To hold them accountable would assume they know what they’re getting into in the first place. Assuming they don’t know - that’s giving little to know credit for an adult’s awareness of the world. Assuming they do - it’s because the risk/reward is a better proposition with said biker thug than the dweeb that plays with his model railroad all day. At least with the former there’s likely going to be some excitement, even if it’s at someone’s expense. As for holding them accountable for bad choices,…

You speak as if porn has just recently provided an extra-relationship outlet for people to get off. My argument is that the Avenue has always been there. Porn is just a new form of it.

Yeah, and before porn, weren’t they either ultra religious, had no time for sex, or flat out cheated?

Ok, yeah, RMV more likely. Though I could imagine a scenario where she’s in hookup mode. Comparing her man’s SMV to the SMV of her friends’ men. Would’ve been simpler had I just put value, but hey, buzzwords.

Whaaa! Height is only one of many things women gossip about. They also compare how much money you make, how you treat her, whether you’re funny or dull, and whatever else comes to mind. You still shouldn’t care though. If you’re a true match, she won’t leave you unless there’s reason to believe a better option available. She’s aware of where she falls in the SMP, and whatever her friends think won’t change that. As a match, your SMV is a reflection of her SMV. If shirt really gets lopsided withi…

All the expected tortures of a cat lady. Best friend getting married (2nd time), male interest from long ago, mother with unmet expectations. Script was pretty bland. Breaks the 4th wall often, which is awkward. To much schtick to be taken seriously. Then again, this character has been illuminated in serious dramas since the beginning of time. See: any hallmark movie

Oh, but women do want men to recognize emotional situations, know who or what the problem is, and overcome or avoid it. If that awareness was found to be missing, it then causes a panic. What does he really think? Can I count on him for consoling later? Is he a psycho killer? Analogous to buying a car, only to find the check engine light doesn’t work.

On one end of the spectrum are takers. Dngaf about anyone but themselves. Much to offer to close acquaintances that is actually produced by others. There is still guilt in taking said resources, but that weighs on morally sound people that aren’t takers themselves. At the other end are givers. Selfless, but hollow. Always resourceful to anyone, but at a cost that could otherwise go to their close acquaintances. There is pity and emptiness in receiving their resources, which are thin and not scar…

The prospect of marriage is vastly different as people age. You’re presumably getting married for life, and must have some idea of what to expect in the future. The older we get, the better the sample size is for predicting future status. I think this explains why women are more inclined to date older men a few laps ahead. Men that can’t demonstrate a good trajectory with their age match still have a few more chances as they get older. After a few laps, the track is depleted of interested women …

OLD is the woman friendly bar where they have their own personal bouncer. Men they wouldn’t be interested in for myriad parameters are eliminated. Let a few through, then instantly have them kicked out of the place if they get out of line. What killed OLD for me was the discovery of the email filter on Match. You know there are 5x more dudes than women online. Women can easily filter away the bottom 70% of men by height and still have plenty of options.

Genitals rotated 90 degrees. The vagina is now horizontal and the penis is now vertical. Daily life: Women sit with their labor between their thighs. Men can stand with an erection that points straight down their pant leg. In the bathroom: Women can now stand at urinals. Women can now wipe both front to back and back to front, since there’s now an in or two of separation. Men can still point towards the urinal, just up from resting instead of down. Sex: Men lay down at the edge of the bed, knees…

Just find one tall enough and build the rest yourself. As long as the face isn’t a train wreck, he’ll probably be passable in whatever social tier you ascent to. I say this as a dude, having witnessed it first hand. Grew up next to many UMC women through college and into adulthood. The dude will change for the better because he has to. He will not get shorter.

There’s a common denominator for women selecting men - they’re presently single. That is their social circle involves close relatives and their friends. Those people will be the group she must consider bringing another person into. What kind of men are her friends dating? Is the potential man going to make her look good or is he a target of ridicule and shame, rubbing off on the woman? Is he going to seem to fit with her parents and siblings, or would gathering be awkward because of stark differ…

Agreed. The tipping point for me in OLD was the discovery of the filters available for messages. All a woman has to do is set the height filter high enough to narrow down the flood of traffic. It doesn’t matter what you are past that, you won’t stand out unless you message a woman that few other men are messaging. Doesn’t take much imagination to guess what these women have to offer.

Tell that to the woman you’re out in a date with. She’ll be begging for an asteroid before the check comes. Again, this place isn’t for debating the existence of life. Focus your energy on the SMP while you’re young. If you flunk out, philosophy will be there in your later years to figure out what it all meant/means.

You’ve come to PPD, the framers of the sexual /relationship marketplace. Being valuable as I resourceful or personable is but one of dozen things people expect in an LTR. It’s unnecessary for a STR. I see you trying to move the goalposts, but this ain’t that sport. I can’t fault anyone for investing their focus, time, and energy into noble pursuits. But it’s pretty obvious this path is the only chance at greatness for some people. Compare that to someone attractive that also accomplishes the sam…

I didn’t say it was me being the decider. My argument is that a different last name offers a woman some privacy, even if it comes at the expense of accessibility. Want to keep connections through the name change? Call the people you know and make the announcement. Better yet ask the new husband to do so if you think he’s getting off easy.

It’s harder for someone to track her down, either online or by word of mouth. Case in point, how many women do you know that put their middle name as their last name in their Facebook profile? To me, it’s seems subversive, but I’m not challenging whatever motivation is behind it. As for second marriages, same thing applies. She can choose which of the social circle pre-breakup carries forward. As for dad’s last name, nobody picks that from the start either. Kind of a free will question. You eith…

My theory is that it’s just as much taking on a new identity as leaving the old one behind. Yeah, I get that it’s assuming the name of the man, which isn’t going to sit well with everybody. On the flip side, there’s a convenient and timely opportunity for a women to leave behind a sea of acquaintances picked up during her single years. She can choose which ones to keep in contact with, leaving the rest to assume that the former relationship (coworker, classmate, neighbor) has run its course. Jus…

Wrong on both counts. To your first point about natural selection, it ain’t just about surviving anymore. HV people know their options and don’t need to settle. Enough of the population will move up and those that don’t die out. On your second point about the loss of civilization, it’s just the bottom rungs of society that do the heavy lifting, no matter what they look like by standards of the day. When the shirt uggos die off, it will be today’s 5’10” 5s that take their place. Think it hasn’t a…

You’re too kind. What makes you believe that 100% of women are fit to reproduce? Your premise is only select men reproduce with the entirety of women. Conversion ratio of men 3:1. Conversion ratio of women 1:1. For a generation of 100 born, 25 are male that reproduce, 75 female, but all are successful. Prediction: Birth ratios won’t change at all. It’s just the overall ratio that people reproduce. For men, it’s pretty likely to remain unchanged at around 60%. For women, it’s likely to go down fr…

Thanks. I can relate to the filters. Yeah, swipe apps are essentially 2 seconds to stand out, but at least you get two seconds. The other dating sites that use larger profiles are probably worse. Even more criteria to filter on, and for specific thresholds. Don't want someone below a certain height or with black hair, set up your message filter. Any messages from someone conflicting with the filter get automatically sent to the trash. Basically what Gmail did for retail and Facebook spam.

Deal breakers for me: Fupa Facial hair (visible chin whiskers, fuzz on the cheeks, ridiculously thick eyebrows) Vocal fry Resting bitch/sad face Crooked or yellow teeth All of which are surmountable. I think any woman can find the right look for her frame. For most though, losing a significant amount of weight is the first step. Being fat limits her ability to do physical activity outside of sex. Just like short wirey men, fat women are presumed to be functionally limited.

On the topic of just world fallacy, it's only applicable for the population as a whole. For relationships, it's quite the opposite. People keep track of episodes where their partner gets the better of them or others, the same for the partner noticing when others get the best of them. Over time they have a predictor of whether or not this person is invested in their well being. If it's a deal breaker, on to the next one. Well, maybe nuanced, but only for half of the crowd. RPers care about getting laid and nothing else. Looks are the only thing that matter for selection among the herd. Other traits are just used to filter down the set of matches, when necessary. BPers are in it for themselves and their children. For them it's a complex equation, balancing out traits that serve themselves as well as the children, short term and long term.

Hi, welcome to the sub. Animals are best served selecting by looks and in some cases mate contests. There are also relatively few animal species where the male and female remain together after sex. If the only goal on life is to have sex to continue life, then only basic survival skills are needed. The mother is sufficient, and won't select based on anything non-visual that would otherwise predict better offspring. So long a birth happens, death soon after for the mother is irrelevant to continu…

Wierd you would suggest this for your children. Would you allow this by someone you are with yourself?

Do you understand persona non grata?

Yeah, cute is a thing for dudes. Above average, but not hot. Looks young for their age, mostly because of soft facial features. Can confirm, as this was me up until about 30. At 35 I still get carded for alcohol.

Could you clarify whether this survey was on physical attractiveness or general dateability?

Right, you're allowed to do whatever you want. Gathering advice beforehand is also allowed. Advice offered to the masses might seem pointless, but I like to think it has some value. I have nothing to gain or lose directly by her actions. I do have to confront a society with beliefs based on their interactions with others. With her case in general, it's a couple things. For women, it's anxiety of being enough physically to attract a partner. For men, it's the percentage of the population of women…

I honestly think that a diet and social exposure would help her more than surgery. I'm not trying to virtue signal here, but I can see the tone come through. Are we not allowed to give advice here? The circle of life doesn't have to be a centrifuge. What is wrong with my philosophy, or why is it so incompatible with your views?

It's not up to me whether or not she carries forward with it. But she has an alternative viewpoint to consider beforehand. Why is my direct advice any worse than the alternative? So I never said anything. Instead she makes a decision based on a hodgepodge of anectodes from the thread. The collective of posters has then given her implicit advice on what to do. Again, it's her call what to do with the information.

So you're in camp two. Great, you got rid of a negative focal point early in life. But is a bolt on rack or fake ass really the same? The difference being you probably noticed people's eyes directed at your nose during conversation. That's awkward and surely made you self conscious. But if if OP catches someone glaring at her chest during conversation, isn't that just rude to begin with, regardless of how big they are? I get it, the only advice worth a damn is objective. But this isn't another d…

In her case, context. Something felt off about the title of the post. Single sentence comparing two of many market factors. Sure enough, OP isn't concerned with SMP dynamics. Take a minute for yourself. There's more going on. Ofc an individual has the right to do whatever they want with their body. In this case it's obviously to attract more or better men. If that's the goal in the first place, isn't the ethical thing to encourage them to accomplish that in the safest, most efficient manner? IME…

OP, please do not get plastic surgery! Saw your post history, and it sounds like you're looking for justification to go under the knife. Maybe start with natural beauty boosts first. Getting in shape helps. Personality is another whole dimension. Plastic is surgery is a last resort for old people. As for men, making more money isn't really becoming a new person as much as it's just a step change along their career path. Women are generally able to extrapolate the pattern, so it doesn't change wi…

Yeah, I never got any real advice from my parents about dating. I never really thought to ask either. My parents divorced when I was ten, didn't date other people after they split, and never really had their own friends outside of immediate family. I really had no point of reference growing up. My parents pressured me to focus on my career. At least that worked out for the best.

The fact that you have at least 24 exes (96% / 4%) where you initiated the breakup says you're still not finding partners that meet your standards. So you are in the top 5% of the market, which I agree exists. Bumping up your height requirement is still cutting your pool down from 5% to 2.5%. How many times do you need to roll the dice before you figure out the odds of the game? I guess it depends on what you're playing for. Action at the table or walking away with a pile of chips. To each their…

Whew, lots to unpack here. You may not be concerned, but you should be aware there are consequences of shrinking your pool. Narrowing the field down to 15% of the general population and expecting matches is either an asserion that you too are in the top 15% or match variance will yield you one of those men. Ngl by the tone of your responses it sounds like the latter. So you're getting matches. That doesn't necessarily propel you into Stacy territory because men swipe incessantly. The matches you…

I agree with you that men lie about their height. But seriously, what's your solution or how does the market look if the lies stop? If nothing else changed, and every woman kept the 6' requirement, it would take 80% of people out of contention. There has to be a solution that accounts proportionally to an individual's qualities. Grading people on a pass fail basis leaves a lot of potential to waste. If you're simply trying to end the practice, I could get behind that. Personally I think it would…

Men will lie until women finally give up on the lazy 6' height requirement. It's an invalid standard that over half of men fail to meet. Why would you expect them not to at least try to improve their chances? You would have done yourself a favor had you posted that you're 5'2", own 4" heels, and desire 4" inches of height differential in your wedding photos. At least at that point, it's clear that 5'10 is the threshold for you and not them. If he's 5'6", he might even be encouraged that there's …

I think it has to do with portion sizes more than anything. Food here is cheap - from the grocery store, drive through window, even at casual restaurants. The average meal at home or away is somewhere between 900 and 1400 calories. Triple that on any given day, and it's twice what our department of health recommends. I'm from the midwest, so it's ingrained into the culture to make big meals with plenty of extra, and never leave a plate unfinished.

Hey OP, ever think to just date two manlets? In the streets one sits on the other’s shoulders and you cover that shit up. Your gaggle of hens will be jealous you’re dating a seemly 7’ tall dude. In the sheets they work as a team until you’re worn out. There might be toys involved to augment the peenlets, if necessary. Any dude less than 6’ has no shame and will consent. Just pull a few in your van and try it out.

Actually, closer to $135,000 USD. Not unattainable for a white collar profession. Top 15% though.
