CNA is just a certificate class that is really short. Not eligible for student loans, but they’ll hook you up with a predatory lender to pay for it. I don’t think CNA is expensive. Maybe a couple thousand at most. The ones I have seen around here are less than a grand. It not hard either. You have to actually be mentally challenged not to pass. When I went to nursing school it was packed with these women. Single moms that couldn’t get a man to pay their way and now have to focus on education to get a job that pays well enough to support her kid and get their own home. I’m a nurse and can tell you firsthand that you better bridge any associate degree in nursing into a BSN as fast as you can. LVNs around here have been phased out of most hospitals. Non-BSN nurses are next. You might get hired, but if you don’t get your BSN within two years you’re fired. I bridged from paramedic to RN in a year and one summer.
