I agree. If a mom was showing her son how to change the oil in his car, would we say “Good job mom! Wow!” rather than “Why would she get praise when any dad could do it and not be praised?” Honestly I think any sort of good above and beyond parenting is awesome and should be praised. As a girl I grew up with short hair so my girls had to figure it out, I didn’t go to take classes to give them awesome hairstyles. Also. I wasn't asked if I wanted my boy circumcised. If anything the only thing I saw or heard about it in the hospital was that circumcision was a charge to the parents (Canadian here, healthcare wouldn't cover it). So civilized eh?
