you're describing the conclusion to a civil court case. supreme court cases usually involve federal laws and policies, and setting precedents for the lower courts to follow. In the US, it would involve interpretation of the constitution. This does not set a pretty precedent for men at all, as it directs legal responsibility to the man in cases where both parties are inebriated.
