Divorce is “catching”…You pretty much nailed it on the head! As a once divorced man of 16 years with kids, it was tough initially because of not always having my sons. I love and cherish them, the idea of remarrying will never happen though. I enjoy my freedom peace of mind and knowing I can have a say now in my life. Everybody views happiness through their own lense and what their life experiences are. You are right though people are influenced a lot by their circle of friends and family. Have a great day thanks for… | /r/Divorce_Men | 05/04/25 02:07 PM
Want to divorce but will cost me too much...Absolutely 💯 and used me as a financial tool my whole marriage trust me 16 years of it! I did get three wonderful blessings from it though and would do it all over again for my sons! They were worth it! | /r/Divorce_Men | 11/03/25 06:42 PM
Want to divorce but will cost me too much...This is exactly why we don’t remarry, fool me once shame on you, fool me twice shame on me! | /r/Divorce_Men | 11/03/25 02:15 PM
Want to divorce but will cost me too much...I argued that point exactly that she wouldn’t work yet had two college degrees. Alimony was removed off of the table because she had the ability to work and chose not to. I argued vehemently that her degrees could earn her big money and she finished her second degree and divorced me within a month later so no excuses. Thankfully it worked out in my favor. | /r/Divorce_Men | 11/03/25 02:13 PM
Financially ruined after divorceIt will get better, time heals all wounds. I paid 3k a month for child support for six years 216k when it was done. My freedom from walking on egg shells priceless. My kids I always put them first. It’s not how much time you have, but what you do with the time you have them. I have great relationships with all three of my adult sons. I will never remarry either brother due to the fact that I will never be taken to the cleaners again or feel like a financial tool. That’s how I felt. You will get … | /r/Divorce_Men | 08/03/25 12:37 PM
What is your view on the reasons for modern divorce?Trust me I did everything gave everything she controlled the finances so it wasn’t control on my end until I started pushing back for 50 dollars a month I kid you not. I made six figures. She knew I was starting to have a voice and stand up for myself and then divorced me. I hate to say it but a lot of it with me and my friends it had to do with I get half of the assets. No grass greener. Look it up number one reason for divorce finances ie money money money! | /r/Divorce_Men | 07/03/25 11:11 PM
I am getting worse, not betterThat is the best piece of advice you could give to anybody who’s gone through this because I had to go through this too and now I have a sense of purpose and I have peace, joy and happiness. Life is what you make of it after what you went through so why not try to make the most of it and keep your head positive as much as you can. You will get through this you can do this and you are a valuable person to yourself to your kids and to others don’t ever think otherwise and get the negativity out of… | /r/Divorce_Men | 04/03/25 09:31 PM
Help: transfersThe other words of wisdom I was given. It’s not how much time you have with them, but what you do with them with the time you have! I made every moment memorable, not by spoiling them but by listening and having long conversations with them and doing things with them, that they enjoyed. It brought me so much joy peace and happiness! | /r/Divorce_Men | 04/03/25 12:37 AM
Help: transfersYou just do it because your kids mean the world to you! Don’t give power to your ex by getting frustrated by the games. They are your number one priority. After years and years of driving 250 miles round trip to go and get my kids for six years I never regretted one bit. My kids now adult men after driving to see me realize the sacrifices I made to make them my priority even though their mother didn’t abide by the divorce decree. I never battled in court, I didn’t demonize her to my kids. In the… | /r/Divorce_Men | 04/03/25 12:33 AM

It never endsI’ve been divorced eight years. I’ve been with a different woman since divorce for probably 6 1/2 years. my ex still can’t let me go. She doesn’t directly text me because I don’t put up with it, but she indirectly sticks her nose into my adult kids. She used to text me through my kids phones since they’re on her phone plan and berade me. I had to put and end to it and tell her to act like an adult and text me directly, but I told her if it’s not about the kids and something important I’m not goi… | /r/Divorce_Men | 17/09/24 05:20 PM

No love for Divorced MenNo worries 😉 the longer you’re away from the divorce the easier it gets and the more you realize things. | /r/Divorce_Men | 16/09/24 03:37 PM
No love for Divorced MenYou’re going to find out that because you’re the divorced man you’re always in the wrong. The gossip and the rumors are crazy and what you have to do is just separate yourself and say who cares what other people think, people who truly know me and love me know who I am, everybody else is irrelevant. I was at my son’s graduation from college and I could tell just by all the female responses that my ex wife had influenced with how bad a person I was I could sense it, but I made the best of the day… | /r/Divorce_Men | 15/09/24 05:58 PM
After mediation in WA (no-fault state): 56% and $3,700 per month to herI paid 3k a month for 6 years 216k in total. I totally understand and she waited until higher income as well. I will never remarry because my income is double of what I was earning then lol. My financial freedom is so worth it. She spent everything like a princess I worked she didn’t had 42k credit card debt hidden from me. 50/50 nonsense lol. Not a chance again. Peace of mind is priceless. Time heals all wounds just don’t chase marriage again. A long term partner absolutely 💯 stay away from com… | /r/Divorce_Men | 11/09/24 05:10 PM
Did anyone end up being Happy their Wife Divorced them?Absolutely 💯 it was the best thing that happened to me! Freedom | /r/Divorce_Men | 11/09/24 03:37 PM
I wasn't good enoughNone of us were! It’s funny though after the fact one has a hard time accepting it, her and I moved on and very happy 8 years later. Trust me it’s time and seeing your value through your own perspective. No one is perfect but when you do everything you can and it still doesn’t matter it’s really not you! | /r/Divorce_Men | 10/09/24 04:18 PM
My ex loves telling me about her sex life.Take the high road who cares she wasn’t interested in you! In the end she can blame you and everything but it’s amazing how a future person perceives your love life compared to your ex. Remember it’s just a low blow below the belt. Nothing more. Keep your head up keep calm for your kids sake and don’t get into a tit for tat game as the kids as adults will eventually see who you are as a dad, that’s the most important thing. She is a petty bitter woman! | /r/Divorce_Men | 05/09/24 12:40 PM
Lack of affection in marriage leads to health issues and life change. That’s awesome 👏👍 | /r/Divorce_Men | 21/08/24 01:07 PM
Lack of affection in marriage leads to health issues and life change.I was in your shoes as well! My wife never cared about my physical needs either outside of the bedroom. I busted my butt for her financially she never had to work did more than half of the chores easily and always had kid time with my three sons when I wasn’t working. It affected my health as well and I realized she just didn’t care. Moved on 8 years ago couldn’t be happier. Found someone who appreciates me and what I do for her. It’s a matter of you only live once. If you aren’t appreciated as … | /r/Divorce_Men | 20/08/24 12:43 PM
