Just ended a reallllly long relationship where he never did anything for Valentine’s Day. I was admittedly a ‘cool girl’ who said it was a stupid day, but felt hurt every year when he never did anything (and didn’t do much the other 364 days of the year either). MANY lessons learned. Been here. Left my substance abusing ex (shitty childhood, etc, etc) about 6 weeks ago, on vacation right now for the first time in several years (yay having money and not supporting him anymore!), and already planning more trips later this year. So glad I’m putting me first!
