u/Eastuss made this interesting comment: Women have no idea what it takes to acquire muscle mass and most of the impression of "muscular" to them comes from a strong skeleton. Most of physical attraction is actually skeleton... ;) Now, one thing is true, is that when you've had high T all your life, your skeleton and muscle mass will be right more easily.

That's interesting. I wonder how u/Atlas_B_Shruggin and u/Eastuss would respond.

My understanding is that genetics and hormones (in utero, during childhood, and especially during puberty) determine shoulder-broadness. Why were these genetic/hormonal factors different in farm-boys in the past, as opposed to the non-farming population? Is there any evidence about this? And why did these factors change? How men look now isn't"natural" What does this even mean?

It's definitely a guy thing. The question posed in the OP is whether it's also a girl thing in the respects that u/Eastuss mentioned.

You should write a book. I would actually pay for it for real.

What is your parenting advice so that I can be an "Atlas" parent for my children?

Did you violate laws? Why do hate Toms River; simply because this incident left a bad taste in your mouth? What about Matawan? What about Rutgers?

Do you ever go to Asbury Park? Or this other place where there is a very famous "swim-up" bar?

Ooooo interesting. How come? She lives in Matawan right now; short commute to New Brunswick (where Rutgers is).

What exists outside the universe? What is the universe? How was it created? How is it that an object can act upon another object through void space (the phenomenon known as "gravity")? How does the human brain work? How do the remarkable navigational capacities of insect-brains even work? How can quantum mechanics be unified with general relativity? What happens to the brain during a manic state? I had a manic state once. My mood is fine now, but Mr. Smoogs, I have to tell you that my manic stat…

I see you as an amazing person, and I have a crush on you, but ever since someone planted the seed of doubt in my mind that you might be secretly be a man, it's conjured strange emotions in me. :(

Can you flesh out how exactly the article contradicts itself? It says that women will occasionally resort to overt communication ("Get away from me you creep!!"), and it says that women overwhelmingly communicate covertly.

It's a great song, but what is its relevance? Is it supposed to evoke a "winner" mentality of positive thinking?

I like you and u/GinSmokeLies and u/Mr_Smoogs! :) <3 I believe that all of you will discipline yourselves, focus yourselves, work hard, and achieve your respective goals in life. I believe that you will have mind-blowing sexual intercourse and emotional fulfillment that will take you to heights previously undreamt of. I believe you guys will sculpt your (1) bodies and (2) minds so as to THRILL the attractive people to whom you are attracted. :) :) :) Edit: I feel great hope for our species and f…

Got pictures? How do you even know from pictures whether a man is naturally ripped? Also, isn't it a huge conundrum that the men who are like 6'4" are almost always ectomorphs? I mean, women apparently want mesomorphs, but what % of mesomorphs are like 6'4"?

And you think women's SMV is way more looks-based? How much more looks-based? Once you reach a certain looks-threashold, doesn't personality take over as a major factor, and don't you know this from your own experience with relationships?

If the man gambles and fails, will the women be free from consequences? E.g., if she's bearing his child? He can't take risks without endangering her interests as well...

More Qs. 1: What do you make of the hot/smooth/"natural" jocks who had a great high-school but then became losers later on? 2: High-T is not the end-all-and-be-all aesthetically or neurologically, is it? 3: Not many guys have broad shoulders like that dude you linked, right? 4: How many dudes have the shoulders and the height (we don't know how tall that dude is)? 5: And the face? 6: And the neurology? (I've known hot dudes who weren't smooth.)

Thanks for the excellent response. Lots to respond to here. A couple things. So T-levels during puberty are a big deal in a man's life? What's the evo-psych behind why women care so much about that? Will science ever find a way to optimize T-levels during all men's puberties? I've been ostracised between 12 and 16 years old What happened? :( Women find it disgusting, partly because it shows you're not a natural, partly because all this is not in women's best interests, but they expect men to unc…

Doesn't the above message contradicts your interpretation below? Well, it's not really an "interpretation," AFAIK, but rather a summary of one of the article's points. Just read this part: The difference is that our confusion and frustration is put to their ultimate use. So long as women remain unknowable, random, irrational creatures that men can’t hope to understand (but can always excuse), they can operate unhindered towards their goals. “Silly boy, you’ll never understand women, just give up…

Just like most men like youth+beauty. what about experience/mature good looks? For example a 40-something dating a 20-something would be vastly more experienced/knowledgeable than said 20-something. How are they supposed to have a somewhat egalitarian power dynamic??

Uh huh. So you think that people (WOMEN) start going for people they are less attracted to as they age? Maybe even people they are un-attracted to because they cant snag they dude they really want? Why would anyone have sex with/ crave romantic companionship from anyone they are not attracted to.... that sounds torturous?? So if its not just looks, maybe someone's overall preference/ attraction to certain traits could likely change?

Literally anyone who is going for someone in their age range will experience a decline in the physical department as time goes on...in terms of the attractiveness of their potential dates/mates AND themselves. I would posit that mature adults dating other mature adults within the same approximate age-range don't go around "age shaming" each other or trying to figure out whose wrinkles are less wrinkly.

Errr, no. I was not claiming that choice is the only factor in attraction, nor that people can choose who they are initially (instinctively?) attracted to... What I was saying (along the lines of "gathering info") is that people can often choose to look for information that would decrease/ increase their attraction to someone for a variety of reasons. Eg. potentially "look past" something that would be a /dealbreaker or /not go for that smokin' hot 19 yr old because one is happily married alread…

Life isn't a Harlequin romance. Women don't just flock around "high value" (ugh ugh vague ugh) men like a cauldron of hawks waiting for hawk-chad to make his selection from the immediate vicinity. Anywho, Hmmmmm, so does the potential of the dude I want to get with, having other chicks who want to get with him-- make me more attracted to him? I think if he did not have ANY friends I would be concerned, but if I'm at a party and theres hawk-chad with a bunch of people around him and another dude …

these are men in Engineering/CS. Many of these men are virgins throughout college. I have definitely come into contact with a few too many engineering students who would downright laugh at this statement to actually find it applicable to where I go to school-age. If they want a family/kids in particular (or even just long-term companionship) of course they are going to lower their bar as time goes on. Their bar looks-wise I could potentially see. But most people tend to get more wrinkly and gene…
