Exactly. I’m nonbinary; thanks for the validation though :)

Speaking as a Scottish person, kilts are literally just a different type of skirt. Just because you personally wouldn’t want to wear a skirt doesn’t mean other guys wouldn’t, and not everyone has to conform to your limited view of what genders should wear which clothes.

‘Girls clothes’ They’re different lengths of fabric; I don’t see the issue here. Just because society has dictated for a long time that men wear X and women wear Y doesn’t mean that society is right.

I got wind of this and I’m happy the teachers came out in support but pissed about the boy getting expelled

Speaking as a Scottish person, it’s up to you. I think tradition technically dictates that you shouldn’t wear anything under a kilt, but fuck tradition, so you do you.

Don’t pull the ‘age=wisdom’ card. The vast majority of the time, that theory is complete bullshit. Dismissing someone’s ideas out of hand because they’re younger than you does not help you expand your knowledge and further develop your beliefs and experience; in fact, it has the adverse effect.

The boy who was expelled wore a skirt (presumably) because he wanted to, and was expelled for whatever bullshit ‘reason’ the school provided. The male teachers then wore skirts as an act of defiance and support. I’m not seeing any brainwashing here.

Why is it ridiculous, exactly?

Yeah, how dare he wear a different length of fabric than the one you want him to! Also, I dare you to come to Scotland and say that to a burly Glaswegian in a kilt

What you consider ‘normal’ is entirely subjective and based on your experience and beliefs. Criticising others for not being ‘normal’ is an invalid criticism.

‘Weird’ is subjective

You can kill a man, but you can't kill an idea.
