Have you ever considered that they may be looking at you because you are staring at them? They may be afraid or feel uncomfortable. This could also explain their defensive/abrasive responses. Please don’t automatically assume it’s their ego/judgment of you like other commenters have said. It could be a personal safety issue for them - they may feel afraid/vulnerable being alone in a public place and feeling singled out. I don’t think it’s your tattoos.

Yeah I don’t understand why OP had to bring up the ‘nerdy Star Wars guys’... they were enjoying themselves and comfortable enough to be themselves in a public setting.

Sounds like she’s actively avoiding you if anything. I wouldn’t look too deeply into it.

Yeah like the whole ‘texting as a favour to women’ and only texting women who’ve ‘done something to deserve it’? Seriously?

She would say yes if she was really into you.

Can you provide examples of your ‘pretty explicit’ texts? There’s a possibility you were just being friendly, and she took it as you being friendly.

Agreed. OP has posted this in dozens of times in multiple groups, with posts spanning over 30 days...

I can see that from your post history...

How well has that worked for you so far? I agree with Vanessa. Personality is key.

I agree with this. As a woman I personally don’t like being approached at the gym in the first place as it’s the place I go to get my mind off things and focus on myself. The initial approach and the comment about her hanging up on her mom for you would have immediately turned me off.

If she’s come back and said she doesn’t think it’s a good idea, leave it alone.

They likely feel uncomfortable/unsafe.

It really differs person to person. I personally enjoy it with the guy I’m with now. He keeps his area really clean and there’s no scent or taste, so it’s really easy and fun to do.

If two people are genuinely into each other, rules like this are completely unnecessary. The interactions will not be planned or strategic.

You can kill a man, but you can't kill an idea.
