebate18/04/24 07:33 PM

Ahh yes... A Handmaidens Tale Historical Records. This idea is nonsense, at least in western society. I am not saying it never happened, but it certainly wasn't the norm. If you were not interested in marriage it is far more likely that you would find your self a teacher or tutor or something than forced into marriage rape slavery.
/r/PurplePillDebate18/04/24 07:18 PM

Some men will have sex with anything living, dead or in between... how is this a win for lonely women? "Congratulations, there are men lined up outside your door to use you as a cum dumpster" isn't a loneliness solution.
/r/PurplePillDebate18/04/24 07:16 PM

I agree with this... the men that people talk about are mostly edge cases. Also agree on the 3/5/7th wheel thing... and I am not sure exactly why that is, but I never had much interest in being the extra wheel... I think that becomes even more pronounced when people have kids... a single 40 year old dude hanging out with young kids has a much different vibe than a single 40 year old woman...
/r/PurplePillDebate18/04/24 06:55 PM

/r/PurplePillDebate18/04/24 06:44 PM

That is a incredibly misinformed opinion. I got a degree prior to entering the military, in comparison college was slowly paced and required very little thought to complete, the students were not as intelligent, and standards were lower. 50% of the men in my field of expertise had a genius level IQ (98-99% percentile), and the others had traits that were important but didn't translate well to IQ (i.e. mechanical ability). If anything made these guys unattractive to women, it was that some of the…
/r/PurplePillDebate18/04/24 01:14 PM

Yes men are lacking friendships. Vulnerability has nothing to do with it. Focusing on video games and PornHubTubeWhatever has way more correlation.
/r/PurplePillDebate18/04/24 01:00 PM

This is exactly why I don't think these conceptual arguments translate well to reality.... If you are interested in a dude, you don't think "I won't go out with him unless he's dated/banged X women"... What's far more likely to occur is that if that attraction is there, you roll the dice... (and I think this applies both way Men to Women, Women to Men...).
/r/PurplePillDebate17/04/24 03:33 PM

This is a odd trope that I see repeated over and over. Men and women are different, and that translates to differences in what they are doing during sex... being on the bottom in missionary isn't being lazy...
/r/PurplePillDebate17/04/24 03:19 PM

well of course... if a dude would do ANY woman, that doesn't really make you attractive (and I am not saying this in a negative way... nearly everyone wants their partner to think they are special...). I'm not really sure how society has tossed this bit of common sense to the wayside.
/r/PurplePillDebate17/04/24 03:16 PM

But a high body count man doesn't correlate to well to "knowing what they are doing". There may even be a negative correlation.
/r/PurplePillDebate17/04/24 03:12 PM

I am not sure that the men that have high body counts care much... at least they didn't used to when they were in my friend groups... it was like they were racking up virgins on their way to 50 or 100 notches... I never hear one of these guys say they weren't interested in a women who was easy (easy was HOW they got to 50 or 100, they wanted easy). I have also, never personally, heard of a man turning down a relationship with a women because she has slept with too many people. I have certainly h…
/r/PurplePillDebate17/04/24 03:11 PM

I think this is a causation versus correlation discussion... I don't think either men or women want partners that have slept their way through a city, but people that are able to do that have that capability because they are desired. I think this causes the premise of the question to be a fallacy. None of the women I have been involved in would have seen me as more valuable because of a high n, if anything I would have been seen as less valuable. I have had discussions with all the women I had L…

Using a mental health provider as the explainer for men's friendships isn't a great source, they are selling a service... they basically are saying "If men were women they would have friends". Great. I don't blame women for men not having friendships (on a GROUP level)... I blame men and in some cases society (which at some point was instituted because men allowed, approved of and or voted for). In a professional setting, a men's groups is sexist and not allowed. Churches do have men's, women's,…

Being well read is a choice, or at least a choice if you have the aptitude. I agree that CAN translate to a degree. More and more I have seen degreed people who are not well read, can’t think critically, and are boring. I have a degree. Great, bonus points for me. However the hands down most intellectual environment I have ever been in had nothing to do with college, education or a degree.

Well, my claim is that the performance of the surgery matters more than kegels. Circumcision may be similar, but due to it being external and more routine probably lower the range of outcomes. I’m unsure if this reply was to me, but I will assume it was. When a woman’s vagina (muscle) is surgically cut to allow childbirth, it may not be as tight as it was previously… no different than an ACL… I’m sure some of this has to do with the skill and care, and decisions made by the medical practitioner responsible. Isn't the whole basis of porn that larger penises & longer lasting lovers = good sex? My understanding is that men are the primary consumers of porn. I think the answer is sex is more nuanced and individualistic than people understand, and when there are two unique variables (or more I guess, but lets keep it simple) the results are also highly variable. Men's choice is to not have sex and get a woman pregnant OR accept some amount of risk that you will get a woman pregnant (this may be a goal, YMMV). Women can choose not to have sex, or take birth control, or use Plan B, or in 72% of states have a abortion between 3 and 9.5 months, or give a baby up for adoption, or choose to collect child support from the father for 18 years. This is the patriarchy.

I’m not sure that is going to be too much a driving factor… 37% of women have Female Sexual Dysfunction (FSD)but only 17% of men have ED… Here’s a peer reviewed study done in Iran, but a Taiwanese study is similar. https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/articles/PMC8351832/ The apparently is some interdependence, I.e. the woman has FSD, and the man then gets ED, OR the man has ED and the woman gets FSD… Now, in these studies ED is defined as not being able to get an erection sufficient…

So just because some men are bad (sex with farm animals), doesn’t mean all men are bad. I don’t know if women as a group are changing or not at the moment. There are good and bad relationships and always have been and always will be. The difference now is that the hookup culture allows skipping the relationship, and serially abusing people in different (usually sexual) ways. That is new. Most of the people I know are married, and have been for many years. Some financially struggle, some are weal…

In reality “the wall” would better be termed “the decline that people face until (the wall of) death”. I get that part of the red pill argument about the wall is that women decline as they age, but their standards don’t and therefore they hit “the wall”… but even if you put those two concepts together, the don’t “hit the wall”, they “build the wall”.

So I watched this and looked into the references... "The vegans had 7% higher total T (P = 0.250), 23% higher SHBG (P = 0.001), 3% lower free T (P = 0.580)" Lower free T means lower... erections. The actual "experiment" hasn't been able to be replicated. If I was to guess the reason why, my guess would be that the men had sexual activity (whether sex or masturbation or whatever) in the 24 hours prior to the start of the study and that's why they did the meat portion on day 1 and the vegan portio…

Well that's not literally what he said... not only did he not literally say "immigrants are dirty rapists", he didn't even say it figuratively. I don't assume women are idiots at all. I actually think far more men are blithering idiots than women, but that is a completely different topic. But there are tons of "I'm hotter at 50 than a 25 year old" women around here, they are just as numerous as the "I'm not a Chad" men... If this is a straw man I didn't create it. Oh man... This is a difficult answer that could be a post in a of itself. So on the high level, I think when dating finding someone who you are physically, spiritually, and intellectually attracted to is extremely important. I can't speak for women, but I think some men discount the later two. Back in the dark ages (the time was the 00s...) when I dated people, this meant having a lot of conversations during the dating process that didn't all have the end goal of sex. They weren't old. Both were about 30. They certainly weren’t poor, not only did they make good money but they never spent it. Well because men father children at stupid old ages, see cult leaders with 16 year old “wives”… Don’t you think that women, as a whole, want children more than men, as a whole? In my 20s most men that I knew did not want children at the time, quite a few ever, and the ones that became fathers were accidental. Okay. Well fertility declines rapidly in a woman’s 30s. If a woman wants kids she should probably make up her mind in that time period as it goes from easy to difficult to impossible depending on the person by about 45. If a woman doesn’t want kids, that super easy.

Sure. But the testosterone ramp for men is slower than it is for woman. And mens bodies aren’t trying to balance testosterone and estrogen… I’m not sure what you’re trying to prove, men get old? Yes.

My understanding of the biological clock is that it’s shorthand for fertility. The older you are, the lower the chance of conception and carrying to term, that has nothing to do with social constructs anymore than breathing being necessary is a social construct.

So… he inherited either capital or part of a company? Because at 23 with base assets it’s even harder to have enough capital to generate north of $130k. When one of my companies was at its peak assets it was $2.5M and generating about $200 in profits… most of the profits went back into investments (repairs, additional purchases, partner buyouts)… I mean congrats, but that is not typical. I can but before I did that I would want to read the study to see how the bias was controlled for health… vegans tend to be more interested in their health and that would need to be controlled. That has a much higher correlation to obesity than to eating meat… sugar and carbs replacing regular food correlated with the massive spike in obesity… trans fats are the other big issue and that comes from processed food… even fatty meat, while not ideal is way better as it increases motility/regularity. A) Menopause hits women in their 40s, it is usually done in their 50s but can start in the late 30s. B) age is harder on women because of A). C) yes, like age 45. Observationally, it seems that woman have a harder time than men by their 40s, which I know isn’t the red pill narrative… part of the reason is men are much more likely to day younger women… younger men don’t seem to interested in older women (or maybe the other way around IDK). But income base child support doesn’t do that… a child’s expenses don’t go up when someone gets a raise…that theory would make more sense if it was a fixed cost. The issue isn’t the idea of cost sharing, the issue is the unequal economic burden particularly when coupled with increasing salaries of one party, and the false incentive this creates for gaining custody. For example if you had two kids by two different fathers you get nearly double the money in child support… this doesn’t seem like so…

ahh... yes that number seems more accurate... I no longer live in a major city so in theory its cheaper where I am, but I thought I remember friends telling me $25k+ for two kids... $400/month would be wildly different. I suppose to do a more fair comparison I would need to do city income V support... but I am tired... let it be said daycare is expensive, particularly for infants. Who you choose to marry is the most consequential decision most people will make (or choosing not to marry). Although, this may be inconvenient, it hasn't changed too much over the years. The only thing that has changed is the severity of the consequences of poor choices. Men and women should be highly selective, even if they are selective for different reasons. Men complain about all the crap above. Women complain about all the crappy men using them for sex, bad sex, cheating, or being layabout…

That daycare cost is cheap, in cities its usually much higher. Full child support in my state is 17% of income for the first child per year, assuming average salary ($50k) for both parents that would result in $718/month, with 2 children that would rise to $1,056. This would come to $12k per year plus taxes, or about $15k (with no dependent deduction, mom gets it tax free and the dependent and EIC ect...). This reduces the guys salary to $35k and raises moms to $65k plus some tax benefits. A gre…

I am not saying everything was better back in the days, specifically when you go back more than a few generations nearly everything was worse. Relationships and bodies are not static. Out of court agreements are better for everyone. But that doesn’t change that the court scales are not balanced. I think there are more outcomes than that… it seems like some people use RP knowledge and figure out the game, some people take that knowledge to abuse the game, some people take that knowledge a declare the game lost… I’m sure there are other outcomes. And what would we expect when some truths without a structure is tossed out there, when the old structures are being destroyed, and the ruins seeded with obvious lies… It all reminds me of Siddhartha, but if the story ended halfway through…

You seem to equate morality with evolution. My question is if morality is simply relative to expressed genetics, why is… say rape wrong if it’s how I evolved? You are not under any obligation to answer. I was wondering what you think. (For the record I don’t believe rape is moral or acceptable)

Part of the reason a bunch of people are discussing this though, is that since it’s not a ideology per say, that dudes that start to wrap their heads around it process themselves into the WORST possible results… I.e. I’m not 6 feet, I don’t make 100k, I’m fat, therefore I’m doomed to die a virgin… If RP was an ideology, these guys would be shuffled into a program to fix themselves (or grift them to the max)… there would also be some form of institutional, like Red Pill Studies majors

I don't think I disagree with what you said, however I would like to add one element. A significant segment of modern men are super passive (be sensitive, let her come to you)... women tend to either not be interested in men who don't have the balls to ask them out on a date (for which I think there are good reasons), OR they misread the signals of passivity and don't realize the dude is interested... That may be hard to do... having super super close friendships would tend to lead toward a dating type relationship... The sexual satisfaction results only had a (small) negative correlation when corrected for marital happiness… without that they had a small positive correlation. The “short term” partners only counted as a partner if it was literally a one night stand (sex…

I’m sure it affects women too, observationally I would agree “It’s just affecting women less”, but haven’t done any real study on it… Observationally, my male friend group seemed smaller but tighter knit than female friend groups, I still have extremely close friends from HS, college, ect. that have “reunions” (since we are scattered). I talk to 25 year old men and they have… Xbox friends… people they have never actually met, not people they know and play games with now because of life changes… …

Huh? I don’t have to be okay with anyone’s non criminal behavior… I don’t walk through life think men are worthless and disgusting… People satisfied with their sex life cheat MORE? That seems odd. Why would I base anything in my personal life on statistics instead of the people I deal with? It seems like my comment was an unintended Rorschach test.

Your fact sheet references fact sheets. I will reiterate, more rapes take place in (male) prisons by rate than anywhere else in the United States. Your 1 in 5 statistic is based on surveys that do not ask about rape, not criminally reported rape. Counties cannot restrict travel it would never be upheld by state court much less federal. States cannot restrict interstate travel. Show me prosecutions. IVF was just codified in a (red) state in response to a court ruling… which is the right way rathe…

Men are far more likely to be raped than women. The highest rates of rape occur in prison, not a college campus. The idea that pregnant women can’t travel is bizarre… if you believe that you’re living in your own dystopian fantasy. Rape is frequently prosecuted, outside of men in prison nobody cares about them. What bills have been passed limiting birth control? Griswold is the current president, and there are no cases on the horizon to challenge it. You are pretending to live in the Handmaidens…

Although slightly off topic, there is a completely separate issue among men that has to do with dwindling social circles (non-dating/sexual)... and this is where I am guilty as charged, but it used to be that dudes did stuff together... even simple crap like watching a football game... for me personally, kids took up a bunch of time when they were little, and a few other issues had me give up some hobbies that tended to be social... but it seems like the clubs and social situations that men freq…

It’s been 20 years since I used a dating site (back in the stone ages before apps)… back then I used to meet someone about once every week or two… screened a lot of people out (and I sure a lot of people screened me out)… at the time the site had more women than men, and it cost less for men to use for women (although it screened people and rejected a higher % of me upfront). Some meeting were coffee for 30 minutes, some were dinner dates, some were a couple drinks, whatever… there was never thi…

Umm… yes in the dress sense, no in the drugging women and raping them sense… There was this whole era in the 90s/00s where men were encouraged to be more sensitive and caring and blah blah blah… bland sweaters peaked during this time (as opposed to the ugly sweater 80s). This is a known historical fact.

Sure… but that kind of stuff has so much interaction it’s great for everyone… if I was socially awkward learning to say “nice catch Sharp_Engineering” would be a heck of a lot better for personal than swiping on some app… I think one of the huge issues is that people, mainly men, think that they can just skip all that development with some kind of gamification.

Yeah the end of the Sweater Man era was detrimental… nearly everything I learned about women, sex and relationships in the 90s was wrong and damaging…

This… boys, who should be men, are shifting between video games and porn hub instead of engaging in the world…. And I’m not saying you join a golf league to meet women, join it because you want to golf… but the more you engage with the world the more opportunities present themselves… hell you might find a golfing buddy with a single sister (and after a few rounds of chat get a setup)… or maybe you just join a foursome with a cute gal and play a round with decent conversation… better than sitting…

Willingness to have casual sex with a high number of partners is a “character thing”. Whether that’s a character trait that you admire or not is up to you.

What do you mean by “men are the default gender”? Women are and have always been the sexual gatekeepers.

Are you a figure skating judge or something? What in the hell is a situationship… this sounds like a cross of a NBC Olympic broadcast and a Babysitters Club book. Statistical analysis and assigning terms to concepts can be helpful in macro, but not when it’s your life and real people… “A 6/10 woman complains”… huh, if you’re interested in a woman date her… if your not don’t date her (you can probably accomplish this by telling her she’s a 6/10, that should end her interest pretty quick). If your…

By and large though, the young boys shooting up schools narrative is a bit of a stretch... the vast majority of multiple victim shootings are related to gang violence.
