In the midst of divorce myself - the biggest thing that helped me is she had a good job that paid well. Make her get a job once all the kids are in school with a decent amount of income so you don't get divorce raped. 2 or 3 years before you think it's time to pull the plug on the marriage reduce your income so you will have to pay less in a divorce.
