Well I know what you are referring to, my two older brother are caught up in that right now, the youngest of the two has two children already, and has spend half of his life since he was 18 in prison and jail the other is the same story. The deal my father made was with my mother an no one else, that if he signed away his parental rights, my mother would not pursue his child support money he owed, that's what I was referring to.

And yes you can sign away your parental rights, and the clock does run out on your parental rights if you are not in the child's life. (Try not to sound so douchy)

that being said I was just stating a point, not saying it would affect his "obligation to pay child support" I was just speaking from experience...

With my father, when he signed away his parental rights, all of his "obligation to pay child support" went with it, so by properly quoting your statement,(because its something you said) I'm telling you after that time is up according to the government I don't believe they consider him the father.

In theory according to the US government after like 6 months of you not being in a child's life actively in a parental role, you forfeit your parental rights, so talk to a lawyer for sure, hope you're ok!

You can kill a man, but you can't kill an idea.
