When I was a kid, we did something similar, except not as stupid. We would stand on each side of the street and PRETEND we were pulling a rope/line across the street. Cars would crawl past thinking there was something there. No. There is proof that this happens, I just don't think it was the full case here. He had priors and wasn't able to attend his court hearing because of other matters relating to being in prison. The woman also showed a lot of regret and wrote an apology letter which the story doesn't mention the man did. I just don't think this is one of those times where he's being sentenced to more because he's a man.

He was out on licence having served 15 months of a prison sentence for wounding at the time of the Domino’s offence. That may be why. I have a friend that is facing years in prison because his girlfriend(who he had a previous relationship with while they were both in high school) was just under 18 and he was 20. Meanwhile, a larger age gap happens with a teacher and student and she basically is getting a slap on the wrist compared to the other charges she should have gotten. Sucks that my friend could be out and free if he was a woman instead.

I can tell you that I know plenty of single mothers that don't do all they can for their children. Some I know hardly do anything. Just because you're a single parent doesn't mean you're a good parent. Applies both to single moms and single dads. I know a guy that was doing 100mph, lost control and hit a van head on and the driver died. 100% an accident and he is serving 12 years in prison and having his license suspended for life.
