"NOW EDITED FOR PEOPLE WITH NO CONCENTRATION SPAN WHO REQUIRE PARAGRAPHS" The amount of effort required by a submitter to create paragraphs versus the amount of effort required by a reader to read a post without paragraphs is hardly equal. Kudos for improving the original by adding paragraphs, but I'd hardly call people who prefer paragraphs "people with no concentration span..."

Clever, but, no really: Elizabeth Fee articulates this belief: “Knowledge was created as an act of aggression—a passive nature had to be interrogated, unclothed, penetrated, and compelled by man to reveal her secrets” (qtd. in Sommers 66) while Catharine MacKinnon claims that, for men, “to know has meant to fuck” (qtd. in Sommers 66). “In a similar mood, Sandra Harding suggests that Newton’s Principles of Mechanics could just as aptly be called “Newton’s Rape Manual”” (Sommers 66).

That's because the white man can't suffer. He's the eternal enforcer of patriarchy and sole benefactor of the genetic lottery. Duh.

The best part about the mention of Twilight was that the re-cut YouTube video was used as one of three bullet points demonstrating that feminists are "alive and active" and doing "awfully necessary work."

Learning department? Last time I checked, some feminist scholars think knowledge was a male construct designed to oppress women, and that we have to restructure all of education to better suit women's needs.

Seems to me this is just another way of women (the insecure ones anyway) controlling men. Why not let men have something like this for themselves, whether it's a public funded place or not. They're not conspiring to kill or blow up the world. Besides, men's rights should be considered private - perhaps these girls want to go to get their thrills. Sick...yes, watch out for the trenchcoats. /s (Disclaimer: read the comments.)

The Misandry Bubble will collapse by 2020, in one way or another. I figure the Federal government is bound to shrink and America / The West will see a loss of power like Great Britain saw not too long ago (precedent), and I agree with Ragnar that small brotherhoods might be the best way to weather the storm.

Government statistics are not always "reputable," especially not with the deep penetration (innuendo intended) of feminists in various administrative bodies. See "Who Stole Feminism" by Christina Hoff Sommers for a good starter on how feminists have infiltrated most statistic-generating organizations; take a stats class (if you haven't) to understand good statistical rigor.

I don't know what history you're talking about, because it is still official policy in all branches to bar women from any job proficiency which is classified as "combat arms" - such as 0311 infantryman in the Marine Corps, for instance. Furthermore, even when women serve auxiliary roles that might see combat - such as security details on convoys - often the men involved go out of their way to protect the women or the officers up the chain do their best to ensure the operation is as low risk as p…

I completely agree that the single guys are more valuable to the military, for the same reasons. That bit I quoted from my old blog was just a snippet from a much larger post that touched on a whole slew of awful things that were going on, by the way. ;) I had heard it was important to get married if you wanted to be successful as an officer but I didn't realize it was so ridiculous that you couldn't pick up Major if you were single. I had wanted to become an officer eventually, but there was an…

Offensive labels or no, there is no guarantee that a woman you marry isn't going to go after everything when you get divorced. The problem would be greatly alleviated if anachronistic laws regarding divorce and alimony were revised; they were written in a time when women were more or less not a part of the workforce (and also, IIRC, during a time when "no-fault" divorce did not exist; speaking of which it'd probably be best to do away with that too).

At 22, I have completely given up on dating and abandoned any pretenses of getting married and starting my own family. I have never personally known - that is to say, in real life - a female who was not a destructive or abusive influence on me. The only exceptions I can think of are a handful of female teachers I had; in particular there was an algebra teacher I had in high school who was helpful during some stressful times. (Relevant to note that there were literally 5 other male teachers provi…

I'm not sure about the officer life style, as I'm enlisted, but a lot of pressure amongst the enlisted ranks to get married is to avoid the shitty lifestyle afforded by living in the barracks. If you shack up (even with some random harlot - which happens!), you're getting less barracks duties per month, you never have to deal with Field Day again (which in the Marine Corps, can be a day-long haze fest that stretched into week long haze fests at times), you get significantly increased pay, your c…

As an active duty service member, one of the biggest problems I see is a bunch of young guys getting foolishly married quickly because they want to escape the hell hole that is the barracks (and also having what they think will be easy access to regular sex also plays a role).
/r/MensRights10/12/10 03:40 PM

Somebody has to go to war. As an active duty service member, I don't see the feminist movement agitating for equality when it comes to women signing up for the selective service or getting assigned to a combat zone.

My two cents.
/r/MensRights09/12/10 09:25 PM

Which gender bears the burden of the selective service or the VAST majority of combat deaths creating / supporting / sustaining the lifestyle you enjoy? (As a rule, women are still prohibited from combat assignments in the military.) Women get sexually assaulted; men get shot, blown up, paralyzed, disabled, psychologically scarred or out right killed.

With an attitude like that, your alternatives are a draft or no military at all, considering your opinion of volunteers. And before you run off on a high horse about world peace if everyone would disarm and yadda yadda yadda, I'd love to see you run a country without a military.

You keep talking about "needs" but only list expenses for your son which are luxuries. Furthermore, you repeatedly state that you are not in debt and not living beyond your means - in part because you remarried someone with a six figure income - so remind me again exactly how "need" factors into this, at all?

Important to consider: It also depends on how you define misogyny and misandry. Some redditors are of the opinion, for example, that such terms would be "technical" and one should not use a dictionary to define them. What some would call misogyny in r/feminisms might not be called misogyny here, having to do with a difference of methodolgy in how to define misogyny.

I'm not sure how you would put a movement together, but I can tell you that it's probably best to start small. I'm a fan of small but specialized things - the Marine Corps, for example, has created its storied history by having a (relatively) small but elite force that's extremely competent. As you mentioned, a lot of men are waking up and realizing that getting married is a waste of time. They're also realizing that without a traditional girlfriend or wife in their life, they have a much bigger…

Checking for Statistical Rigor in Three Easy Steps A Tutorial by Deezee, Ph.D. Step 1) Investigate the source. Laurie A. The Spearhead is a relevant voice in the movement, albeit an extreme one. Their only crime is that they don't sugar-coat their language or feelings about what has happened. Ignoring whether or not this statement is true, it is poor form to reject an article merely because it comes from a certain source (without any other analysis or refutation). It's a logical fallacy called poisoning the well.

Certainly this wasn't the only reason the study was bunk, but it was the one that turned me off. Twins are fine for an experimental study (such as medical trials), but you cannot really do statistical extrapolation with them.
