Ehh, I’m a Chris Rock fan and appreciate things he does like how he went against the stupid rules to talk about Jussie Smollett at the NAACP awards, but people should take his specials with a grain of salt. If a woman with a BAC of .05 had sex with a man with a BAC of .30, the man would be arrested for having sex with a woman who can’t consent because she’s inebriated. Presumably most people would much rather take the 200 hours than jail time, but that’s probably because people don’t want to ever have to say they went to jail or explain to a job interviewer why they were sentenced to jail, etc. It says a lot about our culture and criminal justice system that in some ways the ‘lesser’ punishment is actually much more grueling and has more potential to interfere with your job or even get you injured. To play devils advocate, he does try to argue she was under extreme duress by others pushing her to throw it. In most jurisdictions crimes either have lower equivalents or will give a reduced plea if you can prove it was in the ‘heat of the moment’. In OP’s post history on TD, a top comment seems to show his claims about getting a degree in Chemical Engineering are false. Previously, he said it was at SFSU, which top comment wisely pointed out has never offered chemical engineering, only mechanical, electrical, and civil. Correct me if I’m wrong OP.
