I am INTJ on paper but I take party buses to EDM concerts and have a hell of a time. It's a loose definition and how you grew up defines some of your traits, but they are not immutable.

I've been lurking and reading TRP material for the past couple of years. It's the mindset. In engineering and other fields, you are not dealing with people (compared to say, retail or sales), you are dealing with a problem. So naturally, if you don't like talking to people, you go with engineering. This isn't the case all the time obviously, there are some well-rounded people in jobs that don't involve a lot of socializing.
