True. I stayed in mine for years beyond the expiration date for a variety of reasons. Money, kids, loyalty, etc.

I’m just going by stats I could find. Divorce rate is around 45% on average. But I don’t disagree with you based on anecdotal evidence.

Personally, the problem is marriage. Long term committed relationships are great, but once that marriage license is signed, everything changes.

Couldn’t agree more. I know it sounds like bitterness and a negative take, but the reality is it can spell real disaster. And yeah, man, the gov being involved may be the worst part. Especially considering the deck is stacked against us heavily in divorce. It’s criminal, really.

This sub, along with similar ones, is great for seeing why NOT to get married. It’s about a 50/50 shot of failure/success that I wish I wouldn’t have taken.
