I specifically said “very young women and girls”. Perhaps you missed the comments here (in PPD) arguing that because the legal age of consent in some places is 12 or 13 or 16 makes it ok.

I'm going to go out on a limb here and (as a woman - even if older than dirt - who never embraced the "casual sex" thing) say that most women who do not participate in casual sex, are not really interested in relationships with men who DO participate in casual sex because our attitudes about sex and intimacy are not well aligned so I would imagine that the transition to "slut shaming" that you describe is fairly rare.

I think the zealots in both arenas are desperately seeking a place to belong and a community to feel a part of. If that community helps them to shift blame for their dissatisfaction to “others”, so much the better. The core components of both seem to be cranky white men who are pissed that their default “King of the jungle” status is dissipating and society is becoming closer to a color/gender blind meritocracy. Too bad, so sad. Y’all had a good run🤷‍♀️

Based on the endless commentary from men here, there are almost zero women who some men would reject a sexual advance from so...essentially when the Venn diagram of "all women" and "women you would accept a NSA blowjob from" is a near perfect circle, it indicates a certain indiscriminacy, no?

Choosing to be a sex worker as a profession is different IMO from an indiscriminate pursuit of a living "outlet" for selfish sexual friction.

People can be selective and still have a number of lovers over the years. People whose only criteria for selection is that the other person not say no are a bit different.

Great. Another excuse for people to not leave their houses and learn how to negotiate personal interactions and build relationships IRL. What could possibly go wrong? After all it’s worked so well for young people so far🙄

Would you respect a woman who would fuck almost anything? Would you not feel a bit of contempt for someone who valued themselves and their body so cheaply? Same thing 🤷‍♀️

I feel nothing but perhaps a soupçon of mild contempt. Some men will literally fuck warm fruit. Their thirst and lack of standards is not worthy of a response.

Women prefer men who are taller than they are. Average woman = 5’4”. Average man = 5’9 1/2”. So a baseline difference of 5 1/2” is just standard. Some women definitely prefer a larger than average difference, some don’t. Arbitrary extreme preferences are far more common in young people who aren’t necessarily prioritizing enduring adult relationship skills and “forever” compatibility (nor do they need to because they’re not necessarily looking for a “forever” relationship at the moment). Personal…

I am very familiar with ASD. Some factors that may be at play are: Stimming, even if it is so subtle as to be almost unnoticeable may cause undefinable feelings of unease in others. Lack of eye contact. Not recognizing neurotypical personal space boundaries. Verbal scripting (again, even if subtle). Either flat or exaggerated affect as compared to neurotypical. Awkward gait or hand / facial movements (often due to focus on inner world as opposed to shared world). These and other possible tweaks …

That part of the article was referring only to young women participating in hook-up culture. Is it a big surprising "gotcha"? It specifically says that these preferences are not applicable to anything else so once again it sounds like you are using the word "dating" to only mean causal sex.

I think often the point that is confused is that some men feel that because they rank themselves as above average in looks, they should be getting lots of casual sex with "their looksmatch". They seem not to understand that if you're an asshat, your looks don't matter, you're still unfuckable to all but the most troubled women. The corollary to that is that a man who is not above average in looks, is short or chubby or similar can sometimes overcome that through personality, charisma, humor etc.…

If a person is not having success at finding what they want with people who meet their standards, they have a few choices: Keep looking. You may or may not find success, but no one said that you can't try. Try to improve yourself until you meet the standards of the people you want. You may or may not find success, but no one said that you can't try. Lower your standards until you're successful finding what you want, even if it is not with who you originally wanted. According to a fair amount of research, the key drivers for the decrease in sexual activity in young adults in general and men specifically are: the decline in youthful marriage (biggest driver by far), living at home with parents, video games and freely available porn and fewer alcohol related activities. So again, you said that women are the ones who " live more in a world of how they think things should be vs what actually exists in reality.". Women are fine with the current reality. Men apparently, are not since they are frustrated and want the women to change the world to how they think things should be (aka easy access to casual sex with their choice of women).

So you think a woman on Tinder is less likely to get pumped and dumped by a less attractive guy who is on Tinder looking for quick sex?🤣 Possible I guess, but so far as I know, character quality is not directly inversely correlated to attractiveness... You still have not provided an answer for this: In the absence of any other criteria, why would women not choose the most attractive option? What would be the point for women in NOT doing that? In the absence of any other criteria, why would women not choose the most attractive option? What would be the point for women in NOT doing that? Some men swipe a lot of women because they desperately want to get laid, don't need to find the woman as attractive to want to fuck her and think their odds of actually getting laid may be better with a less attractive woman. Each woman get to decide who she feels is attractive, just as each man does. People choose to interact with those that they (as an individual) feel are attractive. No one else's opinion or "rating" of themselves or others will change those fundamental facts. Attraction, for many women, starts with individually determined baseline physical appearance. No one else gets to decide what that threshold is or should be. If that threshold is not met, there is no chance of attraction or engagement. If th…

I do not and have never engaged in casual sex because it is not my preference. That said, my right to do so should I choose to is a hill I will fight and die on. I do work at a high level in a male dominated industry and am eternally grateful to the generations of women who helped to make that possible. In it's purest form, women's liberation is about choice. The article you linked is specific to (speculation re/the rate for) children born outside of marriage. I agree that paternity fraud is horrible but it’s disingenuous to imply that those numbers (even if true) are also true of children born to married parents.

That has only worked when women were dependent on men for subsistence. That ship has sailed. The times they are a changing. Men need to adapt or accept that their individual genetic journey is over. Must be difficult for some to swallow the fact that women in many places can no longer be coerced into a lifetime of misery just to survive. We get to be active participants in the decisions that shape our lives and fertility. Deal with it!

Then there’s really no problem. It doesn’t matter if “individual men” aren’t getting sex. The population is not collapsing. It is expanding and that expansion is projected to continue. World population projected to reach 9.8 billion in 2050, and 11.2 billion in 2100. The current world population of 7.6 billion is expected to reach 8.6 billion in 2030, 9.8 billion in 2050 and 11.2 billion in 2100, according to a new United Nations report being launched today.

According to Darwin’s Origin of Species, it is not the most intellectual of the species that survives; it is not the strongest that survives; but the species that survives is the one that is able best to adapt and adjust to the changing environment in which it finds itself. Men who want to be sexually successful and pass on their genes need to adapt to the changing world, not try to roll back the changes to accommodate their inability to adapt.

Ok, I think I understand the disconnect here. OP, at least here is the US (with the exception of some fundamentalist religious groups), surprise “out of the blue” marriage proposals don’t really happen. If a couple is in a serious, long term relationship, they will discuss (often many times as the relationship and parties mature) marriage, family goals etc. if both parties are interested and ready for that step, a formal “Will you marry me?” proposal may occur. /r/PurplePillDebate18/08/22 02:48 PM

So, just to make sure that I understand...you want sex from a woman AND don't care about her comfort level because you shouldn't suppress your sexual appetite? Interesting, kind of does not bode well for the sex being a great experience for her does it when you appetite trumps her comfort?
/r/PurplePillDebate18/08/22 02:47 PM

Women are entitled to determine their own needs regarding sex and relationships without the input of random men. The only men who have any right to input are those specific men that specific women choose to seek for sex and relationships. Random men are not "expected" to marry anyone regardless of their sexual lack of experience. Go outside and meet real people.

All of this may well be true, but I think there may be a much simpler explanation as well. When insecure / scared / hurt people get a tiny bit of perceived leverage or power, some of them will turn into bullies in a misguided effort to feel big and powerful and safe. In some women, this comes out as described above. I would imagine that behind every loud, preening TikTok QUEEN, there is a woman / girl who is trying very hard to feel big and tough but probably really doesn't if you peel back enou…

Ok🤷‍♀️. If they were that attracted to you and your personalities mesh, you wouldn’t be having these difficulties. So, something is off. It’s either looks or personality/interaction style.

I have no idea who you’re trying to attract. I do know that you’ve repeatedly commented that your very physically attractive and I’m telling you that I just don’t see it. I’m very familiar with BPD and the challenges that it brings to those who live with it. You have my sympathy. That said, it may not show immediately as BPD to those unfamiliar with it, but it does show up as being a little or a lot off kilter.
/r/PurplePillDebate12/08/22 01:21 AM

I saw your pic in your post history. Very niche appeal. The further one is from traditional beauty standards the harder it will be. In addition, contrary to what you seem to believe, looks are just one ingredient. Not determinative of attraction in and of themselves.
/r/PurplePillDebate12/08/22 01:19 AM

That doesn’t make you a bad person but it definitely makes you a more challenging person to be involved with. 🤷‍♀️
/r/PurplePillDebate12/08/22 01:17 AM

While looks are highly subjective, there is some chance that outside of a very narrow niche, you may be overestimating your attractiveness quotient. That combined with what you described as severe BPD and your repeated posted difficulties in soliciting female interest without being labeled as creepy, I think that there’s a possibility that at least some of the women aren’t “playing hard to get”…

If a cheating man gets an affair partner or ONS pregnant, he is effectively siphoning off support from his wife and other children for 18 years at a minimum. In addition, he is tearing apart his own family and forcing his children to be siblings with the result of his wandering dick for their entire lives. It’s only “over” for those who cling to what they think they need and ignore what will actually bring them happiness. Some here can scoff and deride “settling”, but letting go of shallow theoretical “requirements” in the face of concrete real life qualities is an important part of maturing and learning about yourself and real life and true happiness. Those who never reach that point are destined for failure sooner or later.

Not true… “Did you know men show signs of aging sooner than a woman? This is because men have strong muscles located around the forehead and glabella area, where fine lines appear. Although most men don’t speak to friends or family about their appearance, they definitely focus on signs of aging every time they look in the mirror. According to the American Society of Plastic Surgeons, more than 400,000 men in the United States receive botox or other injectables to enhance their appearance. “

For all of those who chose “B”, what happens when they are 45, or 50 or 60 or 70 or get cancer or go bald or have loose belly skin from bearing your children or get ED or any of a thousand perfectly normal things that mitigate “hotness”? What’s left to sustain the marriage?

Ok, trying a new method here: OP, we don’t know anything about you. What about you is a positive and would be attractive to a woman? Are you smart? Hard working and either accomplished or on your way? Are you kind or funny or amazing with kids or animals? Do you have any interesting hobbies or intellectual pursuits? Do you volunteer your time to those less fortunate? Are you a whiz at Scrabble or Wordle? Are you an amazing baker or gardener or handy with tools or cars? What is special about YOU?…

Boys and girls are both children. Sex with children is rape. Rape is always wrong. The end. Age gap relationships between adults can be manipulative and exploitative OR loving positive experiences depending on the individuals involved. Child rape is not an “age-gap relationship”, it’s not a relationship at all, it’s a crime and a betrayal of human decency.

Experience helps women to spot the bad apples, unfortunately experience also helps the truly bad apples to be better at hiding it in the beginning. The fatality rate for varicella was approximately 1 per 100,000 cases among children age 1 through 14 years, 6 per 100,000 cases among persons age 15 through 19 years, and 21 per 100,000 cases among adults. That’s not a huge number but it’s certainly a big deal for some and for their families 🤷‍♀️ In addition, if a pregnant woman gets chickenpox it can cause potentially deadly issues for the baby.

Hmmmm, how about hidden 24/7 surveillance to compare online and IRL behaviors and online vs actual appearance and lifestyle and attitudes. Then publicize the contrast far and wide (protecting individual identities). Saturate peoples every day life with the examples. See if that kind of transparency would: A). Improve online honesty B). Improve mental / emotional health by exposing the reality of the online fantasy world that makes so many people feel bad about themselves and their own lives.

It's not fair at all. Preferences are preferences and no one does anyone else a favor by ignoring a clear lack of attraction. It sounds like you behaved well by not wanting to hurt her feelings and your friends were wrong to shame you for your preference.

Dating apps are awful for everyone I think. The specific flavor of awful varies of course but basically…ughhhhh. In other words, it’s not just you. It’s not just men. It’s a truly terrible way to try to connect with people in any meaningful way. The last time I was on OLD was about 13 years ago (yup, I’m a geezerette) and it wasn’t quite as horrible but the current immediate gratification/ lack of basic manners behavior is just toxic for everyone.

Once the wage gap is closed, this makes more sense as presented. That said, I see no reason why the man should be expected to pay as dating is an individual pursuit and the gender wage gap is a societal issue. If the gentleman has a strong preference, I will allow him to pay for the first date (I offer to split of course). For subsequent dates, I prefer alternating as it's less awkward than splitting. However, if I know that there will not be a second date because I am just not interested (unles…

I think that part of the problem is that those signs of interest are usually signs of just that, interest, not intent or a green light to guaranteed fuckery. Interest can mean mild curiosity, openness to a conversation/introduction, appreciation without intention, etc. Unfortunately, there is a not-insignificant % of men who assume that “interest”, in and of itself, means DTF. It doesn’t. It should also be noted that simply not scowling and growling can be interpreted by some as a sign of intere…

That may well be true. Mens profiles in general (at least in my geriatric demographic) are really bad. Certainly many are not showing themselves off to advantage. I can’t speak to the younger folks.

I don’t swipe on the super-studs. If they reach out to me with an interesting message I will engage. I don’t understand why you seem to be so intent on getting a “gotcha” here. There really isn’t on to be had. Again, in my experience, the super good looking ones tend to be “players” (because they can?) not all, but many. I do not pursue them because that’s not what I’m looking for. If they pursue me, I will engage and if we are aligned in our interests and intentions I would certainly entertain …
/r/PurplePillDebate18/05/22 05:35 AM

Fair enough. I will date down in looks, as long as they meet the minimum threshold, before I compromise on other characteristics that I consider to be more important to a successful relationship. I guess that counts as dating “even” or potentially “up”, just by different metrics.
/r/PurplePillDebate18/05/22 05:26 AM

I guess they could and if they do reach out I entertain the conversation but thus far it hasn’t really resulted in a good fit🤷‍♀️

Again, I don’t date for casual sex etc. (not shaming those who do, just not my thing) so my priorities may be different.
/r/PurplePillDebate18/05/22 05:19 AM

IRL, probably about 40%. On OLD it’s definitely lower because their pictures are truly terrible so it’s impossible to tell. Seriously, if you haven’t made a fake woman’s profile, you really need to do it so that you see what we are dealing with.

/r/PurplePillDebate18/05/22 05:08 AM

But…do you really expect a woman (or man in the reverse) to entertain a relationship with someone who they can’t imagine kissing without getting grossed out? I don’t think that really counts as a shallow threshold.
/r/PurplePillDebate18/05/22 04:49 AM

If a woman can’t imagine being with you physically without being grossed out, your character is a nonissue. If she can, then character is the next hurdle.

/r/PurplePillDebate18/05/22 02:55 AM

Here’s the thing, as a woman, when looking for a partner (I don’t do casual sex/FWB/ons) there is definitely a baseline threshold for physical attraction that needs to be met. It’s not crazy high, but I need to be able to look at a man and imagine kissing him without any Ick. Once that threshold is met, other characteristics become determinative (personality, integrity, intelligence, ambition, basic temperament etc.). So yes, looks matter but…

Men who are below average (I.e/ below 5’9”, bmi over 26.6, income below $63,214 - and yes, those are the US averages) are going to struggle especially if they are targeting above average women (above 5’4”, below 176 lbs, bmi less than 26.5, income-y’all don’t care about income right?). No one (man or woman) is entitled to sex. No one (man or woman) is entitled to a relationship. It would seem that a lot more men than women *want* casual sex, so the roots of an imbalance are there even before one considers peoples individual standards / preferences. The fact that most seem likely to select for casual partners based on primarily looks (because not much else matters in that scenario), the imbalance is exacerbated. People (men and women) have the right not to be abused or harassed for refusing someone else's desire to have sex with them. The whole RP universe massively overestimates the % of women who are interested in "stranger" sex. Statistics show that of the 36% of women who have had a ONS (that does not mean that 36% regularly do, just that they have had at least one), only 17% of those actually enjoyed it. The difference you are referring to is that instead of being societally and financially compelled to choose "between men", women are able to choose between being with a man at all or not.

I think you are confusing possible interest with sex. Women, in general, have to be able to imagine that we could possibly have sex with a man before investing too much time. That is a threshold level of physical interest. It does NOT mean that she has decided to have sex with him, it just means that she is not UN-attracted to his physical appearance. If she is UN-attracted to him, she will not pursue, regardless of anything else. That is not negotiable and "investment" on either part would be a…

Your double negative is changing the question to be “ Why do most people think that people spreading red pill rhetoric are corrupt state actors”…. And the answer to your question as asked is that most people don’t think that because it’s silly.

And seriously, how many women have sex with that many men at the same time in the first place? Not that it doesn’t happen, but it’s definitely the exception, not the rule. The whole thing feels like a boys version of what he’s want to do if he was a hot girl with a soupçon of bitter misogynistic betrayal. 🤣
/r/PurplePillDebate26/03/22 02:09 AM

This sounds like an angry sexless adolescent’s fantasy of how “hot girls” live. There are a tiny minority of girls who may behave this way, but if it’s more than 1%, I’ll eat my chapeau. Seriously, get over the fantasy world of women’s sexuality that seems to be envisaged by celibate boys. That said, if I take you tall tale at face value, they gave it a fair, monogamous try (3 months) and were sexually incompatible. Breaking up was the right choice. 🤷‍♀️

Guys get annoyed or mad when they find out a woman they've been seeing is choosing to not have sex with them (despite different past behavior) because it implies the guy is not attractive enough to make her really want to sleep with him. So...he gets mad at her because he doesn't feel attractive? Regardless, there is not reason for getting annoyed or mad. Just like any fundamental mismatch in expectation, the parties (assuming they are adults) should be able to cordially and politely move on to …

I think it’s far more subjective than you think. Consider that men like both Kate Moss and Kim Kardashian. Women’s preferences are equally diverse so you might be able to develop a Venn diagram that is somewhat true to life, but anything more exact will not be materially accurate.

It’s important to note that “attraction” is composed of far more than physical appeal. Physical attributes are certainly a mandatory first step, but that alone is not enough to ensure attraction vs. passing attention.
/r/PurplePillDebate21/03/22 12:11 AM

Unless you are talking about hook up culture / ONS (which far fewer women are interested in than some of y'all seem to think), many women have a minimum threshold for physical factors in order to consider being interested, but after that threshold is met, personality makes or breaks it regardless of how much a given man may surpass that threshold.

It seems as if you are cherry picking data points to make it seem as though the stats say that men are equally sexually victimized by women. That is simply not true. If you compare the lifetime numbers, the picture is very different: Women raped: 21,840,000 Men made to penetrate: 5,451,000

You logic is flawed. By only interacting with women who approach you, you are actually ending up with fewer women than you would have as the initiator. There is a pool of women who could potentially be interested in you. Of that pool, there is a smaller subset that is willing to / interested enough to approach you. By all means do this if it makes things easier for you, but don’t imagine that you are leveling the playing field. You are just playing in the shallow end of the same pool.

I'm saying that we should all pursue full lives. Love is a wonderful part of that equation and an import part of overall happiness but it is not the ONLY thing that matters and brings joy. The single minded pursuit of sex is creating bitter angry men. That single mindedness and bitterness is, in large part, preventing them from finding what they are looking for in the first place. I am saying that getting out of a "me me me I want I want I want it's not fair!!!" mindset is vital for ones well be…

AUG., 31, 2021 — A new, first-ever report of its kind released today by the U.S. Census Bureau shows 15.2 million, nearly 1 in 6 (16.5%), adults age 55 and older are childless. Of all adults ages 55 to 64, 19.6% were childless, compared to 15.9% of those ages 65 to 74, and 10.9% of those 75 years and older.

But being a better person and realizing that there are other things in life than a desperate pursuit of a wet dick WILL help with women. Bitter, desperate, angry men give off a vibe that is instant lady boner killer., no matter how hard they try to fake confidence. I was advocating volunteering because giving to others is not only a worthwhile way to spend your time but as a side effect it often helps people to get out of their own head and gain some perspective. Is it 50M or 70M? Get your argument straight. Where did prostate cancer death come into the discussion of the legality of abortion? Are you asserting that men are ready, willing and able to care for, raise to adulthood and financially support those 50-70M babies? A little death math for you: There are roughly 73 million abortions per year The maternal mortality rate is at about 210 per 100,000 live births. Therefore we can reasonably assume that if abortion became unavailable globally, the annual # of maternal medical deaths would increase by at least 150,000 plus an unknown # of women who die from botched illegal abortions. In addition, the most common cause of death in pregnant women is murder. Pregnant women are more than twice as likely to be murdere…

The inherent fallacy in that is the idea that women “of a certain age” are still attracted to the same men that occupied their youth. Hint: they aren’t. In general, women’s attraction ages commensurately. We can admire a young man as we would a painting or sculpture but don’t feel attracted to those kids. Our real life passions are inflamed by more age appropriate men. It’s seriously not a competition.
