Society doesn't tell you this. Your own internalized patriarchal standards make you feel this way. That's on you, and that's something you can work on. Oh, and you don't get to complain about gender roles when you're opposing feminism. That's not how it works. Manchild is a term used against men who fail adulting, much like I said. This is typically because men are mollycoddled during their youth, and some never mature. You don't see women called this because women were socialized to grow up and…

Here's some advice I know you won't take: learn to accept facts even when they contradict your worldview and make you uncomfortable.

This is difficult, because there are no clear rules. There's lots of nuance. So read carefully with an open mind. While we don't always like to be approached in public, there are some couples who have met that way, so it's not like I can say it's totally off limits. But, it does however usually require you to extraordinarily charming and socially calibrated -- something that men on this sub DEFINITELY ARE NOT. I repeat, unless you are very charming and socially calibrated (you probably aren't if…

Who is saying that you need to become the top 0.5% of men otherwise you're a loser? I'm serious, I have never of this. Women don't. Men are upset by patriarchal expectations that they themselves set up, and then blame women for it. Make it make sense! I hate shaming people and I don't agree with this -- but outside of high school, men are only really considered "losers" if they fail the very basics of adulting (so imagine a shut-in NEET with atrocious mental health and no skills and has never do…

The average US man works retail, has a BMI of 29, and yet has around 7 sexual partners throughout his life. Reddit's weird idea that you have to be some ultra-athletic, 6'4 Silicon Valley CEO in order to date an average woman is so delusional -- and frankly it sounds like lazyness ("I'm totally not too lazy to put myself out there! I-i-it's just that women only chose the top 0.5% so it's not worth it anyways... I swear!"). Or the other explanation is that they set their goal to "date girls like …

For women who value masculinity, it's a big deal. For women who don't value masculinity, it's not a big deal.

Oh I think a male Karen is called a Ken! It's likely that they are former high school/college jocks who are way past their glory days and now upset about not being able to bully their way to what they want.
/r/PurplePillDebate01/07/23 10:07 AM

What's your strongest opposite-pill opinion? I'll start. Mine is that Karen's are miserable and angry because they no longer receive pretty privilege. They're used to privilege, so equality feels like oppression. When they were in their "prime" (ugh, I sound like a nasty redpiller 🤢) in the 80s things were less set in stone than they are today -- so you could REALLY get away with some stuff if you were a pretty young white woman who could charm men.

Okay, I get that. I'm moreso asking why guys feel so terrible about not reaching that absurdly high standard. For example, I'm sure that those earning $700, 000 a year (also the top 0.5%, but for income) have innumerable benefits and privileges that I don't. Do I care? Not really. Do I lament about not being them? Not really. A hallmark sign of maturity is being able to accept you will never have some things, and instead learn to work around them somehow. Surely modern men are not so entitled as…

Why this obsession with becoming the "top 0.5% man"? If you want to do it then sure, by all means devote yourself to the grind and chase your dreams. But for Christ's sake, y'all talk like you are forced to! Why is that?

This is the difference between men and women. Actually, I'd go as far as say that men should learn from women. It would solve a lot of their issues. Relationships are optional. We get emotional fulfillment from our friends. Therefore, we aren't really eager to jump into a relationship with just any man. Whereas most men are socialized to depend on their partner for intimacy and emotional fulfillment, which is terrible for a whole lot of reasons.

Imagine if we applied that logic elsewhere. These guys have “no job skills” because employers have never shown interest in them. Its a vicious cycle. The vast majoiry of those guys have given up trying early in life. It doesn’t take much rejection at that age to learn you don’t have what it takes in this insane job market. See how ridiculous this is?

You're not competing against a 6'5 quarterback, or a 34 year old Millionaire on steroids. You're competing against a Hitachi wand, Netflix and wine. If what you offer a woman is greater than the three aforementioned things, she will pick you. End of story.

Unremarkable people date all the time.
/r/PurplePillDebate29/06/23 10:11 PM

Tough luck I guess. Have you considered dating men?
/r/PurplePillDebate29/06/23 05:46 AM

You seem to be under the impression that I am vehemently against self-improvement. I am not. I do however believe that guys who struggle with dating would have much better outcomes if they first focused on defining themselves and figuring out who they really are. It becomes extremely difficult to connect with women when his only defining traits are "confident, well-dressed and six-pack". It is not what a relationship is built on. The idea that successful relationships hinge on this is pure redpi…

Becoming more attractive will make someone more attractive, yes. I never said otherwise. Stop thinking in binary terms. My point -- and what I assume OP is saying -- is that for romantically unsuccessful guys, it's a more bang-for-their-buck to figure out who they actually are. Because more often than not, this is the very reason they're struggling to date. People overwhelmingly end up with someone similar to themselves. It's no wonder then that if one wants someone physically attractive by conv…
/r/PurplePillDebate27/06/23 01:50 PM

It's self masturbation done to avoid addressing the more underlying problems that's preventing them from dating in the first place. The reason why only a minority of men fulfill these things you listed, but yet a majority of men are able to date, is because they have a grip on who they are and thus know how to advertise themselves. The fat nerd who likes wings, sci-fi and DnD will openly advertise himself as that, and consequently find a compatible woman who is just into that. Romantically unsuc…

Men are for the first time ever finding out they have to be likable in order to get laid, and they hate it.

So, being nice per se is not attractive. Being a good person can make someone attractive -- and it usually does in most cases -- but "nice" is often a euphemism for "timid, shy and reserved to the point where you don't display any personality but also don't really offend anyone". I'm sorry to say, but very few women find that attractive. It's sort of better to have a strong personality that's offensive, than it is to have an incredibly bland and timid "nice" one, you know? women like attorneys -…

You seem to view dating as game where there's a scoreboard displaying the sum of you and your partners "stats", and the objective of the game is to get as high of a score as possible. This is a very weird and shallow way of viewing interpersonal relationships, and most people do not view it that way. People date because generally speaking, a strong, romantic bond with another person is enjoyable and enhances your life. But okay, let us assume you are right. I have two questions. 1) The percentag…

I will try to summarize this as well as I possibly can. You are not discriminated against. You may personally feel anxious about being perceived as a threat, or being rejected in social situations, but this is a you problem. You can work on this. Unless you take things into your own hands and stop being a victim of circumstance, you and all the other blackpilled incels will never get what y'all want. Like the kids today say: it's a "skill issue" (...I hope I'm using that right!). If one does not…

Remind me to say that to a woman the next time she complains about "patriarchy" or "male privilege." You not being able to socialize is a you problem. Not a society problem. There are no systemic barriers preventing you from socializing. You are not being discriminated against because you are a (romantically unsuccessful) male. People tell you that if you're having trouble finding a partner then there's something very wrong with you that you need to change. If you want your life to change for th…

Eh, conventionally attractive guys do this stuff too when you reject them. It's simply a function of male entitlement and an inability to deal with negative emotions.

It's not that we downplay it. It's more like, what more do you actually want from us? Do you want us to slide in your DMs and offer our bodies? Because that's never going to happen. While I can empathize with someone who struggles with feelings of loneliness, it's ultimately up to you to fix it. If you are an adult, it's your responsibility to fix your problems. I can give you my sympathy, but my sympathy will never fix your problems or alleviate your pain. That's on you to fix. You know exactly…

Confidence is knowing (and being accepting of!) your limitations and weaknesses. Think about it: if I claim that I am a perfect human being with no limitations, then it means that I am insecure about my flaws and deficiencies. That's the very opposite of confidence!

Sure, why not? Most would only care if it's indicative of a more serious, underlying psychological problem. Which is certainly possible, but is not always the case.

I find this absolutism funny. Have you ever been around heavyweight powerlifters? In a real powerlifting gym, I mean? They're pretty much all either married or engaged. Many women absolutely love overweight and muscular men ("bears").

Yeah! The same opinions that will get you ostracized (or alternatively, socked in the jaw if male) IRL, will get you praise and validation on anonymous online echochambers. And if not, then the negative attention and outrage from "the others" might feel equally good. Especially considering one is free from experiencing any consequences of their actions. And I don't think it's only a lack of consequences of accountability that makes people lose empathy online -- I think it also has to do with the…

Getting the hell of the internet and touching grass! People are always absurdly more sociopathic, extremist and disagreeable online than they are IRL. I guess it's because they can vent and feel validated without getting checked.

The majority of single men are single because they chose to be single. I don't mean that in a "hurrdurr you chose to be a weak, flabby piece of shit!" redpill kind of way, but rather that they are not currently looking for a relationship or are not interested in one. 70% of American men are overweight or obese. Yet the percentage of (cishet) men who have never had a girlfriend or sex despite wanting to is much smaller than that -- I mean way, way smaller of a figure than black- and red-pillers w…

Eh, not really sure what you meant by it. I do not use such sexist and emotionally charged slurs myself. However! Redpillers, manospherians et al. use "pussy" to refer to emotionally in-tune men and men who are okay with showing vulnerability (what's that old RP saying again? Something about having to be an emotional rock to give cock...?). And if that's the definition of a "pussy", then no, women do NOT hate "pussies". What is true however, is that people (yes, men and women alike!) tend to dis…

People despise weakness, not vulnerability. Guys, please don't mistake it. It's not a binary between "stoic sigma male ENTJ conqueror carnivore aurelius viking samurai who has never once cried in his life" and "overly neurotic, people-pleasing socially anxious crybaby victim-mentality shut-in NEET with no friends". You don't have to be either extreme, and in fact neither extreme is desirable. The beloved man is he who is strong and emotionally healthy. Mentally resilient, assertive and capable o…

Average men get average women. I think that the funniest thing is that people on this sub recognize what average is, but then also completely forget that the average man is in fact successful at dating. Rather than admit this though, they would rather move the goalposts ("she's just fat and ugly anyways it doesn't count!" or something along those lines).
