OP, if you are a W2 employee, you’ll want to update your witholdings to reflect that you are single or head of household, NOT married. Otherwise your 2026 tax bill could be huge. Source: happened to me. Withheld for married with two other dependents, but then was divorced by end of year. | 5 | How to be aloneIt’s hard and it sucks. What worked for me: 1) don’t fight the suck. Accept that it sucks. Wishing that it wasn’t this way only makes you feel worse. 2) Being alone is weird.
