It’s admirable that you tried to be supportive and thoughtful toward your ex, likely because you want to make your kids happy and set a good example. Sadly, it often seems that women don’t appreciate the efforts their ex-husbands make. If you were her current partner, boyfriend, or husband, she might have gone out of her way to respond more positively, even on a bad day. From my coaching experience and personal observations, many ex-wives tend to be particularly petty and ungrateful toward their…

It sounds like a messy situation. The more important question is, why should you care if you presumably no longer have feelings for her? The opposite of love is not hate or frustration; it’s indifference. Let her say whatever she likes, and you just keep on the good path.

The problem with social media is that every issue and every piece of advice must be black or white. If you indulge, then you’re labelled a deviant loner, and if you abstain, then you’re considered a Christian goodie two-shoes. However, there is a balance in life that exists with or without humans taking things to extremes. Porn, in and of itself, is not the most toxic thing for a man if it’s seldom used. As other commenters have mentioned, a man who does not ejaculate at all is not doing his phy…

I don’t think the world has changed all that much for the vast majority of people. However, social media has created the impression that the lunatics are running the asylum. Most people are still reasonable and try to do what’s right, but their voices don’t get boosted in the algorithm, or they simply aren’t the type to seek online attention. Don’t lose hope; in my daily interactions with clients, I can see that the world is not as chaotic as it seems. Regarding your relationship with your wife,…

I think if you have the decency and common sense to recognize that it’s too early to introduce your kids to anyone new, then it seems you and your ex never truly aligned in terms of values. You’re right, it is too early. However, you need to remind yourself that she is a completely separate individual from you, and you can’t control her actions or reactions, except when they directly affect the kids. You are, however, entitled to express your concerns. From my personal experience and from coachi…

You shouldn’t attempt to close the gap when someone is distancing themselves. Instead, afford them the space they seek and draw back yourself, making yourself less immediately accessible. Trying to draw someone closer when they desire distance often results in them wanting to escape even further from you.

Thank you for sharing the challenges you’re facing; it sounds like a tough situation that closely mirrors my own experiences with a failed marriage. In brief, my ex-partner became involved with a close friend of mine, despite my having noticed his interest in her but choosing to overlook it. I had believed her to be compassionate, educated, and intelligent. However, it’s important to remember that people change over time. It’s unrealistic to expect someone to remain the same throughout their lif…

Take your time, keep optimistic and make sure to put yourself in situations where you're forced to meet new people all the time. It's about asking the right questions and putting the work in where it counts and you'll definitely be rewarded. Best of luck to you.

For me, it was less than a year, but this could differ for different people; some of us take longer to reflect and heal. I felt I had done enough work, and what helped me move forward was a single thought: when someone decides to end things with you, what they are effectively communicating is that their life is simply better without you in it. So, it was an easy choice. Like you, I dated a lot, but this time I was also dating with my little girl in mind. It’s not just about who I’m attracted to …

When someone decides to walk away, it’s not just about saying goodbye to what you have now; it’s about letting go of all those future plans you made together. Healing from such a loss is really a matter of time. The key is to take care of yourself while your heart heals. Looking back on my own journey through a divorce and the end of several long-term relationships, I’ve come to see a deeper meaning in those moments. When someone says they don’t want to be with you anymore, what they are ultimat…

I would be careful using ChatGPT, sorry to hear you've had poor experiences with previous lawyers but I'm going to go out on a limb here and say that could be bad luck. ChatGPT can maybe provide some solid answers to ironclad laws but a lot of laws, especially in arenas with a lot of human emotion tied in such as divorce cases, can be argued in legal settings in different ways. There's a reason ChatGPT hasn't replaced them yet! Best of luck.

My daughter was one and a half when my ex-wife and I separated. I was in a panic, fearing that she wouldn't recognize me as her real father or that my ex would turn her against me. I would have stayed in an unhappy marriage just so my kid could have both parents together (not that I had a choice either way.) But I realized that this would be more toxic for her as she grew up. The next best thing, aside from a loving household with both biological parents, was for me to be present in her life, gi…

It was the same for me until I embraced an abundance mindset too! It’s as if you’re declaring, “I’m fine on my own terms,” and that self-assurance is magnetic. People gravitate towards those who are self-sufficient, who don’t chase after validation. It’s fine to show interest, but maintaining your autonomy, not looking for someone to fill a gap, is crucial, particularly at the start. Just keep being you, relishing your life, and let things unfold naturally. It seems you’re striking the right bal…
