I even myself hard time accepting the fact I suffer from mental health issues because as a society we are told as child, mental health issues = mentally retard. I don't know what to say. I have very good life now. Very good paying job, some decent friends. I go out often, joining salsa/bachata classes recently. Still I feel very depressed a lot of times. It has never happened with me before so first 6 months, I kept thinking I am upset because I lost my close friend and it's normal and if I give myself enough time, I will be fine.
