I am allowed to spend up to a certain amount any time without question. If its over that amount i have to ask first.

I do have a bookeeping from home job but now that both of my kids are in school full time i have opened an ebay resale shop and sell handmade wreaths as well. Wont make me a millionaire by any stretch but i love having extra money come in while i efficiently use my extra kid free time.

No fast food, sugar, pasta, bread . I do low carb and its a miracle for me. I basically just made the lifestyle change without much effort and felt so much better it's just how I eat now. This might be too rigid but cutting out or lowering these types of items even gradually is very beneficial. I still drink beer and wine though because I'm just not willing to give it up completely. I am almost 40 so I can't mess around with fad stuff.

This is totally understandable. I started at 29. Had 1 healthy boy. A miscarriage. Then twins, one died and one survived. My last pregnancy was at 31. I feel like if I where younger it would have been easier physically. And I wasn't in bad shape at all.

Do you want a child? Would you do anything you needed to to have one and then care for it no matter the outcome? If the answer is a resounding yes, then take step 1. Visit your doctor and have them do a full physical and go from there. People are living much longer these days. 61 is not as old as it once was. ;)

You haven't even given the man a chance to fail yet. Seems like you are trying to plan it by proxy. If he does a crap job then worry he didn't put any thought or planning into it. With this way of thinking he is doomed to not meet any of your expectations. This is why we rotate years in our house. Who wants to be the one under the pressure to lasso the moon every year? No one, that's who. What are you doing for his vday?

Can I ask how old the kids are and if they have any chore lists or charts? I have a "domestically blind" hubs too and me having the kids do a simple chore chart for points or whatever got the whole house ( hubs included) focused on working together to improve the environment we all live in. Just by me praising the kids for their albeit small accomplishments around the home it became a game for them. And the best part is, THEY became the nags on daddy's messy habits not me ;) two birds...

I had back to back c sections so Daddy was sitting behind the curtain right next to me. The doc asked if he wanted to cut the cord and when he stood up and looked over the curtain he promptly and harshly sat down and damn near passed out! After the baby was out he went with the nurse and followed the child while I was being stiched up. I'm so very glad he was there because I was physically unable to go with baby, which was awful for me. But I knew baby was being cared for until they brought me t…

I'm newer to reddit and it seems like the majority of folks are college age?

To me the gift in question signals "freaky make up sex"? I personally wouldn't have been offended in the slightest because I have a gross sense of humor. But I'm way old (35) and have been married since the dawn of time (10 married/ 20 together). In a newer relationship I could totally see why you would be turned off by this when it's been an emotional week with him. Tell him. Be open about it. If you prefer flowers to rubber dicks then politely say so. He can't read your mind, nor can you his. …

I love volunteering! With two small kids I find myself focused on helping out at school. Field days, trips, and fund raising. My children enjoy me being present in their educational lives and I like being a part of it.

I planned a date night for Saturday night to dinner ( Mexican, his favorite) arranged for the sitter and invited along our best friend couple. We then attended a comedy show, drinks afterwards. Sexy time at home. Sunday morning I made breakfast for him and the kids gave him their presents. He's a musician so he and his bff are currently jamming out in the studio. I purchased him a new drum set he wanted. I'm entertaining the kids and prepping for dinner and dessert currently. I think it's going …

I had back to back scheduled c sections ( due to other complications) and honestly I did everything I could think of to prepare myself mentally as best I could. I was still in a panic until magically I woke up one day ready to get the kid out no matter how it happened. I was done. Couldn't be pregnant a minute more. So for me, instincts took over and the worry disappeared. Not sure if that's typical but when you're ready you're ready! Best wishes!

Today I'm grateful that my SO has a good job that provides us with health insurance. That I was able to find a fantastic pediatric doctor for my sick kids. And finally, for this glass of wine; because wooosaaaa sick kids.

Excellent points here! I'm almost at year 20 myself ( hubs and I are both 35, met in high school) and for us it's laughter and humor. It's gotten us through the worst of the worst ( losing parents, children) and creates a space for just us that keeps us close. Great post thanks for sharing!

To me the whole thing is total bullshit. The only people oppressing me are other women. End of.

My goal since childhood was to be a SAHM. I went to school as a back up plan but I haven't needed to use it so far. It's awesome and I thank my husband every day for his continued hard work to allow us this lifestyle. There are some days here and there where I wonder what I could have done with myself if I had other goals in mind, but then again if I had wanted a career that badly I would have chosen that path. I get criticized openly by other women who feel that I've "wasted" my life or however…
