Mr. and Mrs. Smith was an original. And it was a pretty good original too. Jolie plays a lot of strong characters. Even as much as T&A was a factor in the Tomb Raider movies she still played it straight and with gravitas. The premises might have been a bit thin due to the video game origins and need to tie-in to video game elements, but it could have been a lot worse.

I won't watch them after the first. It was marketed as explaining Kirk and Spock's early years when in-fact it was a reboot. I was extremely disappointed.

That's the one. McCarthy going on about size and strength was simply stupid. If a weakling, weighing ninety-eight pounds, starts a fight with an average-sized man, he is going to get hit-back. Doesn't matter that he was weak, he was the aggressor, he's at least partially responsible for what happens to himself when he gets sand in his face when kicked to the ground.

What really blew my mind is that the other panelists were all adult women saying this. It wasn't like a bunch of kids or adolescents. A good rule is don't hit people unless you're prepared to be hit back a lot harder. Gender is irrelevant. Hell, if a man as the aggressor punches a woman and the woman manages to get ahold of a bat or board or pipe during the altercation, not going to have a lot of sympathy for the guy either.

Whoopi Goldberg was on one of those women's daytime roundtable shows and she basically said the same thing. All of the other women got very upset with her for saying it. Goldberg's position was very straightforward. They have a right to defend themselves too. If you hit them they are free to hit you back, and they're probably going to hit a lot harder and are going to really hurt you. It was amazing how much negativity she got from everyone.
