If you're a good doctor you weigh what's in the patient's best interest and not just what's in your best interest. And while patient autonomy is weighed very highly, valid consent also includes being fully informed about the procedure. This includes mentioning how often people who were so sure they wanted the procedure in the present, changing their mind in the future.
