"Yeah? So why didn't you?" My ex did that too, even when said he didn't want to do such and such for me. But when we broke up he was apparently going to give me all these things (and suddenly remembered things I actually wanted instead of what he wanted and bought for me) and he never did. So when was he going to? In two years? In six? If he was just about to, then why didn't he? With what money anyway? That's okay, I can get my own stuff. Thanks.

Nooo, you see it's okay because a bad experience didn't happen to her but if you bring up all the women who have had bad experiences then you're fear mongering and stifling her free expression by bringing up the bad experiences of a small minority of women (who should have known better, like she obviously does, because nothing bad has happened to her, despite the fact that she went on multiple dates with a dude and couldn't vet him either, which shows that up until now she's been lucky).

No, she may as well have bought his ring. It was a suprise party for him so she was planning everything for him. His favourite foods, his preferred decor, his friends and presents for him. This was his day and all he had to do was show up with a ring and that made all the effort she put into planning retroactively his effort. He had his cake and ate it too.
