"We're in a relationship now, I signed up for monogamy, not celibacy" "I PAID YOU WITH COMMITMENT, PAY ME WITH SEX!"

He probably thinks it counts as a personality.

"oh I'm sorry, you must have sent this to the wrong person! Don't worry, I'll be sure to pass the message on to your girlfriend. "

Men can have so little empathy for women, they automatically see themselves in the man's role, losing money to some faceless leech. Now she's proved proved herself to be "worthy" of the money (and subsequently, empathy).

And this right here is another reason why young marriages should be (and are thankfully closer to being) a thing of the past. Sure, back in the day marriages were a matter of survival, a "neccesary" division of labor. But today, a woman can work and make an income her entire life without relying on a man, and those bygone mindsets are actively harmful. Even "high school sweethearts" with ideals of love have serious issues, since our brains aren't fully formed til out mid 20s. And then you have w…

This exactly! When they paid for college did they sit down and say "this is what we expect for our money, a swift marriage and grandkids by 20XX?" No! Because that's super creepy! They don't have to live with the consequences of your decisions, they just want to visit and spoil some cute kids, you have to live with someone, create a life. Finding that takes time, because you need to do it right!

Wow. Red flags right out of the gate. He uses her as a piggy bank, he uses her as an incubator, as a nanny. No wonder he doesn't marry her, why would you weld a ring to a hammer? That's not what tools are for. He sucked up her savings to buy himself a house, lies about his own money to keep her off the deed, and is trying to gaslight her into seeing herself as some sort of leecher he deigns to support. I'm also slightly heartbroken on the lack of mentoring that led to her having no credit at 33.

I absolutely hate it when clearly western narratives use the phrase "around the world". Yes I'm sure men in rural Pakistan lay awake at night, trembling in fear of having a rape accusation lodged against them. It would really put a damper on the mood if there were an honor killing this week.

Every man is a protagonist in his own mind. If he's a "lady killer" you're just a piece of meat, a Goomba to his Mario. If he cheated on you, it's because you said "no", because you didn't drop all your plans, because you didn't "put enough effort into your appearance" "Look what she was wearing, she was just asking for it. You know men can't control themselves around a girl like that!"

You can kill a man, but you can't kill an idea.
