Believe me, I don’t miss straight relationships.

I’ve had bisexual relationships but I’ve chosen only to pursue relationships with men now.

Is there gendered behaviour? Yes. Is it cultural and biological? Yes. Could aspects of these be positive and negative? Yes. Is an obsession of gender culture healthy for society? No. The idea of toxic femininity provides as little to society as toxic masculinity does. It’s a cover to vent personal frustrations with the opposite sex.

Counterpoint: The mountain of successful, long term queer open relationships. Hell, I even see quite a bit of polyamorous queer couples now. Why do they find success?

Ugh. I’m reprogramming so much of this garbage. My 20s have been about manning the fuck up and learning the value of hard work.

Unfortunately, if I were to bring up this kind of disparity between dating different sexes, I’d immediately be labeled as an incel. This sub latched on to the gay part. Like yeah, for people who only want straight relationships, you’ve got the one option. I’m a little different and I was just hoping to discuss that. For people with both attractions, you can forgo a straight relationship, and escape a lot of the toxicity found in traditional gender roles by dating a man. This is honestly the firs…

I’ve found that with men, I’m able to both seek fulfilling sexual encounters and casual sexual encounters without any judgement, expectation, or coercion. There’s literally apps to get laid for gay men. The straights could never. And yeah, hyper sexuality might have its consequences, but I find plenty of successful, sexually open, long term male couples. Those men are becoming my role models.

What a bizarre hill to die on. How can you deny there’s different kinds of attractions that add up to one big lump sum of love? That whole thread just seems to shit on the idea of emotional intelligence; being able to identify and separate different kinds of attractions. Like ffs. My business partner is ugly af but his brain is so hot it is attractive. It makes him hot. How is that complicated. Edit: I’m reading more about this, and now I get what you’re saying. People use shallow understandings…

Thanks for sharing man. It sucks you’re so young and you’ve experienced that. I’ve had a lot of unwanted female ‘attention’, where had a man acted like that he’d be in jail, but they get away with it for being women. Learning how to say no very firmly and putting on some muscle really helped me with that.

Lmao. Dunno why you’re getting mad at me for using the language scientists and cultural anthropologists use. My experience in this sub is polarized reactions from the words I use, not the content. I actually agree with a lot of what you’ve said. Not all of it. But your offence at the idea that attraction comes in many forms is just.... stupid. Sorry.

Man, we could really have a venting session that would be good for the both of us because I feel a lot of what you’ve said. Hyper sexuality kind of feels like the consequence of the freedom I’m talking about, and I’ve kind of just accepted it. I consider myself really fortunate when I sought monogamy with men, like, in terms of standards, but there are definitely aspects of a straight relationship that I miss, like self-care and emotional intelligence. But I don’t mind body hair so long as you’r…

Lmfao ‘big words bad’. Isn’t the whole point of this sub to discuss the standards of straight relationships? Do you... really just not like words with ‘Herero’ in it? To put it simply, yeah. I’m not attracted to the stereotypes men and women fall into when in relationships, like men being the provider, and women the caretaker, etc. These social patterns are really ingrained, and I’ve found a lot more of the freedom I’ve sought in relationships in my male partners. And Jesus Christ lmfao, that do…

You can kill a man, but you can't kill an idea.
