What an excuse if I've ever heard one. Muslims and Philippinos get it done when they can remember it, (often without anesthesia), and they still do it. And even if you're right, intact guys have a difficult option, while circumcised guys have no options at all. (circumcisions are permanent, erection pain is temporary).

Just because courts don't recognize it as such doesn't mean it isn't. Japan only started recognizing man as potential victims of rape back in 2017. Does that mean every Japanese man who was raped prior to 2017 wasn't a victim of sexual assault since it wasn't recognized as such? Pretty sure it's sexual assault regardless of whether the law/courts said so or not.

I've heard genital cleanliness, Islam, and cultural tradition (transition into becoming a woman), be used as a justification for fgm as well. As someone else pointed out, preventing masturbation was one of the main reasons circumcision was popularized in America, so don't pretend it's only a reason for girls.

You still didn't address my point. A female equivalent of male circumcision exists, and is considered abhorrent. Whatever they are doing in the middle east will never change that, regardless of what's being done. Should cutting of the clitoral hood be allowed if the clitoris beneath it remains intact? What you're referring to is a minority of cases. The clitoris has a hood covering that is the biological equivalent to a foreskin. So a female equivalent does in fact exist, and cutting it off is considered morally abhorrent.

There are different variations of female circumcision, some are more extreme, and some are less extreme than male circumcision. What you are mentioning is the most extreme version, and you are making it look like it's all that happens.
