Australia and AC/DC - they peaked in 1991 february 9th - at #23 on the billboard top 40. Unfortunatly for them, then the gulf war broke out and garbage like Bette Midler's 'From a distance' surged in popularity. The 90s were a sad time in pop music.

I'm going to say Copenhagen and the band was King Diamond. Jk. But I like the story better that way.

Great post. I know you're joking but While we no longer need to struggle to escape a dinosaur a sabre-tooth tiger [or being crushed by a mastodon], we do struggle to escape our own self-doubt C'mon man. For SCIENCE!

I like your post. Tough to read some truths that apply to me too. Benny Hill I think you mean Benny Hinn. https://www.youtube.com/results?search_query=benny+hinn But I would totally go to a church of Benny Hill. https://www.youtube.com/results?search_query=benny+hill

wealthy beyond my own abilities. She owns our houses, and a larger majority of our assets and has contributed the largest portion of our savings. She's the bread winner, being a professional athlete and has family money that dwarfs any earnings potential If you live together, own property together, you are legally tied to one another. For what it's worth she would probably be afraid of splitting up because (depending on your local laws) may be 'common law' spouses. It sounds like the biggest ris…

This book, although written well after, is a gentle introduction to 'Maps of Meaning: The Architecture of belief'. Which is much more dense/less accessible but well thought out. https://www.amazon.com/Maps-Meaning-Architecture-Jordan-Peterson/dp/0415922224

away with her girls and a couple of them were her make put buddies in bars on a couple occasions. It 'put' supposed to be 'out'? In which case wtf is a 'make out buddy' and why would your wife have one? Not trying to be a dick, just not grokking what you wrote. edit to add. Sorry about your loss. Losing a parent is tough. Overall there isn't anything 'wrong' with you, something upsetting happened and you are dealing with it. The fact that you see some behaviors you don't like and want to course-…

actually another fun story. Guy is an exec. My then GF worked for him. His step son (say, 7 yrs old) is having a birthday party and has made drawings for t-shirts printed for the kids at his party. He wanted them scanned, she is clueless to all things computer related so she asks me for help. the picture, unfortunately were drawn on like red colored construction paper - and are so light they won't scan for shit. He makes my GF draw 'sports' pictures - like baseball, basketball (the theme of his …

No idea how they got there, but every negotiation has to be asymmetrical. They will talk about 'win-win' but at the heart of it, they negotiate very hard for their own money -but are tight-fisted with other's getting a raise. Can't give too specific details for obvious reasons. But I can recall a CTO (a women) trying to get out basic legal severance - for workers being let go who really didn't make that much money to begin with. The time and energy (wasted) discussing it with the people in the r…

I've met several C level (CFO, CEO, CTO) exec at fortune 50 companies. The common thread is they're all sociopaths. Career before anything, able to switch off emotions (or turn them on) to get what they want. They can lie, and they probably believe it themselves. When you hear someone makes 30 million dollars a year and wonder 'why would anyone work more than 1 year doing that? I would work 1 year and quit' because the people who get there are wired to hold on like a pitbull with a squeeky toy t…

1) Man up, straighten out, and calm down. 2) Find out about if there is extradition between your home country and the UK (assuming your'e getting divorced in UK) - lawyers won't like it but that may be a viable strategy. But keep that in your back pocket as a LAST RESORT and for god sake's don't let it slip to her lawyers.

Cutting weight too quickly can be dangerous and can fuck up your kidneys and other organs. I'm using cutting as it is used in athletic context, since you mentioned wrestling. Or are you talking about losing weight by eating right (less)?

Short version. You know what your weaknesses are. So address them. Put yourself in hard situations - go to a dance club, talk to people - head up, shoulders back, hand out to shake. 'Nice to meet you'. 'Hello', is a good way to start a conversation. Smiling and looking like you are paying attention (but not needy) is a good way to keep a conversation going. People love to talk about themselves.

You went through something traumatic. No shame in taking some time to get back to your old self. Just keep putting effort in (which is sounds like you are), and don't just run down the clock.

I'm not OP: but I will twist this to make it more interesting. If you found yourself developing Oneiteis on a plate - should you... A) run away B) treat it as a means to test yourself.

You have birthday parties, that's cute. Do you go to a restaurant and tell them so they sing a song?

Be quiet, but not boring. Don't talk non-stop, but if there is a long lull in conversation mention a dream, a passion project, or maybe on a little research on cool vacation places. Be positive. Don't talk about other people - focus on big ideas, your concrete goals - it should be apparent to her that you are a builder and master of your own destiny.

"So I watched that new movie yesterday. It was really terrible, right?" You triggered a memory in me, kind of relevant, stay with me. I was on the subway, a girl was talking to this guy. Her: I love horror movies Him [timidly]: Me too. Like SAW and Scream? ( Her: No, not those lame ones. I like 'Nightmare on elmstreet' or 'halloween'- [footnote, those are pretty lame too, have you seen the 3rd one? Jesus it was terrible] Him: Yeah, I - uh yeah like those, not lame ones, I uh know what you mean. …

There is no way you'd get long term mortality rates in almost 12 thousand people by doing it any other way. It just isn't realistic. I can't take in good faith that you don't see a link between obesity and poor health, excessive sugar intake and obesity.

Hello friend, your citation is 20 years old. And even within it, the smoking gun would be ".. British diets replacing 60% of saturated fats by other fats.. " https://health.gov/dietaryguidelines/2015/guidelines/chapter-1/a-closer-look-inside-healthy-eating-patterns/ Based on input from Harvard science review as of 2015 the old 'avoid cholesterol' has been removed, that said those foods high in cholesterol often also have higher saturated fat (bad). If you limit yourself to 16 grams of saturated …

Dietary cholestoral doesn't dramatically increase blood cholestoral as previously thought. Too much sugar in a diet is 100x more dangerous.
