You don't have to. This stuff happens all the time.

This is the first time I've ever stumbled upon a pun thread that was still bruin.

I warn everyone to stay away from that website. I read about three quarters before my head started throbbing.

I have to disagree. It was just her saying that women could raise a child without a father in the picture. It didn't say they were better off doing so, nor did it say men couldn't do the same without a mother in the picture.

I definitely agree that there is a need for a forum to discuss MR's issues, I just sort of feel a lot of the posts here lose sight of what MR issues actually are. And with the Jennifer Aniston article...she didn't say anything inflammatory about men. The Reddit headline was extremely misleading, and the article simply quoted her saying women were capable of raising children without a father present. She didn't say men couldn't, nor did she say men were useless. My brother and I were raised by a …

Exactly. I enjoyed reading MensRights when I first started (I'm male), but it's just seeming like looking for reasons to hate on women...like that Jennifer Aniston thing where she said women can raise children on their own.

Really? There is no way this is even almost a gender issue. It's someone simply sharing about a crush that wont work out.

I personally don't remember reading that. I've been reading a while, but it wasn't until recently that I actually signed up and customized my front page and started delving into other subreddits. I'm not suggesting (or at least it wasn't my intent to suggest) that after anyone is a victim of anything, you should tell them "you should have tried harder to do X." Nor did I suggest that taking advantage of someone who doesn't do their part to stay safe is justified. I am, however, saying that if yo…

Can only hope so; having the article at least means they found the truth.

Nope. This cabbie was from Edmonton, Canada.

It may be easier than you think. I didn't read the article, just a video for you.

It's mentioned as a joke, however this is an important point that needs to be emphasized in my opinion. What I'm going to say may seem pretty inflammatory, however I just want to note: I am not saying dressing skimpy or anything like that makes it the victim's fault. I am, however, saying that people need to be educated against making stupid decisions. A girl, for example, going out in an extremely provocative outfit isn't at fault, but she's hardly doing her part. In an ideal world anyone could…

Well, on the topic of unpopular opinions... I sort of agree with you. It's fair to target most advertisements about rape towards men. That being said, it goes both ways. Rape is sort of held over mens heads as a threat. Hearing about women "crying wolf" is all too common. Rape is a very serious thing, and people react to it as such. I've had this happen to me personally, even. At work there is an area that customers aren't allowed to go for safety reasons. A girl a bit younger than me starts to …

I feel the headline of this topic is really pretty misleading. She never says fathers are redundant. She just says women are capable of raising children without fathers. I think this is reasonable, just like men can raise children without a mother. Also, I'm not sure where your stats came from, but on the topic of statistics...many areas (like the Bronx, NY) that contain a lot of single mothers turn out "junkie whores" because of the area they grow up in instead of being raised by a single mothe…

I don't think I projected entitlement in any way. I said that one person paying for a date doesn't entitle them to sex. I think the PSA is trying to stress that same point. Whether you expect "reciprocation" or not is a personal thing, however no matter your expectations you don't have the right to demand or force anyone into sex. I'm not sure where you second argument is coming from/what it is. Neither I nor the PSA implied that expecting/asking a women to pay for part/all of a date is rape. Al…

I think your quote is leaving out an important part. He continues to say "she already consented to have you sexually penetrate her." He isn't saying that her flirting/seducing him entitles him to sex. I'd like to make it clear that I'm not suggesting either side loses the ability to say stop once consent was given, however having sex with someone that changes their mind midway through isn't rape. Forcing them to continue after they say something along the lines of "stop" is another story.

First off, this clearly isn't how a PSA would look if I made it. That being said, the last panel isn't about the girl not owing him money after he paid for a date. It's not saying men should be responsible to pay for dates. It's saying that paying for a date doesn't entitle you to sex. I think that's fair to say.

Alright, I think I've got this one. There were a few girls in Edmonton that got in a cab for a ride. They tried to light a cigarette (illegal in Edmonton cabs) and the cabbie told them to put it out or pay a fine. Instead the girls told him to pull over. They then refused the pay the $13 to the cabbie. Instead, they got out and drew a crowd saying the cabbie sexually molested them. They called the cops. The joke was on them. The cabbie had a security camera running in the cab (was installed afte…

Alright, normally I just vote in either direction to make my feelings known, however I felt compelled to let you know that this is one of the best posts I've read in a long time.

You had me until that last one. Not that guys should unconditionally pay for everything, but paying doesn't guarantee you're gonna get some.
