You should do more research. You are just blatantly wrong. It’s very common for victims to be so traumatized they don’t realize that they’ve experienced an assault. This is especially common among men since often male assault isn’t portrayed seriously so many men don’t realize they’ve been assaulted. Which is why your comment is even grosser, this is a male rights sub and your comment is so belittling to a lot of male victims. But it can happen to any victim of any severe trauma, along with memo…

I think that’s a fair point, and I think due to the nature of rape and sexual assault the numbers are extremely hard to actually know. I don’t really fully trust any rape statistics, I think at most they give a ballpark number. However I am personally of the firm belief that rape and sexual assault statistics are vastly lower then the actual numbers due to how many people do not report or even acknowledge that they have been assaulted (especially with men due to the horrible social stigma and th…

Ah I see. I hadn’t realized the 1/4 was based on campus statistics and not criminal statistics. It seems the number is closer to 1/6, when you look at sources like RAINN. RAINN sources include mostly the department of justice (but other sources as well) so I imagine they are using the legal definition of rape and sexual assault for this statistic. However the same source says that approximately 26% of female undergraduate students have experienced “rape or sexual assault through physical force, …

Why do you put quotations around “assaulted”?

Same, for the record! And yeah that makes total sense and I agree. There really are just differences and I think our laws should be more nuanced to reflect that. And yeah I’ve noticed that too. I’m glad to see that people are seeing the sexual factor in it, because it’s just not the same thing as being hit in a non sexual area, it’s got so much more to it.

Yes, I get that. I agree that they aren’t as comparable as my initial comments said and I don’t disagree that I was wrong in comparing them originally. my last comment did basically say that it’s not emotionally comparable and that its far less common and feasible. So totally agree! And sorry, I did change the language in that last paragraph because I realized it didn’t really fit. But not fast enough lol I know you weren’t claiming that it should make it sexual assault and were just sharing the…

I didn’t claim they were the same level of pain (I even said o knew they weren’t), or the same emotional implications or that that level of trauma from being hit in the ovaries is common. However it is for sure possible for ovaries to be damaged by blunt force trauma or even rupture although it is extremely rare and usually involves pre existing conditions. I was really only saying I thought they were comparable, in the sense that a woman can still sustain damage despite being internal. I see wh…

Personally I think changing the definitions of sexual battery to include violence committed against genitals or sex organs or making a new offense that includes it would make more sense then to change the definition of sexual assault. As far as the organs being external I guess I don’t see why that matters as punching a woman in her overies from the outside can also cause permanent damage to sexual organs. You can damage a woman’s sex organs by punching them. I guess I just don’t understand why …

I guess I’m confused because from what I looked up a women being kicked in the vagina or punched in the breast wasn’t a sexual assault. Unless you found something I didn’t, in which case please share it with me because I’d like to be informed. If being punched in the breast or vaginal /ovarie area alone counts as sexual assault, then yeah I agree being kicked in the testicles is no different. I didn’t think it did, hence my stance.

So you’re treating women like equals? You taught your niece to be an independent person by teaching her life skills so she doesn’t need to rely on men (or others in general) to feel component? And that’s a ….. bad…. Thing? You want women to expect men to pay for everything?

Firstly, your comparison doesn’t make any sense at all. How is that what I’m saying? I’m not asking anyone to change their own gender role or saying men shouldn’t fit their gender role. I’m saying men shouldn’t have to fit their gender role. I’m saying people should be allowed to choose their role. Nothing you said related to that point at all.

Firstly, don’t disagree with the sentiment. Have always been disturb that the media etc uses male pain and physical violence against men for comic relief. But the sexual in sexual assault doesn’t just mean “involving sex organs”, most definitions of sexual assault include the language that the act is sexual in nature. Not all, there are always exceptions of course, but a lot of cases of people being kicked in the balls are not for sexual gratification and it is not considered a sex act so it doe…

Gender roles are sexist. For men too. Gender roles are why courts give more rights to mothers, because mothers are the nurturers and men are just providers. Gender roles are also why men are expected to pay for everything and a huge contributing factor to the gold digger mindset. Because men are expected to provide. Mens rights should include the right for men to chose any role they want for themselves without society putting them down. Men should also be allowed to be stay at home dads if they …

I don’t understand how people don’t see that gender roles actively hurt woman And men. Gender roles are why men are seen as weak for feeling emotions, and why men don’t always receive equal rights in regards to their children. This sub is about mens rights, and some of these people advocate for a system that puts men into narrow roles that many men don’t want to follow. Men should be allowed to be stay at home dads, or to not be a provider if they don’t want to. I don’t understand how the same p…

They were supposed to die for their friend? It would have been incredibly dangerous for someone to try and pull him off the tracks when a trains coming. How do we know they didn't tell him or beg him not to? In fact, most of the articles describe the other kids as being in extreme shock, screaming his name at the tracks after it happened. The 50 people included adults, adults were there. It wasn't like he laid down on the tracks for 10 minutes well everyone twiddled their thumbs, it sounds like …

Well they must have changed their comments since I posted mine, or more were posted. When I commented, there were quite a few comments saying it was fast. Either way, I've read the articles and I think its debatable if they had time to actually do anything. They did have time to react, as in a few articles say some of the kids held the other kids away from the track, but that doesn't mean they could have done anything to help the situation.

What were they supposed to do to help, in that moment? Its a horrible tragedy, but it wasn't the people who didn't die trying to get him off the tracks fault. Its the bully's fault, and the fault of an attitude in our society to brush off bullying until it's too late, especially with boys.

What were they supposed to do? Jump in front of the train to try and pull him away? From the other comments here it sounds like it all happened very quickly.

I can't remember specifics as its been like 6 months since I've used it. But I think it should be more then a sentence, but not super long either because then I stop reading. So like a medium-sized paragraph or two small paragraphs. Just stuff about you or what specifically you are looking for on tinder. And writing that reflects your personality if that makes sense, not something that sounds like a college essay.

Yeah sure. I don't mind shirtless pics but I don't need them. If they are there, I prefer them be like beach pics. Just shirtless mirror pics look douchey to me. And not only shirtless pics. Just decent looking pics of a guy. Like good angles, well taken normal pictures. If you're into fishing, pics of you fishing. If you're into guitar or playing music, you playing music ect. Its mostly for me about a nice picture (assuming I find him attractive) and a charming bio. Something funny or down to e…

Yeah I prefer it. Having all the group pics seems forced to me, and especially if it's for a hookup and not dating I don't care what his social life is. I'd prefer pics of a guy doing what he likes or his interests to pics with friends. Those doesn't say anything about the person really.

You can remember what someone looks like and still not catch them? I mean its the same way that people can be mugged or witness a crime and have a sketch artist sketch it out and the person isn't caught. They have criminals with actual images of them and no one identifies them, like the Delphi murders. Not to mention where are you getting "half a dozen" from it could be two or three. Then what are you saying, it sounds like you're saying there is no way this woman who no one knows who she is or what she looks like couldn't have been raped because?? All woman are ugly or you assume she must be ugly for no reason?

I am a pretty small woman in America myself (4'11", 100 pounds) and I have never had this problem. I don't know where you shop, but I've never noticed clothing stores to cater to larger woman. In fact it seems to be almost exclusively that they cater to small, flatter chested woman.

I was raped actually. And one of the first questions was what I was wearing. It was not taken very seriously because he was my friend. And many people in my life assumed I made it up because woman make that stuff up all the time. Even my boyfriend judged me because I didn't try my hardest to fight him off. I think we are both misunderstanding each others points here. The reason i thought you were saying woman have it easy is because when i said they don't you dissagreed with me. I'm sorry for pu…

I stand corrected on the over treated thing. I am not saying it is anyones job to make sure woman's (or mens) lives are free of all suffering. I am just saying I think it is wrong to say all woman have it easy. Just because they arnt being discriminated against doesn't mean they magically have issue free easy lives. Don't get me wrong, I'm 100% for men's rights and agree with a lot on this sub. But I don't think it is fair to act like womans lives are easy breezy just because they are woman. You…

There is no such thing as over treated. Just because men lack resources doesn't mean those things arnt hard on woman. Being raped is very traumatizing even with a million resources. Same with abuse or mental illness. Its unfair to minimize woman's issues the same way feminists minimize mens.

Not to mention woman face some of those same problems men do; domestic abuse, rape ect. Ause and rape are traumatizing and can be life altering for woman just as much as men.

I agree with being split. In the end i guess my thinking is that being sexual active or promiscuous does not mean you can't be raped, or that its ok to be raped.

That makes more sense. It was simple misinterpretation. Because you went on to talk about people going from "no" to "yes" in a later paragraph I had thought that the previous statement was about going from "yes" to "no". Obviously I was wrong. I'm sorry if it came off as dishonest questioning or hostile, I was simply asking for clarification.

Negotiation of sex is always going to be a thing, denying this is fucking stupid. Acting like changing your mind, in the opposite direction, is "rape" is foolish. And dangerous. This is where I got the indication. I asked for the purpose of clarity, and to prevent me from misinterpreting your meaning. I'm not doubting your character or trying to attack you. I don't see the basis for you assuming I asked for the purpose of making you explain your character to avoid arguing a point that I "can't d…

I don't completely disagree for the most part, but are you saying that if things are sexual and one person asks the other to stop, and they don't, it isn't rape?

I'm not very familiar (not really familiar at all) with the case, but is it possible the rape did happen and she withdrew because she cared about him?

Correct me if I'm wrong but I've always been of the impression prostate cancer was one of the "better" cancers to get. When my dad got it they considered not even treating him because he would probably die of natural causes before it even affected him

I really don't know much about this, but I am a girl and I've been taking Ritalin since I was in third grade, for only fairly mild ADD. But I'm not really sure what the case is for most people.
