Emotional support and understanding is really all I want right now, but I'm barely a month away from D-Day. Sex would be nice too since I've only slept with my ex and we were together 15 years. Curious what other responses come in as I'm struggling with the same thoughts.

I'm not going to claim to be an expert, I'm just as broken as this guy. This is just a summary of all the best advice I've received on this sub and, after a lot of self-reflection, the way I have decided to move forward.

Brother, you sound like a "nice guy" and that is a problem for any serious relationship. No offense, but this woman likely settled for you and was in this other relationship prior to yours. Don't sit around wallowing in your own shit, focus on improving yourself and becoming the man you always wanted to be. Don't drink. Sign up for a gym and start working out every day. Invest into personal care products. Read "No More Mr. Nice Guy" by Robert Glover. Watch "Strong Successful Male" on YouTube, ke…

Thanks brother. Luckily I got this advice from one of the few real men in my life. I stuck her with her financed phone/smart watch/tablet and got my own cell service. My paycheck just arrived in my new account. My mom recently got a massive amount of financial stability, finally confided that she hated this bitch and sent me a few grand to help out. I did not even think about life insurance, I'll get that updated today. It's been a rollercoaster for me. I now know I'm a certified "nice guy" and …

I see you updated to clarify you were saying to jump on divorce. That's what I want at this point, but I'm trying to manipulate her now. She's agreeing to what benefits me a lot and I'm telling her I just need time apart to decide whether it's over or not. I think if I start bringing up divorce, she'll have a change of heart.

Thanks, I started getting weak when I posted this and she was back with her manipulative behavior trying to take advantage and draw me back in. I'm in a better place now, stronger than ever now that I'm officially in my new place. Thanks for the SSM rec, loving what I'm hearing so far. I need to keep these reassuring voices in my head and this is perfect.

Thanks man. I'm in the "Divorce Capital of the World" at the moment, so I'm hoping I don't need an attorney. With us signing separate leases at the same time and me having to help her with deposits I'm too broke to afford one and now I'm wanting to expedite things before she has a change of heart, since I'm making out pretty well with what she agreed to so far. And thank you for the personal advice as well. I can see her trying to manipulate me again and I've been such a mess that I catch myself…

Thanks. I started then stopped then questioned myself after how easy it was to get her to agree to terms that benefit me so much and now I'm pushing even hard for the legal separation.

This. The end of the story was a massive plot twist. These are many of the signs I saw in retrospect the first time I caught her, then knew immediately when she started doing it again. No way this woman is being faithful.

Thanks for the summary, brother. This is all the information I've been looking for.

I'm sorry man, sounds like she has been building a case against you for awhile. I don't have any advice to give since I'm on the other side of this. Do your best to protect yourself.

Thanks for the advice. I've heard the grocery and retail store approach quite a few times on this and the alcoholics subs I'm on. Great point about them needing to be alone as well, in any situation I was considering doing something it was always in a group of two or more women, and I definitely don't have the game for that at this time. Like I said, I'm too close to the split to really even consider this, but I just need some hope for what my life could look like once I have some stability. Che…

I'm in a similar situation and I made all the wrong decisions after finding out. Definitely avoid alcohol, I gave up two years sober after I found out and confronted her halfway through a fifth of vodka. Don't confront her at all, don't let her know you know. Quietly start setting up your new life and gathering information and evidence. Once you are fully prepared, start the battle. Good luck brother.

Well it's WAY too soon to be considering dating (caught her cheating again a couple weeks back and moving out tomorrow) but I'm curious how you approach these women. I was 19 when I met my STBXW. The apps weren't a thing when I was dating last, and I only really had one significant relationship before her. I drunkenly signed up and matched with someone I work with (luckily I used an old photo basically unrecognizable from me now....I hope) and quickly deleted. I moved away from any family or fri…

I'm only now realizing that my family hated my wife. I have 15 years of the attention I gave to her to make up for now.

I don't know if it was this sub or one of the alcoholics ones I'm on, but someone recommended getting a part time job or doing volunteer work in something you are interested in. It provides a good platform to meet like-minded that aren't currently in your social circle.

I am actually going to print this and post it in my new place somewhere. I'm two weeks removed from catching my wife cheating (again) and I have been trying to stay strong. Been a rollercoaster of emotions this week though as I just signed a lease at a new house and have been separating and packing. Started reverting back to that nice guy mentality and questioning my decision. Definitely going to check out those book recs. Thank you sir!

That's heartbreaking man. I hope you left with some self worth, or found it outside of the relationship. Please take care of yourself and (I'm guessing) your kids.

Thanks for sharing. I'm about 9 days out from the events and still as sure as my decision as I was the first day. I forgave her once as well and probably subconsciously did the same as you. The situation was pretty different last time, she was Catfished and there wasn't actually a real person on the other end. But it showed me who she was, something I'd thought I would never see. This time there is real person and I know exactly who they are. Luckily, I did a lot to prepare myself for this day. …

How long were you putting up with the bad situation? 35 years is a long time, I haven't even made it to that many years lived.

Dude, it was just so God damn shocking the first time. Never ever thought she'd do this. I threatened everything I'm doing now but that succubus convinced me to take her back. Guess it was just about money since she's way better off now that I pushed her into a new career that she's excelling in.

Yup with my current perspective I see it all now. Thought I was doing the right thing by forgiving her. I'll never make that mistake again.

Yeah that's what I was trying to say, she's not going to stop her ways. I'm filing the separation papers, moving out and doing everything I need to prepare. Didn't even consider the 401K so I obviously have a lot of work to do.

I definitely needed to hear this. I think you're right, I thought of it as a sign of strength, but she likely saw it as a reason to do it again. It took awhile for her to realize I'm serious this time and it's great finally getting to see her start worrying.

Yeah, I've been patient with her long enough. I can wait out another year for her to make more mistakes and give me time to prepare.

That's a good point. My father-in-law was always on the prowl when on his business trips. My poor mom stuck with him knowing about it for years, thinking it was best for the family. It wasn't.

I posted this in another thread, but figure I should add my story here as well. Sorry that it's so long, I don't expect anyone to read any or all of it. I found my wife talking to another man a few years back- hundreds of texts/sexts/nudes. It was at the beginning of COVID and a catfish situation, we'd been together 12 years at that point (married 8) and had some issues here and there, but other than some yelling matches and storm-offs while drunk, we got along pretty well. I decided to forgive …

Thanks for sharing. Just found this sub after printing up all my separation papers. Not on my main account to keep things as private as possible. This story really resonated with me and I have nobody to vent to, so I'm just going to add it here. I am curious though, why does it seem women are more and more prone to promiscuity these days? I feel like I used to only hear about men cheating, but it seems the tables have turned over the last decade or so. Anyways, I found my wife talking to another…
