What kind of allure do you think having a "hot guy bod" has on you or other women? Since it clearly seems to help. If it doesn't get you hot and bothered, what else about it makes it so appealing?"

Could you share an example of a display of emotional maturity you found hot/sexually attractive? And if the 5 years old younger was somehow able to show the same thing would they also be attractive to you
/r/PurplePillDebate03/03/24 11:14 PM

Does emotional maturity enhance what you find sexually attractive, or is it inherently sexually attractive as a trait on its own?
/r/PurplePillDebate03/03/24 10:46 PM

I still think this doesn't fully explain it. If you were to ask a 50-year-old woman who she finds more attractive—a 38-year-old man or a 62-year-old man—I guarantee she'd say, 'The 38-year-old feels like a kid to me.' There's something about a man being younger than the woman that diminishes attraction points in her eyes, regardless of their readiness for marriage or a long-term relationship.

I see so if he was not interested in you, but he was still funny, charming etc I assume you would not be aroused by him? Like can his personality on its own, with no indication of being interested in you, arouse you? Similar to how men could be attracted to a woman's body even if she does not know him or show any interest in him yet
/r/PurplePillDebate18/10/22 05:33 PM

So in terms of the "just for fun" part. If it's not about wanting to experience the variety/novelty, then what is it about new people that makes it fun? Like clearly there is some appeal in a new partner since you've had many, right? "the exciting part was being pursued and wanted and sparking chemistry" hmm so is it fair to say, that being pursued by new people is exciting/arousing? Like getting to experience a new chemistry?

I see, so them making you laugh etc could potentially be seen the same way as when a guy gets attracted to a women’s body sexually? Also, would you say their desire for you is a big component of your attraction to them? Like if they made you laugh but it’s clear they didn’t try to pursue you for a ONS or relationship would their jokes, or making you comfortable like you mentioned still arouse you sexually in the same way?
/r/PurplePillDebate18/10/22 05:05 PM
1

In the ONS situation you mentioned. What is it about the interaction that arouses you while talking?
/r/PurplePillDebate18/10/22 04:51 PM
2

This is a related question. I noticed you mentioned earlier than you’ve had many partners. And also you’ve mentioned that men’s bodies alone don’t arouse you. I was curious, would you say women similar to men have a drive to experience multiple partners. Like what would you say is exciting for you about pursuing multiple people if at all? For guys the exciting part is experiencing various body types, personalities etc

In terms of the dimmer switch, how does it feel at different parts of the dimmer. Like assume the dimmer is out of 100. How do you feel at 20% vs 40% vs 80%? I assume 100% is where you are fully on board and want to hookup with them
/r/PurplePillDebate28/09/22 05:30 AM
1

Yeah but I meant like why limit your options to guys in those groups if you don’t find them “super attractive” wouldn’t you ideally want to find your partner as attractive as possible? You could look in other groups
/r/PurplePillDebate18/08/22 10:32 PM
1

“just happen to be the best looking out of that particular group” Why would a woman be stuck picking out of only a particular group?
/r/PurplePillDebate18/08/22 09:26 PM
1

haha what do you suggest then? If you just assumed everyone you ever met was in a relationship or not available for w/e reason you would not get anywhere at all.
/r/PurplePillDebate31/07/22 01:38 AM
1

It’s one of those great mysteries that make most men and most women different. So where would you say you derive the arousal from during the interaction? Is nudity part of it at all?
/r/PurplePillDebate30/07/22 04:01 AM
1

Do you derive any part of your arousal from their nudity?
/r/PurplePillDebate30/07/22 03:52 AM
1

much in me even if the dude is cut. I would even argue I am more attracted to faces than nude male Do you derive any part of your arousal from a guy your into's nudity? or is it more about the interaction
/r/PurplePillDebate30/07/22 03:51 AM
3

ałe body and think it's well built but it just doesn't make me wet. And I'm talking about male body in Then what actually arouses you about a man? If their body doesn't do it, i'm assuming the personality has more to do with it. At what point during getting to know them does their personality arouse you? maybe like if you can think of triggers you've had in the past. For ex: Finding out they are funny? Finding out they are generous? etc
/r/PurplePillDebate30/07/22 03:34 AM
1

So how does it work? Like at what point during the process of getting to an 'emotional connection' do you suddenly start getting turned on by the guy? And how does it manifest? like do you start getting turned on by their body after the emotional connection is established, and is their body a big part of the arousal?
/r/PurplePillDebate30/07/22 03:30 AM
1

those aren’t things you would have thought you would be attracted to…but because you are attracted Yeah that was a good response and it makes more sense now. So if I am getting this right with the hookup, where you know little about their personality, you already find their features hot without any context, their face, physique etc already creates a sexual desire inherently on their own. With the LTR guy, you may have not been sexually attracted to them initially and found their looks totally ne…
/r/PurplePillDebate10/07/22 02:17 AM
1

For guys the hotness derives from physical appearance so I can relate to your description of the hookup, how their physical appearance makes you sexually desire them. I just don't get how the personality takes someone you didn't find 'hot' initially to the same place as the first guy.

who you have fun with sober and drunk, who generally has similar interests as you so you can do things you both enjoy together (example my partner and I both like chess and one of our Can you explain the attraction difference between someone 'hot' and how the bf/husband becomes 'hot'? Like does the 'hotness' you feel from both the hookup and the bf manifest the same way mentally? I just don't see how the hotness of someone can derive from their physical appearance for one person, but then for th…

Can you explain the difference in how you perceive 'hotness' between a 'very hot guy' that you don't know and a 'hot boyfriend' because of personality not looks? Like as a guy I don't get how there are two different ways to get to the same perception of 'hotness' . When you see your boyfriend that you think is hot now that you know him, does it manifest into his physical appearance. Like did you start seeing your bf's physical appearance all of a sudden as 'hot' in the same way you found that 'v…

Key_Chef_3314 So does just recognizing a trait that you like such as humor, charisma, create the sexual desire for you to want to hu? You see a 6 or 7 physically, and all of a sudden recognizing that trait that you like makes their physical appearance sexually desirable all of a sudden in the same way you would find the 10 with a personality you don't like as much? Bonus question: Let's say they were a 6 or 7, have the personality traits you like, but never pursued you in a sexual/romantic way. …

But the question is why would he be the first choice if his appearance alone cannot arouse you? If it's actually the personality that creates the arousal, then wouldn't it make sense to be open to more people for a ONS than the Adonis?
/r/PurplePillDebate06/07/22 03:33 AM
1

. I can look at an Adonis type with a six pack and a jaw for the ages and feel nothing in my crotch at all, a lot of the time anyway. If the Adonis doesn't make you horny just by looking at him, it's clear that their personality plays a large role in the attraction. I just wonder if thats the case why is the Adonis usually preferred for a ONS or something casual, if their appearance alone doesn't create those desires ?
/r/PurplePillDebate06/07/22 02:56 AM
1

-Ashera- I think the main difference seems to be that men are aroused solely by a women's physical appearance, while women seem to need to know the guys personality to even get there. So they might not be more horny necessarily, but guys see more of what they want more often
/r/PurplePillDebate06/07/22 02:47 AM
1

isthiswhereiputmy It could be that you require knowing their personality to make their appearance appealing? So maybe you swipe left on most people because they are either neutral to you or don't pass your looks baseline?
/r/PurplePillDebate06/07/22 02:39 AM
1

Yeah that makes sense. Thats exactly how it is for a guy. Would you say you have the same hotness standard for a long term relationship? And if not, why would you compromise on something so important to giving you sexual enjoyment/pleasure?
/r/PurplePillDebate04/07/22 04:27 AM
1

The bar is higher for physical attractiveness because that’s the basis for it. Can you elaborate on this part? Do you somehow derive like more sexual enjoyment/pleasure if they are more attractive? And if so, why would you compromise on something so important like sexual enjoyment/pleasure for a long term partner?
/r/PurplePillDebate04/07/22 03:11 AM
2

Does the 'hotness' contribute to your sexual enjoyment in someway? like do you derive more pleasure the hotter(physically) they are? If not, then why is it important for a a ONS or a FWB?
/r/PurplePillDebate04/07/22 02:47 AM

The guy had to WANT it. Guys that just had a bit of a dance with me then walked away got nothing. Guys that danced up close, offered to get me a drink, moved in for a kiss, asked if I wanted to go somewhere private got sex. You need to be ok making the first move, making her feel desired etc. you can’t be passive. What is it about them wanting it that makes you desire it? Is it possible for you to desire it independently of them pursuing you? And why wouldn't you ever pursue them for it?
/r/PurplePillDebate04/07/22 02:35 AM
4

I see. So it’s more of an aesthetic attraction solely? And the fact that they are shy mixed with the aesthetic attraction drew you in
/r/PurplePillDebate03/07/22 10:54 PM
5

And by sexually attracted to clarify, do you mean the desire to have sex with them? purely by seeing them. And if yes, what is it about them that made you desire that, is it some physical attribute?
/r/PurplePillDebate03/07/22 10:27 PM
9

What is drawing you in to want to approach these men? Are you sexually attracted to them yet before talking to them?
/r/PurplePillDebate03/07/22 10:13 PM
1

That was a thorough answer thanks. So basically the steps are 1) You see him, find him physically attractive, 2) you talk to him and realize you like his personality, and that he may be a possible candidate for an emotional bond 3) You develop an emotional bond (does this trigger the sexual desire) 4) Or is there some other 4th step after the emotional bond that causes that desire? And throughout the whole process you, are not thinking sexually in anyway until you actually get to that stage. W…

1

You can't be sexually attracted to them purely on their physical appearance?
/r/PurplePillDebate02/07/22 01:25 AM
2

Does the emotional bond somehow create sexual attraction/desire for you? and if so can you elaborate on how that works. Also as a related question, assuming you found them physically attractive and you liked their personality, is it possible for you to feel any sexual desire for them if they did not pursue you? like let's say they just interacted with you solely platonically. Is it possible for you to desire them sexually still?
/r/PurplePillDebate02/07/22 12:19 AM
1

Can you find them sexually attractive without them interacting with you at all? Let's say you like them physically, and they have a good personality by observing them. Is it possible to be sexually attracted to them without them pursing you?
/r/PurplePillDebate02/07/22 12:17 AM
1

Interesting, so basically them looking physically attractive, seeming mature, and a good personality is like literally only half of it. Without them actually pursuing you, you would not feel any sexual desire in any way? Even if they hit every box you would want. And I guess the way in which they pursue you also plays a role Nope, and this is female sexuality working differently. Women and this is shown in studies are attracted to seeing a man’s reaction to them, and “men are turned on by sexy…

Observing an older guy with grey hair that is still well kept and he takes care of himself can result in sexual attraction And by "sexual attraction" you mean the desire to have sex with him right? just through observation seeing his grey hair, well kept, mature, physically attractive. But he did not say a word to you, you just see him at a park, party or something like that
/r/PurplePillDebate01/07/22 11:22 PM
1

What if the 30 year old also paid his own bills? is there something about age that makes them sexually attractive that you cannot replicate no matter how mature the guy is? like what if the 30 year old paid his own bills, had a mature outlook on life etc is it possible for him to be more sexually attractive than the 45 year old?
/r/PurplePillDebate01/07/22 11:21 PM
1

Well we are attracted to the most physically attractive women possible. We are more indifferent about experience I guess. It would be ideal, but not required. We derive our sexual desire from her physical attributes Does their experience on its own turn you own sexually? Or is it more the fact they have that experience means you are more open to them flirting with you to turn you to attract you Like if you saw an older man 7-8 years older, or even 10. Can he sexually turn you on by just observin…
/r/PurplePillDebate01/07/22 08:17 PM
1

So is there something that has to do with the increasing age of the guy that increases the sexual appeal of a man? It seems women derive their sexual desire from the personality of the guy, not solely from their looks. So maybe like someone older has some sort of personality sexual appeal that is impossible to replicate in someone younger than you, no matter how mature they are ?
/r/PurplePillDebate01/07/22 08:08 PM
1

So that 30 year old that you dated, if he somehow magically turned 45, would that have increased your sexual attraction to him? Is there something about age that turns you on
/r/PurplePillDebate01/07/22 08:02 PM
1

That’s true, but I just mean mentally would you find them more sexually attractive than the 40 year old? I don’t mean you would actually do it in practice since you want to build something serious. I just mean if you imagined them mentally, would the 25 year old in this scenario turn you on sexually more than the 40 year old given they are both mature but the 25 year old being more physically attractive
/r/PurplePillDebate01/07/22 07:57 PM
1

So it seems that there is something in the “wisdom, and more life experiences” that is tied to what women find sexually attractive? Like tons of women go for guys 10 years older than themselves. But if you flip the script and ask them if they would go for someone 10 years younger, they’re disgusted
/r/PurplePillDebate01/07/22 07:54 PM
1

Even for something casual? You couldn’t possibly find the 25 year old more sexually desirable than the 40 year old? Assuming both are mature but the 25 year old looks like a model or athlete
/r/PurplePillDebate01/07/22 07:50 PM
1

I don’t mean that you would act on it necessarily , but more that you mentally find him sexually desirable. But it seems even that is not the case regardless of how handsome he looks to you
/r/PurplePillDebate01/07/22 07:49 PM
1

I just don’t get how the 25 year old would have zero sexual appeal if he looks really aesthetically nice to you then ?
/r/PurplePillDebate01/07/22 07:44 PM
2

So it seems that aesthetic attraction does not equal to sexual attraction to you in anyway? It’s more just something pretty to look at
/r/PurplePillDebate01/07/22 07:41 PM
1

Oh I didn’t see the second part of your response. Okay and what do you mean by “sexy” behavior? And like why does he need to make you feel sexy? Can’t you just find him sexy independently of how he makes you feel ?
/r/PurplePillDebate01/07/22 07:23 PM
1

Let’s say you talked to him and found out the 20 year old was mature. So now you can judge the 28 year old and 20 year old solely on their looks. Would the 20 year old be more sexually desirable to you ?
/r/PurplePillDebate01/07/22 07:19 PM
1

By attractive do you mean sexually attractive? Or aesthetically attractive ? And let’s say hypothetically you were not married, and looking for casual sex. Would you find that grocery store guy (assuming he’s mature too), more sexually attractive than someone closer to your age but the one closer to your age wouldn’t be model tier (but still passed your looks requirements) ?
/r/PurplePillDebate01/07/22 07:17 PM
1

Even if the 25 year old was very mature and very aesthetically attractive? They wouldn’t be more sexually desirable for something casual vs the 40 year old who is less aesthetically attractive but still passes your looks requirements (assuming the 40 year old is also mature too) ?
/r/PurplePillDebate01/07/22 07:13 PM
1

Let’s say there was a guy that’s 28 and one that’s 20. The 28: mature, passes your looks requirements but not model looking. The 20: mature, very aesthetically attractive. Which one would you find more sexually desirable ?
/r/PurplePillDebate01/07/22 07:06 PM
1

And if you were actually interested in casual sex and the 25 year old was mature and lets say the 40 year old was also mature. Would you find the 25 year old more sexually desirable, assuming he was very physically aesthetically attractive, while the 40 year old just passes your looks requirements but not model looking?
/r/PurplePillDebate01/07/22 06:57 PM
1

If you were hypothetically looking for casual sex, as a 40 year old does a 25 year old guy look sexually attractive to you? And if not why not? If they look great physically, why wouldn’t you want the 25 year old for something casual vs another 40 year old? Since it’s not an actual relationship wouldn’t the fact that he’s more physically attractive be big positive factor
/r/PurplePillDebate01/07/22 06:49 PM
1

won't always mean I like their personality. Once I catch feelings it means I like both about you So if you are not sexually attracted solely on their appearance, could you answer this like lets say two people met your physical attraction baseline needed (as in you find them physically your type), what differentiates someone you find sexually attractive based on their personality and someone you just find to be a friend based on their personality?
/r/PurplePillDebate27/06/22 08:56 PM
1

So in a way, your sexual attraction to them is totally dependent on if they flirted with you are not? (Assuming the physical and personality factors are met already) Like its not possible for you to be sexually attracted to them without them flirting, even if the physical and personality are met
/r/PurplePillDebate27/06/22 07:24 PM
1

Thanks for your thorough response btw It was more once I got to know him and how confident, witty, kind and laid-back he is, and after we had long, intellectual conversations, that I started to realize my attraction to him… Can you elaborate on how like being witty for example translates into sexual attraction for you? is it like they say something witty and all of a sudden you realize you are attracted. Also, lets say two people met your physical attraction baseline needed (as in you find them …

I think that it's more dependent on how they would approach than the difference in personality So in a way your sexual attraction is totally dependent on them making moves on you? like its not possible to be sexually attracted independently of that, like if they totally ignored you for example. They meet your physical requirement, and personality requirement but it still doesn't sexually attract you until they interact with you? If so, could you elaborate on like what type of approach it would h…

I think of this as in, there are two ice cream flavours, but I like one of them better. thats a great analogy and really made it more clear Also i was wondering, like lets say two people met your physical attraction baseline needed (as in you find them physically your type), what differentiates someone you find sexually attractive based on their personality and someone you just find to be a friend based on their personality?
/r/PurplePillDebate27/06/22 04:57 PM

So when he did start to show interest I thought I actually knew him and he wasn't just putting on an act to get my attraction. But would have you been sexually attracted if he never showed interest? like you got to see how he interacts over the 6 months etc, but no indicator that he's interested. Like is knowing how he is enough, or did he need to interact with you. Do you recognize the moment it clicks that you are sexually attracted? and if so or does it like kind of build up. Also i was wonde…
/r/PurplePillDebate27/06/22 04:51 PM

That’s really interesting. So after the guys meet the threshold, personality basically overrides anything physical features can do. And what you’re saying is basically is that those additional toppings (using your Sundae example) literally don’t do anything at all.
/r/PurplePillDebate27/06/22 02:51 AM
2

Yeah I guess the “rating” is like almost automatic for guys, you know immediately that she’s sexually attractive, by sight alone. Can you expand on the part about how his interest in you and pursuing you made you even more attracted? Does your attraction only build when the guy pursues you? Or can it build just by let’s say being in a group setting where he’s more or less indifferent about dating you So in a way you’re saying the physical aspects of him aren’t what turn you on? Like could you po…

>It wasn't until this time that I noticed his physical attributes- tall (he's over 6ft and I honestly didn't notice), masculine face, not too skinny/lanky, hard labour developed but not over done biceps (he did purposefully show these off to me), nice calves. > How does this work exactly? so like their appearance seems totally neutral/ or maybe aesthetically nice then all of a sudden the same exact features that you saw before already all of a sudden become sexually attractive?
/r/PurplePillDebate26/06/22 11:42 PM
1

What would make you more receptive to advances from someone who is more physically attractive vs someone who just passes your looks threshold? Since they both passed your looks threshold wouldn't they both have equal potential in becoming a good match for you?
/r/PurplePillDebate26/06/22 10:39 PM
1

I think its because with men, physical attraction and sexual attraction are pretty much tied together. Like it doesn't necessarily mean you will sleep with them because there are many factors at play of course, but it means like you would find sleeping with them enjoyable.
/r/PurplePillDebate26/06/22 10:16 PM
1

Hmm so like no part of their sexual appeal derives from their looks once they pass your threshold? Imagine two guys, both intelligent, you like both personalities. Would having a nice physique or face etc add to making one of them more sexually attractive to you ?
/r/PurplePillDebate26/06/22 09:39 PM
1

Yes exactly their looks. (Assuming you like both their personalities equally but maybe in different ways) Like is there any appeal to you wanting it to make it work with the person you find better looking, or after they cross the minimum attraction you could care less who’s better looking. And is it the same for a short term relationship vs a long term one ?
/r/PurplePillDebate26/06/22 09:20 PM
1

How about for something short term where you know they’re not compatible for a relationship ? Does additional aesthetic attraction add to the sexual attraction. Or is the attraction solely based on personality once they pass your baseline physically
/r/PurplePillDebate26/06/22 07:16 PM
1

But let’s say for something short term, where there is no love but just lust. Does it play a role then? Assuming both met your base level but one looked like a Calvin Klein model
/r/PurplePillDebate26/06/22 07:12 PM
1

So what appeal does someone’s aesthetic appeal have if at all? Since it’s not tied to the sexual attraction. Like after they pass your base level for aesthetics, does being more and more aesthetically attractive add to your sexual attraction to them, and if not then what the appeal vs someone that just passes your baseline
/r/PurplePillDebate26/06/22 06:59 PM
1

Let’s say you saw someone in passing like at a mall or something that met your baseline or higher, does their appearance alone create any sexual attraction at all? Or is the sexual attraction solely based on their personality assuming they met your baseline
/r/PurplePillDebate26/06/22 06:36 PM
1

But so if you were in club/bar let’s say for example. Would you be equally open to the neutral looking guy vs the model hitting on you? Like you wouldn’t have a bias towards the aesthetics of the model. And if there is a bias towards the model, what would be the reason if both their sexual appeals are equal at first sight
/r/PurplePillDebate26/06/22 06:00 PM
1

Does the aesthetic attraction on its own create any sexual desire for you? And if not why would their be a greater appeal for that vs someone you’re neutral about aesthetically
/r/PurplePillDebate26/06/22 05:37 PM
1

So is their any extra appeal at all for the guy to be aesthetically attractive then? Like if both the neutral guy and aesthetically hot guy can get to the same place attraction wise after knowing their personality then what’s the appeal to value that at all
/r/PurplePillDebate26/06/22 05:34 PM
1

So you’ve never had lust at first sight at all? Like only by seeing them, no matter how aesthetically attractive they were? So does that mean like someone who’s neutral looking to you at first vs the model has essentially an equal chance to attract you?
/r/PurplePillDebate26/06/22 05:13 PM
3

So would you describe your sexual attraction as reactive rather than active? Since you have to be desired for it to go anywhere. You can't be sexually attracted independent of that?
/r/PurplePillDebate24/06/22 10:37 PM
1

I see, yeah i guess the eventual ideal for men too would be to have a best friend for sure. But at a younger age the novelty might be equally as alluring or even more at that time in their life If there were 3 friends all sexually attractive to you, but you don't see the potential of a long term relationship with any of them for w/e reason. But still find them sexually attractive, is there any appeal to hooking up with all 3. Or would you still rather as you described earlier be with one only of…
/r/PurplePillDebate24/06/22 06:18 PM
1

Hmm but if it's possible to be sexually interested in multiple people at once, and it's not the novelty of each one that makes that possible, then what is it? So like let's say you weren't in a relationship, but there were multiple men you found sexually attractive. Is there no appeal in wanting to hook up with each of them with no intention of dating? (not that you would necessarily do it in practice because there many factors at play, but i mean just as a mental desire that sounds appealing)
/r/PurplePillDebate24/06/22 04:59 PM
1

Yeah it definitely seems like that. So its kind of like as the knob goes up you see more and more potential until its eventually totally turned on? but until its on its just little sparks of interest I was also curious how about novelty? like can you theoretically be sexually interested in multiple people simultaneously, and is the novelty of new men alluring. Like you are sexually/romantically into someone but keep meeting people that grab your attention and make you want them. Many men can sep…
/r/PurplePillDebate24/06/22 04:04 PM

So would it have been more like aesthetic attraction, or more of like a low level sexual attraction thats not enough to create sexual desire yet? I guess if it was the latter it would be a little confusing because with men there is either a sexual desire or not. And they usually know right away just by seeing them

And if you had just met him at the party that night, and didn't know him before that, I would assume his chest hair wouldn't have done anything for you right ? Like it seems their physical assets don't become sexually appealing until you like their personality first

The description in the first paragraph was helpful. So in the scenario with your husband, before he asked you out, would you describe you finding him as an "attractive man" as sexual attraction? or aesthetic attraction and platonic

I see, so noticing those characteristics in someone isn't necessarily sufficient, it has to somehow click with your interests. Let's say they're intelligent, and they clicked with you personally because of shared interests is that what starts the sexual attraction? or would that just lay the foundation where if they started flirting or something you'd be receptive to starting to become sexually attracted?

If there were two men, that both met all of your preferred characteristics humor, emotional intelligence etc (and assuming they both meet your physical attraction threshold ). What would make you pick one over the other?

Assuming two people have the exact intelligence characteristics you are describing, what then becomes the differentiator between the two, like what would make you pick one over the other ? assuming both are interested in you

Yeah that does make more sense. Would you say the intelligence has to be specific to the type of subjects you are personally into? Like by the way you defined it, you would find every guy that holds a phd, or doctor etc sexually attractive (assuming they meet your looks threshold) right?

Interesting. Does this type of situation happen with new men you just met as well? and can this happen irrespective of how you feel about their physical/aesthetic appearance initially before talking to them

Can you define what you mean by attractive? do you mean they become sexually more attractive just by the mere fact that you find something in their intelligence that intrigues you. I guess its hard to wrap my head around given how sexual attraction is so tied to the physical aspects for many men

You can kill a man, but you can't kill an idea.
