In a lot of places that would be bad. Got done crazy hard water in our tap. Purify that shit or get it delivered.

Another option for next time is to just start telling them about the book when they ask what you are doing. "Ok, so there are these halflings, elves, and a human. They are looking for a dwarf to help them find a mine entrance. They found this magical rock that..." "Thanks sir"

Would be great if you had a friend who could walk a path that keeps then in eye sight, but far enough away to not be suspicious. Then when the cops came they could start recording. Doing this alone is going to end up as your word has theirs.

If you think that all those people fit into the same bucket then that's an issue.

People who want equality do want that. The person in the post wants to be a victim.

Lots of managers I've seen lately have adopted the walking meeting. Very visible, but still able to talk without being over heard.

Didn't see the article linked. A lot of the argument seems to be around how most of the job is not about physical strength and around social skills. I don't know enough about firefighting to know how they staff people, but I would imagine that you always want to be ready for the call where every second counts and that is likely why they put so much on the physical test. https://hbr.org/2018/12/making-u-s-fire-departments-more-diverse-and-inclusive?utm_source=twitter&utm_medium=social&utm_campaig…

I'm saying legally they have the right. If you have an issue with that why not petition to change it? As it stand legally, we should let the law enforcement do their job and in situations like this they will almost for sure find there is not enough evidence to do anything with. Which is the outcome we all expect. If they find she is lying then she should be charged with a falsely reporting a crime and anything else they can stick. It's not over thinking something it is just talking about how the…

What are you suggesting about timing of reporting crimes? Are you suggesting that the limitations we have in place are too lenient? Should all crimes have a maximum time of some length that if not reported they are not actionable?

I don't disagree that there needs to be evidence and investigation into matters to determine guilt. I also agree that doing it years later is likely to lead to a he said/she said that legally will err on not enough evidence for a case. I agree that if there is no evidence you can't just take someone's word for it. In this specific case, there are two issues with the rape kit piece you mentioned. One, is that rape kits were invented in the late 1970s and this occurred in the early 1980s. They wer…

I do see that the article is gendered. Read the comments on this post and how they are all specifically about how men have it worse. I'm not disagreeing with the fact, but that isn't going to help push the discussion towards equality. Just because the other side did it doesn't mean we have to. Be the bigger person. If you think we have to only fix men or women being homeless first then that's a problem. We should be doing what we can to help all homeless. Maybe that means build a men's homeless …

I really feel a bit ill about comparing homeless people. It is very hard to help everyone and I do understand that. I think we have to continue to remove the gender from the discussion and that might mean being the bigger person and saying 1/x people are homeless as a counter instead of just arguing gender. I know it's r/mensrights, but we still want equality right?

I'm not saying this doesn't happen, but this just seems like a baseless fact that doesn't help the discussion of bettering the world.

This isn't helpful either. This seems to suggest an us vs them when really it is a common problem to solve together for all.

Aim to ask them questions that help them come to your conclusion themselves. If you can guide them you will turn more than telling them.

I did read it, but I see where I misread part of it. I guess I find the wording weird how they wrote "might even finish it" and I twisted it in my head. I'm glad we could have a great example of belittlement though. :D I don't feel like you should be belittled anywhere though. Maybe I could have just stated that from the start. No one should belittle anyone.

Is it just third wave or is it because we raise girls to be talked to more supportively and boys to just deal with the reality that they need to do better?

How do you help everyone get an education in situations like this? You shouldn't feel belittled in school. I'm not saying it should be a safe-space, but there is a difference between criticism and belittlement. Unless you are arguing that it is a perception issue.

You can still help without ever touching the kid. Just watch them and shout for their parents. You could also find a woman to help. Let's be real, a woman is more likely to be believed as helping here.

This is why I'd never help a lost kid with any contact. I might ask them where their parents are or if there is some sort of security or something near by ask them to handle it. All else fails, I might yell, "did someone lose their kid?" The only two things I've seen a lost kid I never interacted with them and just told staff where I was to help the kid.

Sure, but if you do touch a guy in the same non sexual way he has no recourse. It needs to be equal and consistent. Not saying the touch should be allowed.

I don't agree that the issue of blackmailing is covering everything with pressuring someone to have sex. Sexual harassment is not just for women, but anyone harassed in a sexual nature. The problem is with how the offices handle it and how the law is applied. If you said to a woman, "You look good." She could take it wrong and get you in trouble for sexual harassment at work, but there is no way she could get you to court. The same thing said to a man who takes it the wrong way would be told to …

Depends on the field. Some of my friends make that much money (one considerably more) and they work 9-5 bar crunch time if they planned poorly. If you work in a high skilled field and are good at what you do you can make a lot of money with regular hours. That being said, I know many at my level which is still good money who put in 60+ hour weeks.

Many men I've talked to with issues reaching climax during sex have faced that due to things like death grip. It's there something similar for women and if so, I'd wonder how many of those women who can't suffer from it. That being said, I know that most women I've read talking about it make it sound a hell of a lot harder to reach than as a guy I do.

That's cool that you enjoy it and don't let it get to you. I agree the whole article is stupid. When I was in college it was about critical thinking and not about feeling safe. Heck I had roommates that were assigned and threatened me. College should emulate the real world as much as possible and no one cares if your feelings get hurt except those close to you.
