At least for me college was less about learning and more about learning what I wanted to learn. I studied comp sci and blew past everyone else since I was interested and taught myself, but college exposed me to things that I might not have found on my own

What I'm trying to say is you go try out to be in the military and if you pass, you're in. Football teams are exclusive, you are hand picked to be in a finite group of people to compete. A football team with women on it would lose because none of them are "the best", but in the military you don't have to be.

Taking on women and lowering standards are two different conversations. I'm talking about taking on women. If there aren't enough women to meet the standards we have, that's another issue. Women don't peak as high as men which is why they can't compete in the NFL with the best of the best. Some women can pass the tests that men do in the military, so it's not an accurate analogy. The military isn't the best of the best, it's the ones who can pass.

Also keep in mind this is the draft, not military service. In all likelihood we will never even use the draft again because we don't wage war they way we used to, so I don't think it will really make a difference either way. For equality sake though, yes they should have to register.

I don't understand what they were arrested for to begin with. They didn't formally accuse anyone of sexual harassment, they confronted the guy directly and realized it wasn't him and apologized. That's not illegal (well at least not in the US), neither is swearing at police (again in US, I'm not sure about DR law). Either their laws are fucked up or they were corrupt and trying to extort money.
