I'm not convinced enough of your intellectual honesty Ironic that this is used as an intellectually dishonest excuse to avoid validating your claim.

feminism is about special treatment for women, which is why it is feminism rather than women's rights. Proof? This is patently untrue.

By that reasoning it would be the responsibility of your movement to prove it isn't misogynist (the purpose of AMR is to prove that it is, after all). That doesn't make any sense.

are you seriously asking me to find a particular post that is against men's rights in r/againstmensrights? Yes. Not a post that is against /r/MR or the Men's Rights Movement but actually against men's rights. MRAs like to say that feminism != women's rights. If you accept that, you have to accept that the MRM != men's rights, or you are a hypocrite.

My name what? You evaluate the contents of posts not based on their content but the name of the user they're posted by?

As you're probably aware, then, the burden of proof lies on the person who makes the assertion. Can you point to any post on the subreddit that shows that it is actually against men's rights in general?

Seriously? Go check the sidebar there and tell me it doesn't say that. My point is that all I stated is that their sidebar states that. That is a fact.

Clearly what? My post stated a fact that can easily be checked my visiting the link posted by OP. I was unaware that plainly factual information was subject to derision and downvoting here, but I'm really not surprised.

Not true at all. At least three redditors, Aerik, StephenMurphy and FEMAcampcounselor actively post and even more comment.

As is quite clear on the side bar, it is against the men's rights movement and mister, not men's rights.

People here always say feminism != women's rights (so being anti-feminist wouldn't mean being against men's rights). So wouldn't it follow that /r/mensrights != men's rights?

Nowadays the housework is split. And yet women still tend to do more of it and still aren't compensated. How about that?

There is no "vs." Regarding sexes, what is there besides "male" and "female"? Intersex.

There is no misconception. His admission was precisely the source of disagreement. I was wrong to say that men were the only place they could get reality. This is exactly what I've been saying.

Yes, and he said then that wasn't what he meant In what way? The first part: And the one place they could have got their reality is exactly as you claim. If it was the same as the second part, there would have been no reason to add it: the place they're supposed to get it that is a completely different statement. If I say of men that "The one place they could have got their empathy, the place they're supposed to get it - from the women in their lives, their mothers and wives and sisters and girl…

Don't the vast majority of men already have healthy, productive outlooks on sex, rape and violence, with only a very few exceptions? I think you could say that, in many cases, they have personally healthy outlooks (in that they wouldn't rape), but that the attitudes that they hold as a whole can still encourage rape. What is to one guy innocent banter and joking about women might be what throws that rapist over the edge. And is being wary of all men because of the actions of that tiny minority a…

These are different. No they aren't. "the place they're supposed to get it - the men in their lives, their dads and husbands and brothers and boyfriends" is the same as "are supposed to get reality is from men." The place specifies "The ONE place." The men in their lives by definition means from men and not from women. The poster has even stated that that is what they were saying. I don't see how you can claim that women (or anyone) should not be able to obtain their reality from people in their…

However, the very prevalent habit of portraying men as untrustworthy, unreliable, emotionally incompetent and laughable has robbed a great many women of what could be a hugely valuable source of support, compassion and criticism. I'm not going to argue that portraying men in general in this way is entirely fair. But I think you have to consider that in some cases there is simply no control, nor should their be. Each person is entitled to their own feelings and opinions; you can't force them to f…

he said the one place that isn't controlled by propaganda is the target of said propaganda, so it's a Catch-22 No he didn't, he specified that men are: the place they're supposed to get it Not "the only place they can get it," the place they're supposed to get it. And only a fucking retard would say it's transphobic to notice that women have children. A trans man who still has "female" genitalia can still have a child. Fuck you, that's the straw man again. No one said that. You're a piece of shi…

It's a inference not a literal meaning. Can you demonstrate how it's an inference and not a literal meaning? the place they're supposed to get it - the men in their lives, their dads and husbands and brothers and boyfriends - is the place they've been told most of all is totally untrustworthy, fake and even dangerous.

Nice try, troll. Your straw man has been seen. Don't be shy, then. Point out exactly what the "strawman" is. Next, you're going to say that I'm sexist because I say that only women can have babies. Transphobic element aside, I wouldn't disagree with the basic concept, no more than I would disagree that only testicles can produce sperm. But we're not talking about biological systems, are we? We're talking about a statement that men somehow have a monopoly on understanding reality. Your example is…

I think it's a great deal more sexist to imagine that men are of no use in this respect. That right there is what you MRAs would quickly point out to be a red herring. The issue at hand is why you think that women are supposed to get their reality from the men in their lives.
/r/MensRights26/09/12 10:37 AM

It's literally a direct quote from their post. What planet are you living on that exactly what they said means something different than exactly what it says?

Hugo Schwyzer is now, and has always been, as much as a feminist as a pizza is a flying saucer. If you throw it in the wind, it may look like it for a while, but eventually it's gonna fall down and all you'll have is a crappy pizza.

So, what's the action plan? a) Go try to advocate for legislation; or, b) complain about feminists

Ah... the MRA way. Question is about female abortion, and female abortion only; brings up unrelated stuff. Like all the feminist subreddits. "Hey, what do you think about helping women wi..." "MEN! MEN'S RIGHTS!" Oh, and before someone is saying that I do reply to MRAs (contrary to the username), I don't.

No. Talk all you want about "financial abortions," but men should have no choice in an actual abortion (her body).
