The opportunity is certainly there. But even if he does as you say, she may decide she doesn't give a fuck and OP is just an asshole. I think the differentiation between influence and opportunity is important because OP needs to know that even if he does the right thing his daughter may still choose to go down a self-destructive path. Recognizing this will help him stay outcome independent.

That's rough. You might be in a spot where your influence on her life is over. But guaranteed if you give in and don't stick to your morals, any chance of having an influence will be gone forever.

Maintain frame and be honest. Decide on your boundaries for interacting with her and stick to them. Don't pander but be loving. If anything, what she needs the most is someone who is strong and will stand up for the best in her. She'll likely continue the silent treatment and eventually lash at you for disagreeing with her but that's just a test. The real important thing is that you stick to your guns and show her that you can still love her.

Another important factor in this is the number of young men who lack good role models. For millennia young boys have learned how to be a man by watching older men. But in today's world where the majority of men are either adult children or betas who take their lead from women, there aren't any good examples for young men to follow. Imitation is a form of learning.

You can kill a man, but you can't kill an idea.
