No. That modifier speaks to my own thoughts, not the collective thoughts of everyone else. I have to say I'm a little disappointed in the downvotes my first comment is getting. Seriously guys? I can't have a dissenting opinion?

Yeah, I'm personally convinced he is guilty and wish they had been able to prove it. That said, I won't decry the verdict given that it was a fair trial according to Canadian law.

Would it be worth it to have a brief talk with his sister about it? Hopefully by this point she's more mature and you can just have an honest conversation about how that affected you personally and professionally. Everyone benefits from that I think.

... Did you then watch the rest of the segment where he explains what he meant by that statement? If not you're kind of just taking a thesis out of context and assuming there was no proof to support the claim.

Neither am I. I'm there now and this is VERY much a womans/queer campus. The white straight male has no place trying to voice an opinion here. Our student 'government' will just slander you and shout you down. It's like Tumblr stepped out of the internet. Some of this is hyperbole, I admit. I just dislike this place for it's social positions.

Can we just assume that this was a young freshman who doesn't actually know anything?

To me, inserting this into the discussion cheapens the debate. I agree that it's an idiotic notion. But posting that opens the thread up to further mocking as opposed to discussion on the Nicole Ryan case that is at hand. Note: I don't hate your post. I just think it should be in a different thread.

I get the circlejerk thing, but this really isn't constructive to the debate.

... You know, seeing such a nice welcome to the group is just made hilarious by your username. My prof demands an explanation for why I'm laughing in class. I'll need a written apology by friday.

The top two, I honestly don't have a problem with. There's should probably be a female version of those two. They both address important issues of consent. The bottom two? Fuck off. Those are just insulting. I've never felt that a woman OWED me anything if I pay for a meal or something. And the bottom left is just... infuriating.

I have but one upvote to give. Disagree with him all you want but he's right when he says that this is a strawman argument.

I know. I try and stay away from the center of most fandoms because that is where shit like this thrives. I don't know what it was about this one but it just... angered me.

I don't think that's bestof material either. I agree with you on that.

I think the OP meant that he posted a Men's Rights link to r/bestof and this was the ensuing comment thread.

You can kill a man, but you can't kill an idea.
