The proper way to troll them would be to set up a booth with "Free Slaps for All! (I actually believe in gender equality.)"

Id say this also relates to most big cities and smaller towns. I come from a smaller town where its common place to smile and even wave at people as you pass. Almost everyone you walk by asks "how's it going?" And people are genuinely interested in your answer. All the cities I've been to from san Francisco to new York contain a lot more closed off unfriendly people. Just an observation.

Thanks I came here to say this, furthermore if you asked the husband if he were trying to shame his wife I'm pretty sure he'd say yes.

"tell her how she's basically equally likely to catch an STD from handjobs as she is from blowjobs." That gave me a good laugh. Don't buy into this moron's nonsense, you are FAR more likely to contract an STD from oral sex than from mutual masturbation.

This quote should be somewhere on the FAQ.

If dating some girl that isn't attracted to him would ruin your friendship, I wouldn't call that much of a friendship.

I can't speak to your specific situation, but the only way I got over my insecurity was when I had an epiphany. I realized that I really didn't want to spend time with any one who would judge someone based on something they can't change.

You should have just walked up to someone who looked busy, point at the chair next to/ across from them and say, "Mind if I sit here?" The more you interact with people no matter how briefly it helps. When you're in line ask people "How's it going?" then ask them what they are getting. If the conversation doesn't evolve from there oh well at least you talked to someone. It only gets easier with time.

This was my first thought. If liquor and tonic is girly, wtf is manly?

I feel like giving your number has the subtle psychological effect of telling the woman that they need to remember you or else you might forget about them. When I ask for the number sometimes I feel like I'm pulling too much, when I should be placing the ball in their court. I try to judge every situation as it comes without abiding to some arbitrary set of "rules." I honestly can't complain about my success rate; but I'm looking for real connections, rather than just random hook-ups.

This might be the single greatest piece of advice I've ever heard. Thank you; you should write more about what you know.

1-2 seems like the perfect time frame in most cases, at least in my experience. It all really depends on what kind of connection you make when you meet. Sometimes immediately calling them is right (rarely), and sometimes it's better to wait 3-4 days (especially is you get the number sunday).

Thank you for your input. I was kind of hoping for a female perspective. One follow up question though, I know guys who come on strong WAY too soon. My question is what do you think is an appropriate time frame for a call back? I usually wait at least a day unless there was some incredible connection. I try to judge every situation as it comes, but 1-2 days feels about right in most situation. Would you agree?

You can kill a man, but you can't kill an idea.
