Honestly dude, I'd strongly suggest you use the energy you're spending with resentment and invest it in learning to be proactive in dating instead. Yes, some things will always be the same but how you choose to respond doesn't have to be.

Yes, but in hindsight I should have resented my shyness and indecision, not the expectations.

I have a bit of regret about high school, because I wonder what kind of friends and relationships I might have formed if I hadn’t been so painfully shy. In my early 20s there was also resentment about why guys always need to approach, why I couldn’t just be shy and still get a gf, etc. But in my early 20s once I started actually being proactive about it, going to events, talking to people, and reaching out to others, even though I got rejected a lot romantically I stopped complaining to myself a…

I feel like 20% of the girls going into any given Hot Topic are into all three of those things. (At least when I was a teen they did, though the world has changed since then) But really that’s besides the point, since you touch on a major issue of online dating, apparently without realizing it: it creates this false expectation that someone NEEDS to be interested in all the same niche things as you to have a relationship. Which in fairness if you manage to find success finding someone so particu…

No matter how "good" your personality is, it will never be enough to make up for a lack of attraction. Probably less than 10% of guys are so attractive that personality is a non-factor. The remaining 90% are definitely in a position where personality will have an impact on attraction, either positive or negative.

You know, I think this explains how my luck with dating changed so much after, well … accepting Jesus. It was a matter of choosing unconditional love over hate. Wishing the absolute best for others, even and in fact especially the people who reject and hurt me the most. And at the same time, feeling completely at ease with god’s love, even if there was no love to be had for me in this world. Though ironically less than three months later a very cute girl confessed her feelings for me and was cry…

Red Pill is an ideology that is far more fanatic and removed from reality than what you describe in your post imo Your post is more like Orange Pill at the absolute most. I’d even say more purple than orange.

So I haven’t followed or looked at the Red Pill in around 10 years, and maybe it’s changed dramatically since then. But my experience is that yes, they outright say “All Women Are Like That,” that literally every single marriage ever is destined to fail, without exception, that literally every single girl is exactly as red pill philosophy says (and those who aren’t are considered ‘unicorns’ aka nonexistent), anything except pure Red Pill philosophy will never lead to happiness, any sort of kindn…

Well, if only we could all be as sexy as you there’d be a lot more happy men in this world Mr. Raven

Especially red-pill self-improvement, which is centered around improvement exclusively for sex at the expense of literally any other enjoyment in life and on top of that only EVER works if incredibly attractive. It’s a double whammy express way to miserableville for 90% of people having trouble dating. I tried it for years with very little to show for it except nearly constant rejection. I can’t say what will work for others but two things worked for me. One, the New Testament. I feel eyes rolli…

So, if I understand correctly you have never actually tried a cold approach and while you have a hypothesis, you have not tested it in any way, shape or form. Is that a fair assumption?

Actually, I don’t really get your point. Of course some percentage of people are going to get annoyed or offended. That would have been true in 1985 and 2005 as well. In that case you just back away and let them carry on with life. Do you think people should never ever take any action that might offend or annoy another person, or cause someone to mistakenly get the impression they are being hit on under any circumstances? If so fair enough but it’s a bit silly in that case to pretend 2025 is wha…

I think the best way to see ‘cold approaching’ is not so much specifically to get dates but just as a side effect of being out in the world as a social person and making a habit of starting conversations with strangers as a normal part of your day. Yes, not only cute girls but also just, taking an interest in people in general. If you happen to get along well with a cute girl as part of this process and end up sharing contact info, nice! But it shouldn’t be expected. At least when I did it there…

There’s a truth to what you’re saying, in that if someone can’t find love they have an obligation to try and overcome that and build towards something like a good life. But there are real, incredibly strong, very persuasive biological mechanisms that govern sex, attraction, love, and pair bonding. If your idea is “Well, most men just have not de-centered women” That’s like telling somebody suffering from lifelong major depression, “Well, have you tried just not being depressed? I haven’t been de…
