My advice (as a gay guy with a bf) is to just do what you can to make sure all of the background stuff is handled. My bf has a high stress job and he has a lot of responsibilities, so I try to make sure dinner is ready, I make sure his cycling stuff is clean and ready for him (because it helps him to relax and blow off steam) and I also will just pop in on him and say “hey, do you want anything?” In my experience, if he says “no”, he really means no, he’s good haha.
