I think it's a personality thing, since in my case it was my now xh. I just can't understand how they can do a 180.

"no real effort to save the marriage" Yep, I can relate to that too. I hope you find peace too.

That makes sense. And thanks for bringing up closure. That might be something that's missing for me too. And now that you mentioned the word respect, I think that the disrespect is something I will never understand either.

I still haven't gotten angry after my husband left, and I'm not sure I will either. Maybe I'm still in shock? I actually think that I'm incredulous. While I have come to terms with it and am moving on, I still just don't understand it.

You can usually get a low cost consult with divorce attorney through your state Bar Association. I'm not an attorney, but I would recommend doing that, and finding out what they recommend you to do.

That's a great idea, thank you. Are you playing an instrument or listening to music you like?

Yes, nothing like health issues to see who decides to honor "in sickness and in health", etc. I like that you say you now have the opportunity to try to work on managing symptoms, because I think there's a possibility to feel better without a negative partner around. On the other hand, the opposite can also be true of course, that with the right kind of partner we'll feel much better.

I'm working on focusing on building my own life and the new person I want to be. This may sound easy but it's not. My chronic health limitations are complicating things, and I don't know how to deal with that. But I'm thinking a key is to find something to feel alive about again.

Exercise, therapist, a good lawyer or two, a financial planner. Maybe also start thinking about moving?

How would you address or fix that system or pattern issue?

Other Shoe Dropping, losing one's sense of permanency. That's really well put. I haven't been dating yet, but I can relate to this already.

Not the man, but I was frozen stuck for several years. I think two things have helped me. It became easier when the divorce was finalized and I was no longer in limbo, could move on and also did not have to see my ex as often so I felt I could focus on building my own life. Another thing was that I consciously tried to focus on building my own energy and positivity, specifically by seeing a therapist and various energy workers that focused on positive things.

I would get the lawyer as quickly as possible, you can usually get a cheap consult and recommendation if you contact your county Bar Association. In addition, from what I understand, you should not leave your house, because that could be considered abandonment. Note that I'm not a lawyer, however. Another thing is to keep an eye on any joint bank accounts, etc. But a lawyer will tell you more about that.

You can kill a man, but you can't kill an idea.
