People of both genders prefer to be liked for who they are, rather than being liked for successfully performing gender role expectations. Some of the traits associated with gender roles are universally positive, but there are also those that some people genuinely hate performing. Being liked for your job, or worse, income, is also not particularly flattering, unless your job is a huge part of your identity, which is relatively rare now.

What's the difference between between being "appreciated" and being "rejected" by society? As someone who is supposed to be "rejected" by your criteria, how is this supposed to affect me?

It has nothing to do with male fertility. Birth rates decline because technology turned children from assets into liabilities. In agrarian societies, children start contributing to their households at something like four years old and generally for the rest of their lives. In modern societies, children are completely incapable of producing value until they go through 12-20 years of education, with parents having to pay for their living costs the entire time, and after they are done with that, th…

Absolutely nothing. Just like no amount of science will make me want to marry or have children as a man. I can't imagine any sane person changing their whole life goals for a few years of life expectancy.

The problem with MGTOW is that the label itself is doomed to be attached to people no one likes. Men who are actually going their own way are going to be busy doing whatever it is they are doing and not going to waste time watching youtubers who bitch about women or post on internet forums dedicated to the same. The only men who are going to stay in MGTOW-related spaces are divorced losers and blackpilled teenagers. A place like r/financialindependence, despite having most of its user base marri…

I think my last name is kinda mid and I wouldn't want to subject another person to having it. Aside from that, I can't imagine caring about something I didn't choose in the first place.
/r/PurplePillDebate21/01/26 04:43 PM

If it wasn't, everyone would be a Casanova. It's not (just) muscles and money. Figuring it out is easy, performing it isn't. There's where we disagree. That particular effort/reward calculation is always up to the individual.
/r/PurplePillDebate31/12/25 11:53 AM

It's not about making sense of it. It's not that hard to figure out what women find attractive in men. I'm just not willing to be a monkey in that particular circus, the juice is not worth the squeeze.

32M, never been in a relationship. I'm actively against RP. Misogyny aside, I wouldn't want to be anywhere near those people, the vibes are way off in general.

As a 32M virgin, I have never experienced it. Regardless of how much dating as a virgin sucks, outside of that context literally no one cares how much sex anyone is having.

I'm a non-western man. My main problem with passport bros is mostly that they are delusional. They think that western women are extremely materialistic and corrupted by feminism or whatever, and that by dating in other countries they get access to uncorrupted virtuous women. The reality is that women almost everywhere have been completely westernized decades ago, and what they are getting aren't better women, but women that treat them better because they perceive passport bros to be higher statu…

The difference between the two is just a matter of degree of introversion. The closer to the tail end of the normal distribution you get, the higher the energy cost of social interaction, and the less enjoyment you get onto it. At some point leaving the house completely stops being worth it.
/r/PurplePillDebate15/08/25 11:46 PM

<image> Not masculine, not feminine, just straight up no personality lol.
/r/PurplePillDebate25/07/25 09:59 PM

No. I agree about women gatekeeping sex part (mostly because men want sex more than women), but women largely gatekeep relationships too.
/r/PurplePillDebate25/07/25 09:53 PM

Since I work from home, I can use anything I want as long as I can maintain a reasonable appearance of productivity. Which is not particularly hard in my specific position.

I don't care either, but I'm still allowed to consider certain behaviors cringe because it's usually done by the kinds of people I don't generally like. They are allowed to live their life however they want, and I'm allowed to silently judge them for it.
/r/PurplePillDebate23/07/25 06:31 AM

Your cousin is based. Like, I personally think that older men who exclusively go for women in early 20s are extremely cringe (and so do most women those guys hit on). But like your brother said, when everyone involved is an adult, they can date whoever they want.
/r/PurplePillDebate22/07/25 06:09 AM

Extraversion exists on a standard distribution. Most people are pretty similar whether they fall to the left or the right of an arbitrary line that sorts them into introverts or extroverts. But you have to remember that people at the tail ends of the distribution exist too. If you are somewhere in the bottom 5%, then then forcing yourself to socialize with strangers is a massive pain in the ass even if you don't have any kind of social anxiety.

Or maybe fragile egos are common in attractive men that date a lot of women. A minority of men can create a large fraction of recurring experiences.
/r/PurplePillDebate13/07/25 03:14 PM

If men you date consistently have fragile egos, to me that just sounds like you tend to select for men with fragile egos because they tend to have other qualities you find attractive.

No, I don't believe that an average man will get cold approached by an attractive woman and regularly get tinder matches.
/r/PurplePillDebate10/07/25 09:22 PM

No woman has expressed any interest in me in my entire life. I never put any active effort into dating it, seems like way too much of a pain in the ass and I'm fine being single. However, my point is that if you are actually average as a man, nothing woman-related will ever happen to you unless you actively look for it.

Among other things. I don't like socializing with strangers. I don't like most activities people do on dates. I would hate to spend time and energy on my appearance, like maintaining a hairstyle that isn't a buzz cut, shaving regularly, or getting into male fashion. I would hate going to a gym (I'm not fat but there's zero muscle on me).

I would consider her batshit insane for trying to have a biological kid at 47. If she succeeds, that kid will be playing a defect roulette with unfavorable odds. She should adopt. I don't understand why she'd want to subject herself to being a single mother on purpose, let alone her kid to fatherlessness. It will also mean she'll be nearly 70 when the kid reaches adulthood. So also relatively insane to me. The age gap is weird, but they are both adults so whatever.
/r/PurplePillDebate27/05/25 01:02 PM

Even in countries with by far the highest child benefits, those benefits aren't anywhere near covering the costs of having children. They exist mainly to prevent poor people from being unable to afford basics like groceries. If anyone is having children for the sake of benefits, it's because they are bad at math, which is, to be fair, not uncommon among the demographic that gets them.

I didn't mean anything being given away for free. The main causes of housing shortage currently are artificial zoning restrictions, parking minimums, and NIMBYism. If it was legal to built apartment blocks where it's currently only legal to build single family homes, the problem would go away relatively quickly.

I even hashed this out with AI and it said, essentially, the same thing. LLM providers have an incentive to prompt them to behave in ways that maximizes user engagement, and that generally involves glazing the user and agreeing with everything. Getting an LLM agree with you is not an indication of validity of anything.
/r/PurplePillDebate14/05/25 05:01 AM

Unlike with relationships, you don't need a building's consent to live in it. Housing shortage can be solved just by building more of it while fairly compensating everyone involved.

Just a few generations ago women didn't have equal access to education and jobs compared to men, and financial dependence on men was normal. Now that workplace equality is mostly achieved, the kind of men who used to be valuable because they were providers, now have nothing to offer because women can provide for themselves. This means that in the current year, a man needs to be attractive enough that his presence improves a woman's life compared to staying single, and a big chunk of men just don…

No, absolute level of attractiveness still matters because men now compete not just with other men, but also women's ability to stay single. All men being better would mean more women would be able to find a man worth dating.

Whenever I tell incels that “incel” now means a man who hates woman To be entirely fair, the worst "misogynist" already exists, and turning the word "incel" as an insult with the same meaning was entirely unproductive. Now we have a millions of non-misogynist involuntarily celibate men that can't reasonably be called incels, but we have no other word for them.

I don't agree that there's an abundance of good options, if a good option is someone who will improve a woman's life compared to staying single. Obviously there's a huge number of men who are faithful and not abusive, but if they aren't at all attractive, what's the point of dating them in the first place?

Besides being sexist bullshit that mirrors RP, down to the part where "it's not actually all men/women but you have like like they all are to protect yourself", it's also just wrong. Any individual is fully capable of rejecting the values of society they grow up in. You can be raised in a religious society and turn out an atheist, you can be raised in a nationalist society and turn out a cosmopolitan, and you can be raised in a sexist society and turn out an egalitarian. Once you stop treating p…
/r/PurplePillDebate19/04/25 10:36 AM

To be entirely fair, women do things a lot of things that have zero impact on how attractive they are to men, like inconveniencing themselves with long nails.
/r/PurplePillDebate18/04/25 12:14 PM

If I cared about attracting women, I would follow advice from the kind of women I would want to attract, but unsolicited advice from random women I don't care about wouldn't be welcome. If I had a partner, I would be willing to change my appearance to match her preferences as long as it's something I don't hate. But since I'm single and planning to stay single, everything I do to my body or wear is for my own comfort.

It's fairly simple for me. If I like someone enough to want a relationship with them, I like them enough to value my friendship with them and would prefer to continue to spend time with them. When you would rather be a stranger than a friend to someone you wanted to date, it simply reveals how little you valued that friendship, and it's completely reasonable for that person to be upset about it, without any entitlement involved.

Why is it fake just because you want to be closer? Because if it wasn't fake, they would have preferred to stay friends over cutting contact.

The OP was talking about "being shamed", which to me means the impact on your reputation in daily life. Getting rejected due to having no experience is obviously a thing but to me seems completely irrelevant to the topic.

No periods. Vasectomy is way less invasive than permanent birth control for women. It takes way less maintenance to be presentable as a man. Short hair takes way less time and effort to take care of. No makeup. No inconveniences like high heels or long nails.

Men aren't shamed for failing at sex, they are shamed for annoying behavior. You can be a virgin without ever being shamed for it if you just don't act like a weirdo, which is not particularly hard. Your N count doesn't exactly float above your head. And men certainly aren't shamed for succeeding at sex except by a few terminally online weirdos that you have to go out of your way to discover. In any case, it's a nothingburger issue, especially since women get shamed for both having sex and not h…

I don't deliberately avoid women, but I don't interact with women my age mostly because I don't interact with people in general. I work from home and don't go outside except for groceries. Arousal is the physiological part, sexual attraction is psychological. You can have the former without the latter. Like in that example of a 10/10 I know nothing about, may dick may get hard from looking at her, but that won't make want to have sex with her. I need to be familiar with a woman and like her personality before my brain can consider her a valid target for sexual attraction.

Maybe biology plays a part? I’m a heterosexual man that wants to give, whereas women receive, so they have to feel comfortable? Idk….I really can’t fathom that. People experience sexuality differently, and there's way more variation in that between individuals than most people think. In general, heterosexual men tend to conflate arousal and sexual attraction because most of them tend to experience both at the same time, but that isn't the case for everyone. For example, in my case arousal works …

Morally, I agree that a man shouldn't have to pay for a woman's choice to carry a pregnancy to term. Consent to sex isn't consent to parenthood. However, when you live under a legal system where you could be on the hook for 18 years of child support regardless of your consent, then wanting to rawdog it without getting a vasectomy is entirely a skill issue. I have zero sympathy for people this stupid.

I'd say that was true a few decades ago, but it has been getting increasingly more common with young people. To me it looks like dating now requires better social skills than before, while those skills are generally declining as increasingly more people are terminally online.

I wouldn't consider dating "basic human interaction" because you can have enough social skills to function perfectly fine in all other social contexts you need in your life and suck exclusively at dating.

It's not "women not putting up with shitty behavior", it's "women not putting up with mediocre men who don't have anything to offer". In the past, women were financially dependent on those mediocre men because they didn't have the same access to education and job opportunities. Now that's no longer the case, the problem of invisible men is that they are competing against women's option to stay single. And losing. Which is entirely a skill issue. To me "never approached a woman in person" sounds like it doesn't exclude finding women on dating apps or other online platforms. I don't think all of those 45% are virgins, but probably around half are.

Yes it's obviously fair to say that. It may be way easier for women to get casual sex compared to men, but it doesn't mean that it's easy for women to get into a relationship that's an upgrade from being single, considering that a bad relationship can easily make your life much worse. And some people also just aren't good at social skills needed for dating, especially when it comes to young people, many of whom don't get much real life social interaction at all.

There are certain styles of clothing and makeup that are instant boner killers for me. It's not just about how those things look but what the person tries to signal by wearing them. It's not. A potential partner's finances should be one of the most important things about them, regardless if you are a man or a woman, and whether you want children or not. Any man who marries a woman who has credit card debt is regarded, nothing such a woman can offer will be worth the financial situation she will spend you into. That being said, it's fine to call a woman shallow if she expects her man to make six figures while she herself has no chance of ever earning anywhere that much.
/r/PurplePillDebate11/02/25 06:49 AM

I think most people will have better mental health childfree than otherwise, considering the work and stress involved in raising children. I don't believe that there's any psychological need to have children built into humans, evolution simply doesn't work that way. Nature tricks animals into reproducing by rewarding sex, and it works on anything, ranging from things too dumb to reason about future to humans until we invented reliable birth control. There's no reason to think that childless wome…
/r/PurplePillDebate10/02/25 08:29 AM

Family and children, when stripped of the economic advantages they had per-industrialization, are greatly overrated. Not that many people enjoy family life so much that it's worth the time and money sacrifice it requires in a society where children are a 20-25 year commitment with zero return on investment. I expect even more people to stay unmarried and childless in the future as social inertia from earlier times fades. Women, besides taking a greater financial hit due to having to take time of…

The fall in fertility rates isn't caused by sexual liberation, both are caused by technological progress, and it's universal regardless of culture, religion and marriage traditions. No idea why you are bringing US into it when I was talking about the developed world in general. I live in Europe so I know the living costs. 1250 SEK per month probably doesn't even cover groceries for that child in Sweden. Googled Netherlands, their child benefit is pretty much the same, €280-400, depending on the age, per child per quarter. Child benefit in Sweden is 1250 SEK a month per child, which is like $110. Housing allowance also caps at around that much. Even if you have six children, you're look at like $1200 per month in total. Women don't have unrealistic standards. It's perfectly rational to prefer staying single over being in a relationship with a mediocre partner. Now that women aren't forced to do it to survive, they don't. A relationship doesn't automatically improve your life, even ignoring the possibility of abuse, it can just involve more work and inconvenience than what you get out of it. Fewer children being born due to a more just society is a win-win as far as I'm concerned. I'm an antinatalist. But also, I think that society would need to figure out a way to incentivize childbirth anyway. As a productive member of society, I work a normal job at a medium-sized company, so I work with both men and women all the time. I see male-dominated and female-dominated roles, but I don't see any difference in competence between men and women. Besides, most businesses aren't big enough to get infested by DEI/ESG/whatever, and they would just avoid hiring women if they were less productive. The proportion of jobs women hold due to merit vs DEI is like 99/1, and that 1% is in a few very desirable male dominated fields. I think it's primarily a consequence of better gender equality (mostly education and workplace), the dating market just took a few decades to fully catch up with all of the the consequences of it. With women not needing men to provide for them, men have to compete not just with other men, but also with the the advantages of staying single. And since women are less horny than men, more of them are satisfied staying single, and fewer men clear the bare minimum bar of being worth dating for women, …

Doesn't bother me. Obviously would be nice, but absence of it doesn't negatively impact my quality of life. And being a guy, if I'm not willing to put a massive amounts of effort into it, it's not going to happen, and the juice is not worth the squeeze.

Exactly the same thing happened to fertility rates in USSR which was not capitalist and where women gained equal access to education and employment significantly earlier.
/r/PurplePillDebate30/08/24 07:09 PM

I don't think it's a capitalism problem. Capitalism doesn't make children a financial burden, technological development did. Back when children quickly became net contributors to the household, people had a lot of them, and that behavior was just as mercenary as what modern people do. Now children are useless until they are mid 20s because it takes a lot of education to contribute something to society that can't be automated. The cost of getting them said education while also providing for their…

Talking to normies at best just drains my energy (and I don't have a lot of it) and at worst kills my faith in humanity. The most social I ever got was in college where most other students were also nerds. IQ is not just about learning things with less effort though. If you take someone with an IQ of 80 (as common as 120, around 10% of the population), that person will struggle with even with some of the simplest jobs available today, and no amount of effort would make a good accountant or a technician out of them. Similarly, you won't find a lot of 100 IQ engineers or scientists. IQ doesn't guarantee success, but it's necessary to have the ability to do some things at all.

Women currently outperform men in education because most teachers are women, so they run classrooms in a way more suitable to girls than boys. Female teachers are also biased towards girls, male students will often get lower grades for the same academic performance, or teachers will grade based on behavior. Girls are more likely to follow rules and obey authority figures, which is highly valued by teachers but isn't an indication of intellect. And the reason most teachers are women is that teach…

its one of the biggest refrains on this sub that men should be assholes to get women This sub is a small number of terminally online weirdos, and even the entire manosphere put together is in the grand scheme of things inconsequential. I personally think it's a bad idea to do this even if it works. just like men's preferences affect women To a lesser degree, since men are disposable as far as natural selection is concerned, and fewer of them reproduce.
/r/PurplePillDebate26/01/24 07:43 PM
7

In a lot of cases, this is willful blindness on women's part. Men like this are completely obvious to other men, the act isn't fooling anyone who's not attracted to them. And if men with their lower emotional intelligence can spot this, so can women. They just choose to ignore the red flags.
/r/PurplePillDebate26/01/24 06:22 PM
4

Vast majority of men don't act like assholes deliberately for the purpose of getting women. Redpillers and PUAs may but they are a tiny fraction of the population. Most assholes are the way they are naturally. Even if absolutely zero men acted like assholes on purpose to get women, women's preferences would still affect men as a whole. “Men are one long breeding experiment run by women”. They get to choose who gets to reproduce.

If women consistently choose men who exhibit toxic behavior over men who don't, they can't exactly be called wonderful, are they? I mean, they have free will, they could just choose to not reward bad behavior.
/r/PurplePillDebate26/01/24 05:40 PM
31

There's no confusion. Toxic excesses of attractive traits (like confidence and decisiveness turning into being a cocky asshole) are far less unattractive to women than any expression of lack of those traits. Erring on the side of expressing toxic masculinity gets men better results than what men themselves consider respectful behavior. Things would be very different if women treated cocky assholes the same way they treated boring shy guys.

And a tattoo is something that doesn't even affect other people directly, unlike being vaccinated.

You should be free to decide to vaccinate or not, but since it affects other people, other people should be able to know about your decision and act accordingly. Basically, I'm in favor of vaccine passports.

There's no biological want to have kids. It's would be completely unnecessary. No animals other than humans have the capacity to understand where children come from. They still manage to reproduce just fine because nature tricks animals into reproducing by rewarding sex. There's no reason to think that humans are an unique exception. Humans only figured out how to reliably circumvent the causal relationship between sex and children less than 100 years ago.

You really don't know anything when you're in your early 20s, and they are often not reversible. Having children is not reversible either. For some reason I hear this being said to people who want permanent birth control way more often than to people who want to have children. I personally decided that I never wanted children when I was around 10, and I'm still of the same opinion at 28. Ultimately, I think that people should be allowed to make decisions about their bodies no matter how likely t…

Neither gives anyone any unrealistic expectations. People watch anime because they like it more than real life and live action content. Being unrealistic is a desirable feature of anime that people deliberately and consciously seek out. Both genres portray ideal situations for their target audiences. Harems show multiple 10/10 girls fawning over a loser but getting along with each other, while reverse harems have multiple 10/10 guys chasing an average girl and fighting over her.

It's engrained into most people to desire children. It's not. The only thing engrained into people is the desire to have sex. Children are just a byproduct of that, at least have reliably been, until humans figured out birth control. No other animal is even capable of knowing where children come from, yet they all manage to reproduce just fine.

How do you know all animals feel pleasure out of reproduction though? They wouldn't do it otherwise. Wolves reproduce and protect their young. So do penguins. Some species have an instinct to protect their young, and some don't, depending on the reproduction strategy (quality vs quantity). Both strategies work for different kinds of animals, bigger animals take more time to mature and require more protection, so they tend to evolve parental instincts. This instinct is completely irrelevant to re…

There's no "biological programming" to reproduce. There's no need for it to exist. Nature tricks animals into reproducing by rewarding sex. It works despite the fact that every animal other than humans have no idea that sex leads to reproduction. The biggest problem with MGTOW communities is that they end up being a magnet for misogynists precisely because their members don't have anything in common other than having an axe to grind with women. You seem to define sex in a way that includes masturbation. I don't with your definition, and I don't think most people will either. This ignores a few important distinctions. The important part is that hormones don't care whether you jerk off to women, waifus, or sunsets, or actually have sex with a woman. Meanwhile, most men do tend to care whether they have sex with a woman or jerk off, to varying degrees. That's the psychological part.

There are good reasons to spend as little money as possible that have nothing to do with fear. For example, saving for early retirement so that you can actually live your life the way you want to instead of being a wageslave. Besides, past a certain point, spending money is pointless since it doesn't make you any happier. You enjoy whatever you bought for a short time and then your brain reverts to the baseline level of happiness, except you now have less money. It's better to be careful and del…

Extraversion is a scale. Most people, both introverts and extroverts are reasonably close to the middle of that scale. Someone on the low end of extraversion scale never goes out (at least to bars and parties) because they never want to, even if they are completely used to social interaction and have no disorders like social anxiety.

No. I'm neither traditionally masculine nor particularly feminine, so gender roles have no significant positive or negative impact on my life. Especially since I don't date. The culture I live in is also relatively egalitarian, so there are no significant downsides to being a man. If I was the opposite gender, I wouldn't be able to take advantage of female privileges, so being a woman wouldn't be worth the downsides, like monthly periods and having to do makeup.

It's fair that women get to decide what to do with their bodies. It's not fair that women get to make men pay for their choices. It's also not fair that women have all the power to decide what happens to the child after its born without father's input.

I'm saving for early retirement. I invest 2/3 of my net income. If things go according to the vague plan, I should be out of the rat race in around 10-15 years, though this is just a ballpark estimation. Short nails are perfectly fine. For me personally, excessively long or brightly painted nails are a turn-off. As long as hair is recently washed, everything else about it is irrelevant. FIRE (financial independence/retire early) - getting enough assets to produce passive income that can cover your expenses until you die. LeanFIRE is the frugal version of that, generally for people who want to retire as soon as possible. Usually means post-retirement expenses of $40k/year or less. There's also FatFIRE, which means retiring with high passive income, even if it takes longer on more risk to achieve.

The combination of thinking with their dick, lack of self-awareness, and having no idea which qualities women find attractive in men. The first two are understandable if you are a teenager. The last one is a problem with what parents, authority figures and media teach young men. The way parents and teachers want boys to behave is not conductive to any kind of success in the real world, be it academic, financial or social.

The fraction of successful marriages is fairly low. And by "successful" I mean it's a mariage doesn't end in divorce, and both partners are happy with it long-term. Plenty of marriages last until one partner dies, but a lot of those include marriages where both people don't like each other anymore, but neither can afford the divorce. "Trying" until you find the right person is not a good idea, considering that one bad marriage can ruin the rest of your life. Marriage is just a bad idea, period.

Then how is that not a double standard? It is, but forcing women to give birth against their will is a greater evil than that. The only reasonable solution is to allow both sexes to opt out of parenting, not allowing both to screw the other party.

but i mean like 20 hours of pain to bring a wanted person into this world should surely happen Childbirth is a process that significantly affects life of a woman for majority of the term, not just the birth itself. It also makes permanent changes to a woman's body. No one should go through this against their own will. Fetuses are cheap, doesn't take that much effort to make one. If a man wants a baby, he can go bang a woman that actually wants one.

if the female is not in danger and the male wants the baby HE SHOULD HAVE A CHOICE Forcing someone to give birth against their own will is 100% immoral, and I can't imagine why you can't see that.

I fall under the strictest definitions of MGTOW, but I don't see any reason to form communities over that. It would be like non-owners of cars discussing it how much it would suck to own a car. You can't really discuss absence of something. I think that most men who would be happier alone already made that choice, without the help of internet communities.

25M, single, no pill. 4/10. The only negative thing in my life is work. I have no problems with my life, I don't need much to be content and I have those things, the only thing that ruins everything is that I have to work. The only thing that keeps me going is the fact that if my current situation continues, I will be able to retire early off the money I save and finally not work anymore, at which point I expect my life to become around 8/10.

The right word for what you are describing is asocial. Antisocial describes behavior of people who are willing to harm others for their own benefit. I think you are ignoring the fact that video games, at any point on the spectrum of difficulty and competitiveness, can be insanely fun, while being available at home and being one of the cheapest pastimes in existence. I never understood this whole "who will look after them when they are old" meme. Nothing guarantees that your children will want to be anywhere near you when you are old. My first real friendship was in my teenage years, with a girl, and an attractive one. No. The way I would describe it, the process by which you dick gets hard and the process by which you get the desire to stick it in whatever made it hard are separate things. I'd say that traditional gender roles make negative consequences for women who lack confidence less severe compared to men. And I don't think socialization is the only issue here. To me it looks like being confident is extremely important for men to be attractive to women, while women can get away with not having confidence without major issues. Society also has different expectations for men and for women in that regard.

I'd personally prefer being aborted to being raised by that kind of mother. So she did at least something right. Though I don't envy the girl she will eventually get pregnant with.

The fact that you can't imagine how can one feel aroused without feeling sexual attraction just proves how different asexuality is from normal sexuality.
/r/MGTOW21/12/16 11:39 PM

Asexual does not mean you don't have ANY sexual desire. I don't have ANY desire to have sex with other people. I'm just not capable of experiencing that. I do experience arousal from same things that straight heterosexual men do, but I don't want to have sex in real life. And, well, the reason why it looks 'snowflaky' to you is that asexuality is mostly an umbrella term for a huge variety of conditions, which have one loosely defined thing in common. However, even if you take my experience as an…

Microaggression is basically anything that can cause a person to be uncomfortable, no matter how completely innocuous it is. They literally consider the question “Where are you from?” to be a microaggression.

As you can imagine, the kind of feminism that I see while not being a feminist is a vocal kind. I don't know how big part of feminism they represent, but I see what I see. Things that I don't like about what I see: A huge number of double standards in regards to what is acceptable for men/women to be done by them and to them. For a movement that should be about gender equality, they don't seem to care in any way about issues that only affect men, male side of issues that concern both genders. Ra…

I have never been a fan of the whole family thing in the first place. As soon as I started thinking about it, it was obvious to me that I wanted to be alone. Also, they way families were depicted in media never made any impact on me. Now that I live alone, I realize that back when I lived with parents, what caused discomfort was the constant invasion of my personal space. I absolutely don't want to tolerate other people telling me what to do and when to things when I'm at home, or indirectly inf…

It's not about lack of friendships itself, it's about lack of qualities (mostly confidence and self-respect) that cause friendlessness in the first place. Someone with those qualities, but without any friends (like, when they moved to another city/country) will have no issues developing new friendships. And since friendships are extremely important in nurturing those qualities, it can become somewhat of a catch-22. I've been there myself, though I lucked into a friendship that happened to fix th…

I don't see abortion as in any way a bad thing because I don't automatically assign positive value to new life. Especially when it comes to lives of potential children from parents that consider abortion. Abortions simply prevent suffering, both for people already alive and unborn ones. I can't see how they can be something to feel guilty about. If anything is regrettable, it's lack of proper usage of birth control.

Before you decided against it, did you feel a strong desire to have sex/romantic relationships with other people? I did have some desire, but not particularly strong, and I'm not sure whether it was because I wanted it, or because I thought I wanted it because it was normal to want it. I hope this doesn't come off as rude, but as the female incel poster was asked... What's wrong with you? No idea. Maybe I have some kind of personality disorder. Well, I'm 23 and I have never had anything related to romance in my life, and obviously a virgin. I completely stopped caring about those things by the time I was 19. Whether you'd call me asexual would depends on your definition of it. I do experience sex drive, but it's not aimed at any real people. Masturbation completely fulfills all of my needs in relation to sex. I also have no desire for emotional intimacy. That being said, I have never encountered anyone similar to myself in that regard,…

It really depends on an individual. Some don't care at all, for some it's certainly worse. I personally stopped caring about being a virgin when I was around 18, and no amount of shaming will ever bother me. Not that it would even happen, since nothing prevents me from just not announcing that I'm one. It's just a matter of being confident in yourself. A confident person will shrug off such bullshit, while ones that are not will start hating themselves more because of it, and it has little to do…

I don't see these kinds of generalizations to be useful at all. While you can probably conduct a study that would find that on average one sex needs another more by X%, it's not that you could do anything useful with this information. and men also need women because of their almost crippling sex drive (women like sex, but in my experience don't feel they "need" it as much). I don't like this generalization either, since I don't feel like I need sex at all, and I doubt that I'm alone in this.

People defending feminism too often try to hide behind the dictionary definition of it, forgetting that majority (or at least the vocal part) of modern feminists don't fit the dictionary definition. If real feminists have a problem with being associated with radicals, they should vocally condemn radicals instead of vocally condemning people who dislike the word "feminism" because they dislike people that call themselves that. If they don't do that, I imagine that all sane feminists will have to …

i think its very sad that RP can't imagine a legitimate reason to care about women's rights other than to get laid. Well, that depends on what brand of feminism we are talking about. Okay, so the initial part of it, which consists of insights into actual rape cases from someone who worked at a rape crisis center, is completely reasonable and provides a useful perspective. However, later the article slowly devolves into author's thoughts on sexuality in our society, and finally, into collection of feminist buzzwords and talking points (that being said, a more sane one that I have ever seen from that particular brand of feminism). Strawmanning of any disagreement with feminism…

The model of "strangers to friends to romance" is their way to approach, as this is how sexual attraction formed to them usually, and it can be reasoned with "if friendship doesn't work, then there would be no hope for the relationship to work either" It's that way for me. That being said, I don't expect this to ever work.

I think that malicious nice guys are extremely rare or non-existent. Amount of naivety required to be a nice guy doesn't mix well with bad intentions. However, entitled ones certainly do exist. I honestly really do think that they are wrong when they say that even if the rest of the red pill were moderate like them, they still wouldn't find more support. From what I've seen so far, I'd say that even of 100% of them were reasonable moderates, they'd still be called a misogynist hate group. You can't disagree with the doctrine of modern feminism on any point without being called sexist.
