Goddamn... I know someone exactly like this. Hell, I've even walked up on them sleeping while browsing facebook.

Also, you don't have to just pick programming or some random thing. Try to find what you really have a passion for. Putting effort into it will be FAR easier and you will most likely be more efficient with your time. If you WANT to learn something and genuinely have a passion for it, things will be a lot easier. As for the 5 hours of sleep per night, I did that in engineering school and you just end up with a weird dazed feeling all day and heart palpitations here and there. Get sleep, seriously…

Reminded me of the mexican guy in Idiocracy. How he kept giving that girl money and she kept promising that she'd come back and he could be with her. She never did, but he kept giving her money in the hopes of her coming back to have sex with him lol.

The term I've been seeing lately isn't far from what you mentioned. There's an architectural firm that has a lot of female "Job Captains" and note how that's not a protected engineering title. No PE in other words.

That's a good point. I think you're right. Not only that, but it would be a huge distraction for some of the guys here in their early 20's. These are the typical (slightly nerdy) just-out-of-school guys and if there was a girl in the office, nothing would get done and she would be shown exactly what to do all day. It's a multifaceted problem.

I work for a firm where we all regularly put in ~70 hour weeks and often without taking weekends off for an entire month if projects are really in full swing. I'm not against women in engineering at all, but I have worked hard to earn my respect from other employees. The boss has toyed with the idea of hiring girls, but they don't ever want to work more than 40 hours a week (from his 16 years of experience). If a girl came in and started either getting respect just for her looks, special treatme…

"wiccan candle system".... Goddamn that was funny! I'll have to remember that one. That's about how it works too.

I don't understand why someone would marry after their girlfriend got pregnant. I understand the cultural pressure, but you're already going to be dealing with child support, why sign a document so she can take half your wealth on top of the child support? I'm 27 and never grew up with my dad. When I turned 18, my mom's first words were "you should find your dad. He probably has a lot of money." Makes me sick.

You can kill a man, but you can't kill an idea.
