This wouldn't be such a big deal if I had a permanent rotation. (See edit above) Thanks for the input!

I actually read this earlier and it made me ponder if we could put something in there about it being 50/50 based on my schedule each week. May be something to ask the attorney about. We have a lot of people in this area that work this schedule, so I'm sure they've seen it before.

Yeah, it's definitely a less than ideal situation. No real timeline on going permanent. Someone has to retire or move up. I can usually predict based off vacation scheduling what my schedule will be a couple weeks in advance, but it isn't set in stone until the Thursday prior to the week. Luckily, for now, my stbx is very accommodating and isn't trying to keep them from me. And she may never try. But I am trying to protect myself.

I guess I should have specified what a Dupont schedule is. (4N-3off-3D-1off-3N-3off-4D-7off). Confusing until you work it. My parents have been an absolute blessing so far. But my dad is in the late stages of dementia and I can't possibly ask them to keep this up. My daughter will also be starting school in August in the town over (about a 15 min drive). That's why I'm leaning towards only being able to keep them when I'm off or on nights the next day because I'll have to bring them to school. T…

My schedule is (4N-3off-3D-1off-3N-3off-4D-7off). Confusing until you work it. My main issue right now is that I've only been in the job for 2 years and are still what's considered a pool operator. That's a fancy name for "we can change your schedule every week and there ain't shit you can do about it". Once I am able to land a permanent spot, that will most likely be what we do. Just trying to get some ideas to bring to the table.

You can kill a man, but you can't kill an idea.
