It's not about validation, it's about an honest accounting of yourself. How can you get yourself sorted if you don't know who you are?

Your ego doesn't make you do or say anything. You do and say things. You.

It's not an appeal to authority, it's your opinion that "no one" in the field of psychology takes him seriously. You have no evidence to support you claim. He has tenure at the University of Toronto, and has taught at Harvard, so that's at least two institutions in the field of psychology that take him seriously.

If you don't know how to recognize yourself, you will fall prey to them.

No, they're not the same thing. MB is based on Cognitive Theory and Big5 is based on Lexical Hypothesis. Big5 measures according to a dimensional scale where MB divides into preset types. MB focuses on what you think where Big5 focuses on your actions. They are similar only in that they are personality measurements. Filet mignon and sausage are similar in that they're food, you're not calling them basically they same thing.

A 13 year old article from the Economist? I'm convinced. And Vox is peer-reviewed now? Impressive. And you state there's no difference between Meyers-Briggs and Big 5, yet they work on entirely different mechanics. So, being that you know Peterson is a fraud, based on his study of Jung, show us the error of our ways by producing YouTube lecture series so we can watch you dismantle this opportunistic fraud.

You talk a lot kid, but this post was 5 paragraphs of whether or not you would see your ex who cheated on you in high school, followed by humble bragging and telling us what you're "about to do." Here's a hint, you're not about to do anything, ever. You're only doing or not doing. You're 17. 5 years ago you were 12. You don't know anything. Stay humble, keep working hard, figure out where your going, then go there.

You are not your identity. You are not your ego. You are not who you think you are. You are the sum total of your actions. That's it.

Read Dostoevsky''s Notes From the Underground. That's a classic, near perfect description of a narcissist.

You never define an "acceptable woman." You say she "should" be judge on a standard and then you don't provide that standard, or any standard You keep stammering on with this word, "should." When the fuck did "should" ever count? Kids "shouldn't" starve to death. People "shouldn't" be jailed for their political or religious convictions. You "should" be happy. There are the way things are and what "should" be. Figure out which one you can do something about.

Introspection is necessary for personal growth. Introspection without action is masturbation.

I want you to find someone, a friend if you have one, and have him read your own comments back to you. See if you don't hate yourself if you hear it in someone else's voice. "Yes, he's bad, but so is everyone." "No one is perfect, so I'll just idolize a fictional monster, lol." "My other heroes are also fictional sociopaths, but more 2-dimensional so they don't even have flaws." I'm telling you this hero worship is pointless, because you are already these bastards. You don't have their power, th…

My friend, you are lost down a dark path and have no idea what road you're following. I've watched the whole series a few times, because 1. It's great television, and 2. It's a warning. Tony Soprano is an awful human being. He is a vile murderer, who strangles his own cousin, whom, by the way, he views as a son. That's really caring about family, and doing what's best for them, right? Tony Soprano is an unrepentant narcissist, and after 7 years of therapy, still has no idea who he is, or shows a…

I think you need to understand what "discipline" and "motivation" mean. Motivation is not about joyful action. Motivation can be abjectly horrifying. Let's say a man murders someone because they are about to expose them for being a fraud. The man is motivated to murder to protect his identity. There is no joy in it. But he had plenty of motivation. The process you describe to "manage motivational energy" is actually pretty close to a discipline. Being motivated to do something often feels like y…

Your role models are fictional sociopaths. If you think a fat Barney Flintstone who had mommy issues and is married to a harpy is an aspirational figure, boy, I've got some news for you.

First of all, stop thinking and start acting. Second, your self-talk is horrible. If you keep referring to yourself as you do, you will continue to set yourself up for failure, because you will "deserve" it. Took me years to learn I need to talk to myself like I talk to my best friend or father.

You are lazy, weak, delusional, and ignorant. Most people simply don't know how to lose weight. Every jackass with a keyboard screams about "calories in, calories out," and "exercise" without knowing any of the physiological processes behind losing weight. First off, reducing your calorie intake to starvation levels pretty much guarantee's you're going to fail. Your body freaks the fuck out and begins hoarding energy, since it thinks there's no more coming in. You feel like shit, weak, worthless…
