That was a fucking brilliant read man. Some great insight into this poisonous behaviour. Sorry to hear that you got messed around so badly and for so long. The one silver living that I'm taking away from all this is that I was at least aware enough to start listening to my gut pretty early on. Naturally I ignored the first few red flags because I caught feelings and shit. But when your gut is literally eating itself with worry that somethings not quite right there's only so long you can ignore i…

Thanks for the kind words bro. Jesus 10 years...I don't know how you made it out in one piece man but well done. I noticed a lot of BPD stories on MGTOW feature relationships that lasted years. All in all, my story from beginning to end was less than 6 months. Do you think this is still a sufficient amount of time to make an educated guess as to what was happening, or am I jumping the gun thinking this is classic BPD?

Thank you my man. I really needed to hear something along these lines. I've been trying to remind myself that I was the prize in this story. She was just too wrapped up in her own bullshit to see it. Of the two of us I had way less baggage and what little bit I did have, I tried to shield her from it for the sake of building a good relationship. The fact that she had no such desire is really upsetting, and now knowing that she's with this socially awkward bloke has left me with so many questions…

I hate to say it bro, but you are right to be concerned about this not working out. I went through something similar not too long ago. Had just gotten out of a LTR and got some interest from an attractive single mom who had just recently become single herself. After a couple of months of a nice slow build we finally got together, but then things changed almost overnight. The real her started to unfold littly by little and I noticed I was starting to become more of an emotional tampon than anythi…

Couldn't agree more with your point. And get this... All the while this was going on there was another guy who she was keeping in her orbit, who she would swear up and down she was not interested in (even though I never asked)! She just volunteered this information to me, but she also never once made an attempt to shut him down. She just let him carry on making nice gestures for her all the while telling me about the latest thing he did that made her uncomfortable. Anyways as the weeks passed, h…

Why are you still with her?

You mean how did she react to me getting out of dodge? She initiated contact a few more times afterwards but I think got the hint when I wasn't engaging in conversation. She dropped it shortly after and then moved on to one of the other blokes that she kept in her orbit. Says it all really.

You're dropping some serious wisdom here man. Can't upvote this enough. If we as decent people could never picture ourselves mistreating others in that way, its easy to project our own rational thoughts onto others, particularly women who've caught our interest. It's like we tell ourselves "But I'm a decent guy and I'm smart too... so there's NO WAY in hell I'd be stupid enough to even dream of entertaining someone who could treat people poorly, and I like this girl, so therefore there is simply…

Couldn't agree with this more. You hit the nail on the head.

Funny you should say that. There were definite cases where she exhibited signs of going back and forth between idealization and devaluation. The examples in my post barely scratch the surface. Made it impossible to keep up with her and I still to this day don't know what her true feelings for me were. And since I couldn't foresee or control how she was going to behave from one moment to the next, the only thing I could control was how I would deal with it... and so I made the choice to get the h…

That is borderline sadism!! Women like that aren't worth the effort. The way I like to look at it is this - The first few weeks with a woman are supposed to be the exciting, fun period before any drama sets in. If a girl is already causing you distress in those early days then shit is not gonna improve from there. If that's the way they are during the quote-unquote honeymoon period, then just imagine what we'd be facing after that shit wears off.

Don't be afraid to tell them everything. Even the shit that embarrasses you about yourself. They're not there to judge, but to try and point you in the right direction. Best of luck with it bro. Hope you get somethong out of it.

That was an incredible read. Explains it all perfectly. No wasted energy and every piece of info helped to hammer the point home that much more. I saw so much of those things in this girl. From saying certain things just to guage my response, to telling me how much she wanted me one moment only to say she's not ready for a relationship 10 minutes later. Even mentioning the way she dealt with other beta orbiters (oh yeah, there were others) to try and make me feel like I was different from them o…

Can't disagree with that! But in my defence, I'm still learning to adapt to the MGTOW approach to life, so some old habits will die hard at first. Being polite is probably the big one... I wouldn't exactly say I'm kidding myself. I'm very well aware of what this girl wants from me now, and the fact that I was being played, whether deliberately or otherwise. And she knows that I'm aware. That's gotta be a good start, right?

You can kill a man, but you can't kill an idea.
